Hello all; just wanted to share my new favorite deck that often has my opponents scratching their heads. It is a handbuff paladin that runs 28 minions and 2 spells. Many cards from KFT are fantastic in combination with MSG. I anticipated that others may enjoy this list after some great results i had with it myself. By no means to i claim it to be some amazing unicorn deck, but it thoroughly exceeded my expectations.
Honestly after i removed geist from this deck i was immediately matched with a druid after not seeing one all day. You know that feeling. Turns out disabling hero powers can have a much bigger impact than you might expect. It has zero impact on this deck because we really don't require 1/1 tokens here; worth.
I ended up playing Mindbreakers because Skulking Geist is much slower and a card you may hesitate to play very often in this deck. Instead Mindbreaker denies your opponent of something their strategy often assumes will be available. Druids board control can be weakened, priests healing can be negated etc. but the real fun happens when you use this to counter DK hero powers. You played Raza? Cool; i'll just deny it entirely!
I am complimenting this with Nerubian Unraveler. It has proven to be very effective in stifling opposing strategies while you carry on with your deck full of minions. For those that are especially triggered by druids, this has a nice impact on their ramp and especially on denying Ultimate Infestation when they are low on cards.
The combination of buffing all kinds of taunt + lifesteal minions in tandem with disruptive cards like Mindbreaker and Nerubian Unraveler results in a great way to wade through the current meta. Honorable mention goes to Fight Promoter for being some amazing card draw value in this deck.
Now that i have explained my thoughts about this deck, feel free to share yours. Perhaps you may be unsure of how to play this effectively; i don't mind addressing uncertainty. Now if you will excuse me, i have some further minds to break!
I'm trying this literally the SECOND I get home from work. Not even gonna kiss the wife. (I really am, but I'm excited as f). God damn what an innovative deck for Paladin FINALLY! I'll let you know how it fares for me, brother!
Edit : I tried the Drakarri Enchanter buffadin (as seen on Firebat's channel "deck doctor," with my own tweaks), and loved it, although it wasn't very competitive!
Imho you will need two Spikeridged steeds in here. It's a way to heal (Corpsetaker/Burnbristle) and a way to retake board if you lose it. Probably, changing a promoter to a Tar Creeper for the early rush stop would be nice. And as far as my games were concerned with Mindbreaker touch (when Priest was literally everywhere), I'd also go the Bloodsail/Patches package.
Fight Promoter was kicked from my deck long ago, and since I still play Handbuff, Acolytes are amazing.
Mindbreaker is a great card with decent stats even without a buff. My personal favourites are shutting down Warlock's draw card and Hunter's face damage, but it's certainly good for DKs as well. Seems like an interesting deck!
Thanks for the feedback all! Glad to spread the fun around. I thought about using spikeridged steed but personally i decided to commit to minions and maximizing the full hand buff value. I am sure it could work just as well with it. I was concerned i might screw myself at some point though because i try to keep the nerubian on board all the time.
I am not using sunkeeper tarim because i felt it defeated the purpose of hand buffs if you just erase them all and make them 3/3. Situationally it is still good and discovering one with stonehill is sufficient for me. I usually still pass on the option though.
Don is probably the least important legendary in this deck, however it is still powerful. Especially when buffed itself. You can get away without bolvar as well but the divine shield synergy is fantastic. It's also a very good body for enabling fight promoter. He is just so hot right now.
Acolyte of pain is a great substitute for draw. It can be a concern that it will be destroyed and not damaged however, which prevents you drawing those cards. Battlecry draw is my preference.

Well the deck has been performing super well for me. I took out one fight promoter for an acolyte. I'm 6-3 with the deck so far :)
Why not Bonemare instead of the Don? I am using the Don now myself as you suggest, and it is fun, I admit. Just wondering if there is a larger strategic thought here I'm missing?
Cool, a Keleseth buffadin list! I made a similar deck a day ago, but I can appreciate that having two copies of Mindbreaker can lend a great consistency to it that I hadn't considered. I'll try out a modified version of your list as soon as I can. Cheers!
Generally doing well today. But, the risk is always there you get too many big minions in your opening hand and can't get started. If you stall, you're dead. Too bad, because when it works it is amazing. Then again, maybe it's just my gameplay. :)
Similar to my decklist. Requires some play time to understand but once you understand making the value trades and baiting certain removals, but I've climbed this whole season with this deck and didn't drop a game from rank 10 to 5. Haven't tried pushing pass it yet. Happy with 5 for now :)
But I do agree...the tech cards may be ill statted, but once buffed, they are great bodies without being used for tech.

Not too big of a difference really. My line of thinking was :
- Many minions have taunt already in this deck and i don't really feel like that aspect will be of much value in this deck
- playing mindbreaker means i wont be summoning recruits as often which means less potential targets for bonemare
- bonemare 1 health less of survivability on the body itself and gives a slightly smaller buff.
- bonemare can not be played with chillblade champion to charge. don can buff chillblade in hand.
- hand buff allows the element of surprise for what is buffed
- don allows you to hold the buffed minion and play it at a strategically chosen moment, rather than having to use it on whatever you have already played. this also lets you bait some removal with don first before you play the buffed minion.
- you don't necessarily need 2 minions on board at once if you are trying not to over extend at any point
Also, it can surely suck if you end up with big minions in your opening hand. Although i always try to find keleseth, i try not to be too greedy when i mulligan. I usually won't keep anything that costs more than 3; i will often only keep one 3-drop and maybe two 1-drops if i have them ( but never both smugglers run) .
Interesting deck. Question though... why choose Don Han'Cho over Bonemare? Bonemare costs the same has one less health itself and you give up +1/+1 on the buff but its impact is more immediate, predictable and you also get the added Taunt value.
EDIT: Doh, the comment literally above me answers my question. :O
I have been playing a version of this deck inspired by this deck you made and came up with an "end of turn" flavored deck. It is real fun but still need to test a lot. One game I had 2 Young Priestess and a Drakkari Enchanter on board, it made my opponent crazy, hahaha ....

Might take this for a spin.
Subs for missing cards ...

Oooooh this looks awesome! Nice!
I wanna try this but unfortunately missing 3 legends.
This looks really cool....will be trying it.

Well done! It certainly catches people off-guard. I got a nice win streak myself last night. :)
It is definitely key to try and play as many minions with 4 attack as you can against priests!

One more post, sorry -
No weapons... do you think rallying blade would help with early threat removal?
