Let's see what everyone likes about the new set and why. In your post list your favorite cards and a short description about why they are your favorites. I went over all of the cards and narrowed it down to 10. Even if you only have a few that you are psyched about then go ahead and say why.
1. Mayor Noggenfogger - I tend to like cards that aren't obviously viable but have potential, and this is one of those. It can seriously hinder the opponents plans if your game plan allows for this. It's a shame that it's mana cost is so high, because it's basically your whole turn to play.
2. Small-Time Recruits - This card has so much value. People play Arcane Intellect for 3 mana and is considered a benchmark draw card. This draws you an additional card and you can build your deck around drawing specific cards from your deck. Some notable 1 drop minions to grab are Sir Finley Mrrgglton, Shifter Zerus, and Weasel Tunneler.
3. Devolve - A great card in control match-ups. When your opponent has death-rattle, persistent effect, or just high stat minions, this is the card to use.
4. Potion of Madness - Priest got crazy cards this expansion and I think this is the strongest. Most aggro decks right now have lots of 1 or 2 attack minions and if you can deal with 1 or 2 of them for a single mana then you'll be able to survive for so much longer.
5. Kazakus - Clearly the card that will be the most fun. It has incredible versatility, but will take a skilled player to identify the best combinations for the right circumstance.
6. I Know a Guy - The discover mechanic is probably the most enjoyable mechanic in Hearthstone right now. Raven Idol is comparable to this card and is widely used in Druid. I expect this card to see play in control/anti-aggro warriors to find the best taunt for the match-up.
7. Weasel Tunneler - I wish there were more cards that manipulated your opponents cards. For 1 mana you can basically ruin your opponents draw in long games, which I can see being completely viable in some decks.
8. Dirty Rat - I like this card for the same reason as Weasel Tunneler. You can pull out cards your opponent plans to save and ruin their plans. That said, this card is probably best against control decks that play lots of battlecry minions, not so much against death-rattle or aggro decks. It's like a cheaper Ancestor's Call if you want to mess up your opponent's flow.
9. Madam Goya - I can't think of a great combo for this card right now, but I imagine it'll be cancerous like Barnes can be. Gives great value to the card being returned to your deck and you get the full stats of whatever you pull. The cons are that it costs 2 more mana and pulls the original from your deck instant of making a copy. Clearly good with large minions.
10. Getaway Kodo - This will be a nice card with battlecry minions. Even if it just returns a decently sized minion for value it will probably be played.
All new Pirate Warrior additions. Patches the Pirate is very good. Small-Time Buccaneer also is pretty sweet. Then Hobart Grapplehammer, the card that worth testing despite some tempo loss. And even Naga Corsair, cheap and faster replacement for Greenskin, worth trying as for me. That deck should rock!
Some other cards are pretty good as well, but these ones I will try first.
Thanks for making such a positive thread, too much negativity lately.
1. Mayor Noggenfogger - What can i say, i loved Mogor so i cant help but love this even more. Extremely hard to evaluate this card i must say. Absolutely a mustcraft thats how much i do know however.
2. Kazakus - Very unique effect. I imagine thisll be a ton of fun to use and learn when to create a 1 mana spell and when 10 mana etc.
3. Weasel Tunneler - The effect is silly, tye art is silly, the name is silly. Everything about this card is just so silly i cant help but love it.
4. Madam Goya - I think my reaction to this cards reveal wouldve been worthy of a reaction video of some sort. Never before have i went "Omg omg" over well... anything ever. The meme potential was too high for my mortal comprehensio .
5. Backstreet Leper - Just wanna know what its sound effects are lol.
6. Big-Time Racketeer - Wombo combo rogue incoming boys. Cant wait to try it out.
7. Cryomancer and Freezing Potion - Kinda wanna try out a tempo freeze mage of some sort. Will have to see what i can figure out for that deck to make it shine.
8. Finja the Flying Star - I think the potential is there in combination with certain Warleaders for example.
9. Grimestreet Informant - The only Hunter deck i like is my Reno Control Hunter and i think thisll fit there amazingly. Has the potential to give me heals which Hunter lacks.
10. Krul the Unleashed - I believe this card actually has potential when only using it to play just one or two demons rather than a whole bunch of them. Always exciting to try and prove people wrong about cards.
11. Manic Soulcaster - I love Mill Druid, so i think i'm willing to give Mill Mage a chance too.
12. Shadow Sensei - Don't think it'll be too good, but i'm still pretty excited to try out stealth rogue nonetheless! I think if Shaku works with something, its with this card.
13. Wrathion - Man i love dragon decks. A lot. Like a lot a lot. Dragon Pally best pally. Will be interesting to balancw the correct amount of dragons when using this.
14. Potion of Madness - I love Shadow Madness. That should already be enough said.
Thats quite a list of cards there, but i really do want to try these in action already. My favorite thing is experimenting, thats how i personally have fun in this game even if i am not succesful with it sometimes.
My two favorite cards of the set are Kabal Trafficker & Genzo, the Shark . I feel like these cards can be very powerful in the right decks and the design to me is pretty sweet. Most likely going to craft golden cards out of these.
They might seem like small cards, but Dragonfire Potion, Dirty Rat and especially Pint-Size Potion. This is just because my favourite deck was Monkey Priest, before Standard. Dragonfire Potion seems like it replaces Lightbomb and Dirty Rat seems like it replaces Deathlord, so I might just be able to dust off my old list and sub these in (after figuring out some sub for Velen's Chosen). And most importantly, there's finally a Shrinkmeister replacement! It was always such a fun card to play, stealing Ysera with Cabal Shadow Priest never got old, and it felt like a card with a massive skillcap - when do I play it for tempo, when do I hold for value? So glad to see this effect back. Oh, and Potion of Madness is great as well - Shadow Madness might be my favourite card in the game, so I'm really looking forward to playing 4 (kinda) in a deck, especially with the Pint-Size Potion! Oh, I am so glad to see Priest back in the game.
And Kazakus is just so crazy I have to try him, so that'll be fun.
