Savjz's Questzakus Control Mage as of 2017-11-11. Last edition. Sadly w/o Marin again.
I really like the deck but against any face deck it's just too slow. Not enough answers for threat after threat after threat.
could you add a sorc apprentice and a molten reflection to add a potential second win condition?
Is kazakus necessary to this deck?
Kazakus is the only reason why you want to play quest mage singleton deck. It gives you insanely powerful spell and quest progress.
If you don't have it, you should play classic quest mage or a version with giants.
If you are running this deck archtype, yes it is necessary to run Kazakus, however at this point of time I do not recommend crafting Kazakus, unless you. (A) Plan on playing a lot of singleton Priest/Mage/Warlock this meta, for the next 4-5 months. (B) Plan on using him in a lot in Wild. Or (C) Just really like the card. This is all my opinion however.
Nice deck, thank you. I do not have Burgly Bully, so I replaced with Kabal Chemist. Is there a better alternative?
I am not sure if it's better, but Elise the Trailblazer or Mukla, Tyrant of the Vale should work, too.
I crafted a deck similar to this, though this one makes up for all the mistakes I made when crafting my own. Going to play around with this list, it looks solid and fun.
Any replace for Simulacrum × 1 i dont have only that card.
Molten Reflection
Molten Reflection
I wonder why he left the Molten Reflection out... I guess he figured it's easy enough because of all the extra late-game options, although the whole point of the Alex/Giant combo is to reduce the opponent to 15 HP, so that you can duplicate the giant and do 16 face damage during the next turn. Right now, it's only a finisher combo if the opponent is already down to 8 HP, right?
I had to sub out Frost Lich Jaina with something, so I'm trying Medivh, the Guardian for the value. Although I'm wondering if the deck would be better served by just adding that Molten Reflection, since that one card is all it takes to pull off the "real" combo. Oh wait a minute, I just remembered that Simulacrum is there to duplicate the giant before it's played on the board, so lemme see... You put your two 8/8 giants out on the board for 0 mana, then play the quest for 5, end turn, now you've got 16 damage on the board and you play Alex... Yeah, okay, I get it now.
Just gotta deal with taunts beforehand, maybe with that extra 5 mana on the first turn. Hmmm... Now that I realize that, I'm wondering if there would be a better sub instead of Medivh... I was thinking about Ysera since it kinda fills a stalling role, but I dunno.
is this actually useful for climb?
Not really, like all control decks now except priests and druids.
warlock is still a strong control class.
In wild, renolock is a super popular thing
Nice deck, thoughts on adding sindragosa? I like the combo with Frost Lich Jaina.
The main premise of the deck is to use the combo. Frost Lich Jaina is used as a stalling tool until you can complete the Open the Waygate and use Arcane Giant and Alexstrasza as a finisher.
