Hello everyone! I'm Spark, Legend player from France. Today I wanted to share with you my updated Control Shaman, which is designed to beat consistently Aggro decks while still keeping up against Reno decks.
As always, it runs the full set of board clears to annihilate the swarm of aggro decks. You also have access to a solid healing potential thanks to Healing Wave and Hallazeal the Ascended. On top of that, I'm also running Earth Elemental with a single Ancestral Spirit to prevent further aggression.
With all the overload cards in the deck, Lava Shock is a natural choice to compensate the downside while adding a little bit of damage to control some minions. Lightning Bolt help dealing with early aggression and Hex is obviously here to deal with stronger threats.
Besides the standard set of Control tools, I chose to run something different from my previous N'Zoth, the Corruptor variant. This time I'm using Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound instead!
As I want to optimize the chance of getting a solid Barnes play, the deck almost only runs valuable targets for it! That's why I chose to run Ancestral Knowledge and Feral Spirit instead of Azure Drake and Thing from Below.
To make use of Barnes and Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound, I chose to run solid win conditions : White Eyes, Emperor Thaurissan, Sylvanas Windrunner, Ragnaros the Firelord and Ysera.
Update
As the Miracle Rogue matchup felt really annoying and Aggro Shaman gave me a little bit more issue than expected in the long run, I tweaked the deck a little bit.
I'm now running Devolve to deal better with Miracle Rogue boards and Shaman Aggro when you can't really clear them properly.
Stormcrack comes in to deal with 4-health minions such as Totem Golem and Azure Drake.
Finally, I added the second Ancestral Spirit for its synergy with the win conditions and Barnes summoning mechanic.
Replacements
Please don't ask for replacements, I know the deck is pretty expensive but it's just impossible to find similar win conditions in term of value and synergy.
However, If you only lack 2 of the final conditions, it is possible to replace them with a combination of Cairne Bloodhoof and N'Zoth, the Corruptor. And if you only lack one you can run this set up as well by giving up on Ancestral Spirit. Malygos is also a fine win condition although a bit more situational.
Matchups & Mulligan
I've written a full in-depth guide about the deck at Good Gaming. I definitely recommend to give it a check if you want to learn how to pilot the deck properly.

Results
I'm eating Aggro decks all day long with this build and Reno decks aren't really an issue. Jade Druid is obviously an awful matchups as the Jade Golem are just getting out of Control.
I hit Legend on EU during S34 using mostly this deck. Here are my win-rates :
Gameplay Video
Here is a cool win streak I've had on stream facing some aggro decks and a renolock (french commentary)
Bonus : N'Zoth Jade Variant
As a bonus, here is my other Control Shaman build, which is centered around N'Zoth and Jade synergies : Jade Zoth Control Shaman
The deck also counters pretty well aggro decks but feels slightly less efficient to me, feel free to try it as well ;)
Closing
I hope you'll enjoy the deck as much as I do and maybe it can help you reach Legend this season. Don't forget to show your support by upvoting the deck if you liked and don't hesitate to discuss about it or ask any question in the comment section below ;)

Looks very fun! Just missing Y'shaarj... I think i'll try the Cairne+N'Zoth variation, so...
Also do have you any viable Druid list (not only Jade) with this kind of control? :)
Thanks, yeah the N'Zoth variant should be fine as well ;)
Well for Druid I only run a standard Jade Druid, not too much into this class but I know there is some Ramp/Combo lists out there ^^
Very good deck! I've tried to remove 1 elemental destruction and added second anc spirit, but it didnt work well. Im still not very sure about y'shaarj though, i didnt get any value of it, bad luck with barnes I guess. I will keep testing it
Yeah all the board clears are mandatory to ensure you can deal with different kind of boards. Y'Shaarj is mostly here to make sure you have a final threat against Control decks, and for its obvious synergy with Barnes, but not relying on it though
I just won my last game with Barnes and Y'Shaarj dream RNG on Turn 4, opponent told me: "I chose death" :D
Ahah yeah feels good :D
I'm at rank 5 now, playing basic mid range shaman but this looks really fun.. Although every time I play a new deck I lost quite a bit until I learn how to pay it.
Yes that's why I always recommend going into Casual play before using it in Ranked :)
Would Hogger fit in this deck as well as synergy with Barnes and Healing Wave ( 6 Mana cost Minion)? I would cut a lightning bolt then.
Not a bad choice indeed, not so useful against Control but it's a decent tech :)
I tested him some matches: In 2 games he was a "win more" card; against 2 Mage matchups he was a poor victim 2 times because of T7 Flamestrike,; in 3 other games I played him on T6 so the opponent had to deal with him which helped because he forces an immediate answer; and in the last game it was Barnes who pulled him on T4.
I am still not sure if he is a too greedy win more card or a useful addition that is a pain in the ass for an opponent. Not because of the stats but because of the mechanic and possible Barnes interaction.
Yeah that's it. Moreover, I'm not sure how you can justify a spot instead of the other cards in the deck
that's it :D Thanks for the feedback!
I like this deck. - Ancestral knowledge + Madam Goja. Very funy))
Wow! Shiny *_*
Here is what we call an expensive deck xD
I feel better knowing that others spend absurd amounts of real money into Hearthstone and the stupid animated golden gifs, too. :-D
Whales like us keep this game f2p, at least I am telling me that to keep my mind sane lol
This deck is REALLY FUN! Here are some tips for people who aren't used to control shaman:
This deck has oppressive removal and the ability to challenge the opponent to remove huge threats. You're constantly making bets about how much damage your opponent can do with their board. Since you can win most late-game matchups, you just grind out the opponent until they can't remove a threat. Against aggro you play threats asap, against control you ideally wait until you're forcing them to use removal. Use AoE as soon as it's likely to be most valuable, consider whether it will be good next turn or this turn. Hold onto healing if you can use the mana for tempo and think you'll survive, but seriously consider the range of the class you're facing.
Yes that's a pretty good understanding of the general strategy of the deck :)
I considered it and toyed with various iterations using it, ended up being fine with Healing Wave and Hallazeal and I wanted to focus heavily on a solid Barnes usage.
You could still run it but Bolt is just too much of a necessity, can't cut it
If you really want, maybe cut a Feral Spirit for it, I don't feel like it's really better though
