Miniguide:
Ideal starting hand can be slightly different depending on vs class. If vs druid, I actually want Glide in hand just in case they play Juicy Psychmelon so I can throw that shit right back in lol. In general I want my deathrattle minions in hand and possibly an Immolation Aura vs board spamdecks.
Ideal plays. Educated Elekk should be used in one of 2 ways. Firstly comboing with spells yourself, ideally Mana Burn and Eye Beam. Secondly, as a stall to an expected swing turn. For example turn 6 before Commencement or Guardian Animals. even though these spells might not be ideal for your deck, it might serve as a deterrent for your opponent to play them until elekk is removed. I've had multiple spell heavy opponents concede simply because they didnt want to interact with that card.
Burn combos:
King Mukla to fill opp hand into Coldlight Oracle or killing a Dancing Swords
Obviously Brann Bronzebeard Coldlight Oracle
Playing Mana Burn on these same turns is extra spicy
Ideally you should set yourself up with Emperor Thaurissan to discount a 8+ hand
Niche cards:
Firstly I think Star Student Stelina is pretty trash. It has a cool effect but it's only on outcast...wtf blizzard?! This is only in deck because this was the free card they gave me. There is no way I'd crapft such a niche and hard to get value from card. If you dont own this, just add a second Vulpera Scoundreland hunt for more Mana Burn s or tools you feel needed for your matchup. Ok, now that I'm done bitching on how poor this "legendary" is. When to play Stelina depends solely on knowing your matchup and what your opponent might have. For example, playing before a deathknight or galakrond turn. If they played Kronx Dragonhoof, you know they have it. In the match I posted a screencap off below, I played Stelina after he played Ysera, Unleashed and kicked hisUltimate Infestation out. It's really about know what dumbshit your opponent does lol. Swing turn killer Stellina. It'd be good if it wasnt outcast. Forcing something left and locking other left outcast cards out is annoying.
Glide. Oh glide. The combo breaker. As I already stated it's a play to counter things like Juicy Psychmelon, shadowstepped cards, and other obvious tutored out cards. Ideally you dont want to lower your own handsize to play it. King Mukla or milling before glide can be decent if you dont like your hand/dont have a follow up to further mill. Glide will also force fatigue dmg when your opponent has less than 4 cards in hand and empty deck.
I think I've said enough about about elekk. They get summoned by N'Zoth, the Corruptor, so your end game adds more cards to your deck, has 2 decent taunts(Deathlord) and 2 mill Dancing Swords. I switched over to playing a standard again with new expansion but this was the one wild deck i had to try after getting Stelina.
Good luck. Enjoy.
testing a possible new asshole strat
might try a version with fragments.
Hard to tell how good this deck is when every opponent is a fucking baby and ragequit after one or two burnt cards.
Had a complete match vs burn mage. He got rekt. Not sure he realized he was giving me spells by braindead flamewalker spamming with my elekk on board.
This is a Ramp/Ysera Druid. This poor soul gave me a posion seeds which I ended up using and then clearing his whole board of what used to be RNG big dragons. By this picture you might think he was winning. He/she sure probably thought they were. He also gave me like 4 armor cards....basically he kind of defeated himself/herself. Respect The Elekk! Endgame he got me down to ten then i gained 12 armor and played glide when he only had two cards left in hand and he died with a -9 level fatigue.
Really looking forward to trying this. Clever idea dude, I’ve been trying to find a good fit for glide and so far haven’t had success but this is exactly my kind of fun deck to play so thanks man! Woo
Tempted to make some sort of smooth sailing-glide joke.hehehe...good luck in your games.
After trying it for a while I discovered a new interaction that could improve the deck!
If you play augmented elekk before glide you can basically go infinite so long as you have a second glide and augmented elekk in hand! it is a weaker dead man's hand but still pretty cool. Alternatively if you have an educated elekk on board you only need an augmented elekk in hand and play the glide. Best targets to shuffle in would be n'zoth + card draw to keep control/ cycling.
That's not a new interaction lol.
Personally, I haven't had any match ups where I actually wanted more glides which is why is doesn't have a shoutout as ideal combo. Post Nzoth play is only is only time I'd consider going for that which at that point they are approaching less than 4 handsize.
Also keep in mind elekk has to die to be shuffle in. Aka be wary of Hex Devolving Missiles Sap Vanish Consume Magic (Rogue kickbacks are fucking stupid)...Plague of Death Plague of Murlocs Devolve
Inspired by you're deck i've made a different version.
The interaction with Augmented Elekk and not Educated Elekk does alow you to go infinite.
This indeed requires an Augmented Elekk on the board, an Augmented Elekk on hand. Then with both Glide on hand will shuffle your hand (minus the cast Glide ) into your deck which will be duplicated by the Augmented Elekk on board, reshuffeling one elekk and 2 glides into your deck. Try and use N'Zoth, the Corruptor for insane value.
The version I made does not try to burn cards but dilute the opponents deck with low-value cards.
Like adding 4 banannas to the oppents deck with King Mukla + Glide + Augmented Elekk.
The Augmented Elekk will also duplicate the opponents hand going into their deck.
Next to this I added Bad Luck Albatross to further dilute their deck. Together with the Augmented Elekk 4 albatros will be shuffled into their decks instead of 2. This results in insane loss of value for your opponents when you Glide their hand into there decks, and them leaving the new 4 cards with high change of an albatros or a banana.
It is really fun to play, thank you for your inspiration.
lol thats funny but can easily backfire by giving them more legendaries.
If you going to go that route, N'zoth has a little less value and you should consider cards like
Weasel Tunneler Booty Bay Bookie Hoarding Dragonmaybe Fishflinger Tanglefur Mystic Griftah (oh how i hate this is legendary)
That is a possibility, but you control if you want to duplicate their hand or not. So far it has not been a problem.
Playing priest and druids and reshuffling their 9 card hands back in their deck feels good.
Nzoth helps extend your deck and much needed healing as well as more albatross for annoing your opponent. Coins are not good to give. I'm also using Cho to add additional spells or to make them think about using superiors in the first place.
You can check my deck out in my profile under decks if you like.
coins are the best things to shuffle in their deck and likely to cause ragequit.
Funny i originally though of cho when i first read your comment. Coins and the outlast pull spell are only things id probably want to give a copy of though.
Im guessing youre running the reborn 6 cost taunt since you said healing.
This is the deck I'm using:
Shuffling the coins are indeed nice haha.
I can understand reasons for majority of it but why sightless watcher?
For digging the combo pieces or topdecking taunt.
I'm also tempted to play less outcast cards so that double jump will always find skull or glide.
Wow this is fucking sick so good to see a deck that isn't straightforward play the strong card and win (I mean I can't say much seeing what I've made) but this is super cool to see +1
I play mostly meme or "oh shit what was that combo?!" decks. I've made some straight forward decks but typically get bored fast. It's basically.."Okay, I know that works now...NEXT!"
I like ya cut g
I would love to give this a try as well, any advice or would be willing to make a general guide?
It's not as straight forward as mill druid or the obvious braindead easy rogue so I'll update with a little later.
Updated. Enjoy.
