This deck truly has no bad matchups. Running from diamond 10 to legend in two weeks with a 69% win-rate.
You have 4 "win-conditions":
- The Fist of Ra-den + 1-cost spells = Reliquary of Souls, you can use with Cobalt Spellkin
- Highlander cards + Barista Lynchen - Just amazing cards in general
- Galakrond, the Tempest - Great for tempo and to survive until later parts of the game
- Archivist Elysiana for winning longer games, even fatigues priest in most cases
Game plan:
- Aggro
Survive -> Win
Mulligan for Galakrond-related cards and board clears - Mid-Range
There are not a lot of mid-range decks on the ladder at the moment. Galakrond-kit is great with establishing board, and late-game you should just win. Be careful with using board clears too early as you only have 2-3 per game.
Mulligan for Galakrond-related cards - Control
The Fist of Ra-den + 1-cost spells = Reliquary of Souls
If you can't get Reliquary off the effect, don't worry. The effect is still good and has the potential to summon 8 minions with the effect of Hoard Pillager
Just got legend with highlander mage. This is a 'fun' deck:) But it gets owned by priest and dh and just about everything else in the competitive meta.
So far 65% WR, currently 29 - 15.
Storming through gold. Very decent deck .
I would change Lady Vashji cause she doesnt help at all.
, Dragons Pack because its a dead card and with that little invoke and carddraw its hardly usable on turn 5-7 (where u need it)
Elysiana another high card.
I would try more aggro cards like the LackeyTotem etc. to at least survive the early game in 50% of all games.
Deck struggles against rogue, they have all the answers and can put too much pressure. Hunter if you dont draw WitchesBrew and HighlanderHunter is too much pressure same as DH. Deck has good chances against control, especially Priest that is also slow.
If the meta is only aggro I agree that some minor changes should be made to the decklist. You could be right that Elysiana is not needed.
With dragons pack, I would say it's a decent card even as a 5 mana summon two 2/3 with taunt, and if you get the bonus it's obviously superb.
Regarding adding more aggro cards - I don't see how a 0/2 totem would help you to survive early. I personally have solid games against both Zoolock and DH. Sometimes if your draw is bad - yes it's going to be a hard matchup. Hunter is a hard matchup, I agree on that. Midrange decks can be super hard to deal with unless you manage to get an early board or have board clears on hand. I don't think, however, the healing-part is the problem against hunter. Let me know if any replacements work better for you.
the totem is amazing, I even try totemic reflection to buff it. The 2dmg Lackey helps me alot against aggro and all other Lackeys are totally OP thats why rogue is so difficult to play against.
I had better games if I zephrys early and then bounce it back but I dont use Barista I used the 2 mana minion.
Also Siamat is a consideration because its versatile. Or Black Knight (I almost had a use for him in any game esp. against druid or getting rid of that invoke taunt)
I assume the Earthshock is for Rogue vs. vanCleef? I also took it out
69% winrate out of 1 game :D
upvoted because ..... you know .............. the 69 ........... in the 69% winrate
Not a good deck because there's no decent card draw. No reaction vs DH or Rogues.
I don't have Lady Vashj yet. Would some good replacements be Bloodmage Thalnos , Maiev Shadowsong, Siamat or The Lurker Below
I would say all of those are solid replacements. Let me know what works best for you. It all depends if you are struggling against aggro/control. Could also consider Brightwing besides the cards you mentioned and even Acidic Swamp Ooze
I like it and it works really well but my own concern is the prime, sometimes it draws my one costs and makes them zero. Maybe we can add some four drop spells so they can draw into 1 drops.
Fair point. I'd say not focus too much on trying to get Reliquary off the weapon-effect. If you manage to get a couple, that's obviously great, but most of the time I'd use it maybe once or twice to get Reliquary, then use the other's on random casts. You have a lot of 2-cost spells which can yield you Astromancer Solarian, Murgur Murgurgle
There are those matches tho against like priest where you really di need to get the Relinquary and it's pretty rare and easy to play around but maybe (<5/40) Vash has just ruined my late game strategy but those games were pretty iffy already. It's just sometimes counter intuitive to play Vash in some games.
I haven't crafted Vash yet, but planning to start this month with this deck - question is, how good is Vash in general / how important is she for this deck over many games?
I would say that Lady Vashj is a nice-to-have but not really necessary. I would be looking at replacements around Brightwing or Maiev Shadowsong , a more budget option would be Acidic Swamp Ooze
Other replacements are possible too, let me know what works for you
I have not tried replacing Vash yet, but could certainly play around with some replacements. I would say it's good for draw and tempo, but usually, you don't need it that much anyway. What about replacing it with Brightwing ?
9-3 atm. First 2 matches were vs DH, lost both.
Playing around with some of the cards - trying out a mini-dragon package with Brightwing, Squallhunter, Alex and a Lightning Breath. Haven't drawn Squallhunter yet, but Brightwing has been ok-ish. Received Siamat and Dinotamer Brann as great pickups, while Boommaster merely was a 7/7 for 7.
Merely in the platinum right now, but 4-3 vs DH are fine stats!
Have had a fair amount of Reliquaries, but havent played the prime version yet ;-). Been nice out-valueing rogues though!
69% Percent is number of games u quit rage. This deck is really bad - no chance against aggro dh and hunters, outvaluated by rogue, warlock and priest, too many dead cards - i.e.: hagatha - super slow card with uncertain proactive effect, hoard pillager - u dont have time to play with your 1/4 weapon while your opponents board is full, archivist elysiana - rarely, if u make it to the late game, u just get tons of sh**ty cards and still loose.
The deck is by no means S-tier. There should be absolutely no misconception about that. Does it suck - I'd say no. Here's why:
Against DH - Yes this is a hard matchup, you need to not get unlucky with your draws in the early game. However, with some practice to the deck, I'd say you adjust to manage about 50% against this class.
Against Rogue, Warlock and Priest - These are the best matchups for this deck (maybe rouge being slightly harder)
The deck outvalues in the long run in almost all games. Is it greedy? Maybe. But it's fun
100% agreed. I honestly don´t understand how is this deck popular. I´ve never been so disappointed with deck from "week - top".
