100% fun, promise!
This deck features a special version of Recruit Warrior by making use of Drakkari Enchanter and Grand Archivist. Therefore, the BIG minions in the deck are mainly minions with an end of turn effect.
The Grand Archivist combo normally either pulls a Dead Man's Hand, Shield Block or Ironforge Portal which also pretty much helps to survive, especially if you also have a Drakkari Enchanter on the board. Dead Man's Hand gives you plenty of spells and minions more in your deck. :D
Mountainfire Armor, Rabid Worgen, Direhorn Hatchling and Rotten Applebaum are mainly used in the early phase of the game to keep you alive from aggro decks.
Edit: Removed the The Boomship and a Direhorn Hatchling to add Archmage Vargoth and Dimensional Ripper.
Try and see by yourself how powerful this deck is! Once your big ones are coming out, it's hard to beat!
Grand archivist seems absolutely horrible in this.. (keeps executing my stuff etc)... what am I missing?
While two Grand Archivists for a six-spell deck may be excessive, you CANT Execute your own stuff (Execute says 'enemy minion').
None of the spells in this deck have a chance to hurt you nor benefit your enemy. They are all target-less or target enemies only.
One of the cool things about Grand Archivist, it wont cast a spell with no valid targets, either, so, it wont cast Execute UNLESS there is a damaged enemy minion to kill.
Personally, I would go down to one Grand Archivist and run either a second Execute or a second Dead Man's Hand (although I sort of get why just one Dead Man's Hand, since to get the infinite combo you need to time it right, and Grand Archivist makes that difficult).
Sorry. My mistake & example fail.
Will experiment. Maybe a Gather your party. Swapped the fiery war axe for a second blood razor too.
Thanks for the deck + the reply 😁
Thanks for the reply, could not have explained it better!
For me, the Grand Archivists are actually the most important parts of the deck and are very useful in each match actually. In my past 20 matches or so, Execute executed from Grand Archivist turned out to be helpful in only 1 match for now. However, having one Execute on hand certain times can help to remove any big thread or helps to remove a Doomsayer, so I kept it in the deck.
I'm actually not quite sure about Dead Man's Hand if it is so useful. It is only useful if you encounter many mill decks, but even then I'm not so sure.
Unfortunately, Warrior does not have that many other useful spells which would match this deck a bit better. Maybe I'll try with Unidentified Shield a bit.
Thank "you" for the reply :)
You can swap the Fiery War Axe with a second Blood Razer. I personally feel that the deck can sometimes not compete with faster decks if RNG is bad and Fiery War Axe is one mana less and can help in such situations. The Blood Razer effect is not very important for this deck and may only help to Execute.
This deck is amazing, It needs a bit of draw though.
Thank you very much!
The Grand Archivist and Shield Block combo can sometimes generate more cards. Sure, I think more cards are always useful, but for me it did never feel like I had nothing to play.
For more card draw I suggest you try to add a Acolyte of Pain since I'm not sure if a Battle Rage does help since most of the time you will not have any damaged minions on the field. The Acolyte of Pain is also fine in case it's recruited! Otherwise I do not see many other viable options.
I take back my previous comments I just had few very unlucky draws in a row. Since then have been on a tear with this deck!
