Did anyone else watch the stream? Apparently we will get a golden version of this as a log-in reward. The guy also said you probably won't want to disenchant this.
My guess is one of the remaining quests is "Adapt 8 times" or something along those lines, or that there will be a Brann for Adapt. There might even be a Yogg for how many Adapts you've made instead of spells cast, though I doubt this one.
Maybe even something like a 10 cost 3/3 Battlecry: For everytime you've Adapted this game, Adapt
Thing is, Brann is rotating out, so maybe for wild players this might be some value
he's saying that another brann version might come out just like elise trailblazer, but this brann makes you adapt 2 times instead of battlecry activating 2 times from regular brann
and Routanne, maybe that paladin legend is "adapt for each time you atapted this game"
I'm thinking that might be a good possibility. You could quite possibility end up with a 15/15 windfury/stealth :D
Fun Fact: Even if you could only adapt once with this card, if you put Windfury on it it would be Strictly Better than Grotesque Dragonhawk. And you can THEN add +3 health, or Stealth or Divine Shield.
Grotesque Dragonhawk is COMPLETE SHIT.
favorite card in the set so far...... for adapt cards kappa
Can't be targeted by spells or hero power + Stealth until your next turn = OP!!!
Stealth is enough. +windfury
He was making a joke. Maybe it's too much twitch streaming, but I've noticed here if you don't explicitly say "kappa", people take whatever is said completely seriously.
I really want to get an answer on why they chose this text instead of Adapts twice
Because one happens before the other one, but anyway, the text box is an approximation of what the programmed string really says, hearthstone's text box are not absolute like MTG, in HS the real string dominate over the textbox, in MTG the text box dominate over rules, so sometimes in HS you get weird interaction
It's like saying Brann Bronzebeard text should be
"Your Battlecry abilities trigger a second time"
that's how i would describe it
i think "then" is not an official keyword, but it should be
and i don't like the fact that they write battlecries, since the keyword is battlecry
but the truth is, i think they write the text to use less possible words with most meaning...anyway, i was shocked first time i use Djinni of Zephyrs with Entomb..... and then see my Djinn go into my deck...whaaaat ??
I wouldn't have used Battlecries trigger then trigger with Brann Bronzebeard as you can't get a second target for the battlecries. You can get two discoveries but only one target for the rest. Here I guess it clears the doubt about whether it was twice the same adapt or possibly two different adapts. With Volcanosaur, it's clearly the later.
My guess? It's written this way to avoid ambiguity on whether the effect means "choose an adapt and apply it, then choose an adapt and apply it" or "choose an adapt and apply it twice".
Basically what Redjey just said in other words.
I don't see this being very powerful in constructed but definitely an auto-include in arena. Very good F2P card as well.
poisonous, windfury.
kappa
Ok so does this adapt 3 or 4 times with Brann? Because to my understanding it does NOT adapt 4 times with Brann Bronzebeard because then it would just say: Battlecry: Adapt 2 times like Galvadon says (or is supposed to say) Battlecry: Adapt 5 times.
So this to me works like Battlecry: Adapt (so with Brann this triggers 2 times), then Adapt - so with Brann you get 3 Adapts.
That seems very likely. Otherwise the wording is kind of awkward. I'd assume 3 instead of 4.That said, Brann's leaving Standard, so it won't matter much either way.
Edit: Although... the second adaptation is happening as a Battlecry, still. The wording may be awkward, but I think it actually is 4 times with Brann. There's no way that isn't part of the battlecry. Unless it works like, the battlecry goes off, the minion comes into play, and then you adapt again? The only reason to make that 2 separate things is to limit Brann's effect on the card, which would just be silly. And how would that work with something like Potion of Polymorph? Would it be sheeped before the second phase of its text activates? It just seems too weird to think it would work that way.
