I hope one day, Captain's Parrot can be viable. But with the nerf to Patches, that day may never come.

You know, now that Pirates are finally viable, I wonder if there could be a way to buff Captain's Parrot to make it usable. One idea would be making it a 2/2, or changing the cardtext to "Add a random Pirate to your hand" or "Discover a Pirate."

It would still feel a bit odd as a design, since pirate tribal is all about heavy early aggression while this thing is next to worthless for that.

It can sort of refill the hand, but pirate decks typically don't care about that: if the hand is running low and pirates aren't close to winning, they probably lost anyway. Or maybe it could just cost one mana or cost 2/2 as you say to be a discount hand refill.

Maybe it could work as something like "Battlecry: If you have a pirate, play a random pirate from your deck."

That may be too strong, but as a design it would fit the pirate strategy better.

Not even close...Acidmaw has board clear utility. 

 Literally JUST got the last pirate I would have needed to get this card today (South Sea Captain- actually had Greenskin for a long time now). Didn't even see the quest was being removed. RIP. Kind of hoping they add it to Classic packs or something too.

If I ever get extra dust and I already magically get all the legends for that expansion, I MIGHT if I think I could do it in a sick Wild gimmick deck.

Yes Blizzard made a statement which says ability to craft will be available on 4 may.

I Just Crafted the Captain Greenskin and 1 Southsea Captain to complete the pirate set but i have not received the captain's parrot cards .

I was unware that this gift would no longer be available.

I have all pirates (greenskin included - from packs), except the epic pirate with 3 mana cost.

If i craft a single one of this epic 3 mana cost pirate, will I get from Blizzard 400 or 800 dust (ie, dust for 1 or 2 captains parrot)?

Found the source. Some people got awarded dust instead earlier. Lucky them. Anyway, at least this is resolved for now!

So, today I got my dust from the nerfed cards. I'm only missing Greenskin for the Arrr quest. Can anyone confirmed that it's turned off? I don't see this card under the crafting tab.

I can't personally confirm it, but according to some comments, both on hearthpwn and hearthhead, it was not rewarded for those posters as of the most recent patch.

As for it not being craftable, it might have gotten overlooked during the preparations and will be craftable later on.

It is turned off, but if it's really something you wanted to do, you can craft Greenskin and send a ticket. Check here for details. I'm waiting on the ticket myself, but others have done it.

Also, reports are you get the full dust value instead of the cards. So two Captain's Parrots would mean you'd get 800 dust. So if Greenskin is a card you want, you'd essentially get him for half off!

I'm waiting on 1600 dust myself, for Old Murk-Eye. First nerfs, then this; today was a good day as far as dust goes!
