BikeCrash posted a message on [S31 R5] Ender's Shadow PriestPosted in: [S31 R5] Ender's Shadow PriestWhen Shaman hexes an early Injured Blademaster or Priest of the Feast you have to wait on the Resurrect game until later when your graveyard has better options in it. It can make for a rough game, but it's still winnable, especially because it means your Sylvanas Windrunner or Prophet Velen are more likely to survive if you can make it to the mid-game.
I think it's probably worth it to Shadow Word: Pain Totem Golem. It's too easy to get overrun if they stay on the board for more than a turn or two. It's better to rely on AOE for dealing with Thunder Bluff Valiant and tokens, and Mass Dispel can be a real star here when it neutralizes a board full of totems.
Healing frequently means making tough decisions about using spells like Holy Smite and Power Word: Shield early or saving them as activators for Priest of the Feast. Obviously it's situation dependent, but it's part of what makes the deck fun to play.

BikeCrash posted a message on [S31 R5] Ender's Shadow PriestPosted in: [S31 R5] Ender's Shadow PriestThis deck is a ton of fun to play. All of my heroes are at level 60 except Priest, and I've tried out a few Priest decks looking for something entertaining enough to ladder and level up with. This deck does both. I ranked up from 15 to 11 pretty quickly my first time playing this deck.
The combos available from Nexus-Champion Saraad and Confessor Paletress make the deck fun to play, and are usually very positive. Confessor Paletress into Tirion Fordring was good for a couple of wins. Confessor Paletress into a 2/2 Edwin VanCleef was painful. More so when Onyx Bishop resurrected him.
Best combo I've gotten from Nexus-Champion Saraad was Call of the Wild into Kill Command.
The deck has answers to everything, but can struggle with draw and consistency. Running into Hunter and drawing no minions and no cheap removal until turn 6 is a loss. But the same game drawing Wild Pyromancer, Power Word: Shield, Shadow Word: Pain, and Injured Blademaster makes for a fun game and a likely win.
The resurrection cycle popularized in Resurrection Priest with Injured Blademaster, Resurrect, and Onyx Bishop snowballs into pretty easy games if you draw into the cycle in the early game.
If you don't draw into this cycle, the mid- and late-game tools of Shadow Word: Death, Entomb, and the combo legendaries provide for strong tempo swings in your favor. The addition of Shadowform is great for pinging down aggro decks or chipping away at your opponent's health, and including Priest of the Feast and cheap spells ensures that you can continue to heal even with the shift in hero power.
I thought about taking out Eater of Secrets because it can be hard to find a good use for it, but after about 40 games I've run into enough Freeze Mages and Hunters that it's been pretty strong. Two Freeze Mages auto-conceded immediately after I ate their Ice Block.
Overall, the deck is fun and challenging, and is definitely a worthwhile Priest deck to check out.
Thanks, Ender.

diegofsv posted a message on make hearthstone more accessiblePosted in: General DiscussionWell, this game is really accessible right now. Damn, I was years without playing, just got back and faster than I thought, I got cards that I wanted and needed. Its really balanced and if you spent a little money, you can have a bunch of really competitive deck. the problem is F2P people wanting Legend Rank with barely a month of a new expansion launched in the competitive side of the game. It just dont work like that and it shouldnt. If you have all the decks out there for free this soon, whats the point of selling the expansions at all. Like was said here, You pay with money or you pay with time.

Waterbuf posted a message on Farming for Gold/Portraits on Rank 20. Should you do it?Posted in: General DiscussionPeople are allowed to play the game however they want. If their "enjoyment" comes from weird/compulsive behavior such as farming wins/gold/portraits at rank 20, so be it.
Honestly I pity those people. You are spending your time, your life, doing this. In my opinion you should enjoy it for what it is, a game. So for me, I just play the game and the in-game "rewards" are secondary.
If people want to spend their time doing this stuff, in my opinion the lack of enjoyment outweighs any potential advantages or 'gains' that you could get, from this type of behavior or strategy.

I have had the same troubles too =/
but I have figured out that the Resurrect way to win is not the way, since you just said why the match up is really hard (because of Hex) . I think the best way to beat shaman in the early game is to just hard mulligan for Wild Pyromancer and cheap spells like Holy Smite to really get the board cleared up and sort of just scale into the mid to late game. I have tried that strategy and it is the best odds to beating Shaman. They will end up hexing the Injured Blademaster but you kinda want that so that your Priest of the Feast can get a lot of value. Then you basically just control the board by resurrecting the Wild Pyromancer and clearing again to win. You will basically exhaust them from resources and their "big" threats. Also use Entomb on Azure Drake to get some more card draw; also that spell power goes a long way. Good luck!
UPDATE: Here is a match up that I had with a Shaman, and should typically go like this. It's a grind I will admit, but the game is very interesting and very fun.

@fur0 Great stuff man! Love your material and keep up the great work!
Also thanks for showing this match up, I have trouble playing against the N'Zoth Control Warrior build because they are more proactive than the pure Control Warrior counterpart. I think it is because with this match up, I feel the pressure when they start being more proactive on the board and I think I need to still approach this as reactive as possible. I tried to play this match up as a tempo-style but I always try to run faster than I can and start to tumble. Your video clearly shows exactly how to play it (even though your opponent clearly made huge mistakes playing the deck). So I want to say thanks again for your insights!
P.S.
I am sure someone has already answered your question, but when silencing a minion with deathrattle; if it dies, it still comes back with N'Zoth because N'Zoth's battlecry condition is met, so thats why Cairne Bloodhoof came back. Only hard removal like the Polymorph Boar play you did on Sylvanas Windrunner would prevent it from resurrecting with N'Zoth.

If you scroll down, just use Kodorider. I think that's a good sub for Nexus-Champion Saraad

I love this deck!
I played 24 games with it, and I can honestly say that @BikeCrash's analysis is spot on. The deck does seem to lack a little bit of draw, which would help out with some match ups to cycle properly for answers. For the most part, this deck does exactly what it is supposed to do. It pressures the early game with the Ressurect mechanic and has plenty of mid to late game pressure to close out the game. I am currently at 50% (24 total games) win rate at rank 11.I streaked from rank 18 to rank 12, then I would oscillate between 12-10 playing this deck, and the only reason why that is because of the lack of card draw to find answers that are needed. For the most part, the deck is extremely fun to play and is a fresh-new experience that everyone should give a try before some of these cards our out of the Standard.
Overall the deck is really fun and I hope people can give it a try. I will post some replays from the deck tracker or I suggest you watch end3r_hs stream to learn how to play the deck. It is a refreshing experience and will I am excited to see how the deck transcends in upcoming expansions.
Cheers!

Chakki made a great suggestion in value Town; for the people who do not have an account, they chat should be off and (my twist on it) even if they have an account, leave it turned off until the user decides to leave it on permanently or on their own basis. This definitely prevents people from seeing things said in chat. Moreover, it doesn't compromise the freedom of speech of people. I am for freedom of speech, but I also get really annoyed with the things that people say (at least the over the top stuff that is explicitly said to do harm). I know twitch chat is just twitch chat, but people should be more conscious and considerate about what they say.

The real question is: Do you regret not pre-ordering 50 packs? Unless hearthstone is your entire life and play all day to stay competitive then good for you, but most of us who buy and play are professionals in their respective field who enjoy playing a game they do not mind spending money on.

Not many cards will be able to take advantage of this (in the context of standard); can definitely see a mid-range hunter flourish with card
Polluted Hoarder
Bloodmage Thalnos
Sylvanas Windrunner
Leper Gnome
Huge Toad
well see what the rest of the set looks like...

Hearthstone is my first card game, and this is exactly why. So awesome that community is out there demonstrating that a card game is not just a game. A proud day for all of us statisticians, mathematicians, and/or anyone in a quantitative field.

I never thought android users would get salty over $4.99. If you want the new hero so bad then go to an Apple store, and ask the staff to download the game for you and buy it there.
