posted a message on New Mage Spell - Book of Specters

This is insane. Auto include for Wild Reno Mage. They play spells but most of their powerful effects like Reno, Kazakus and Jaina aren't. If you only play 5-10 spells you will draw 2.5 cards on average which is busted for 2 mana. Cards like Arcaneologist and Scientist help thin your deck of spells before firing this off too.

posted a message on The WORST Card In The Game!

The worst cards in the game are the ones that have similar cards that are strictly better and STILL don't see play, like Magma Rager and Booty Bay Bodyguard

    Nice!

I really wanted to get golden Voidlord and got Blubber Baron! Confirmed wishful thinking only works 50% of the time.

posted a message on I drank too much and crafted....

Amateurs. I crafted golden The Beast and golden King Krush with the introduction of Standard. My reasoning was that classic legendaries will be the most valuable for the rest of the game because they will always be available in Wild AND Standard. I was looking to craft legendaries from classic that I was missing at the time. I wasn't drunk or anything, but I was definitely very, very high.

posted a message on End of Year Rotation: Is Kripp correct?

Ice Block, Preparation, Leeroy and Alexstrasza will probably go. And then one other card you would least expect, because that's what usually happens. My guess is Raid Leader, lol

"As developers we try to ensure that every class gets an opportunity to shine as new expansions are released and new metagames develop. We have decided that it's Hunter's time to be at the top of the food chain. We were considering moving Unleash the Hounds to the Hall of Fame but ultimately decided against it for two reasons. First of all, Unleash the Hounds has been changed before, and we try to avoid making multiple changes to one card. Secondly, Unleash the Hounds has been a popular and iconic card in the Hunter's arsenal.

We are expecting minion combat to be one of the key features for The Year of the Rooster, and we are concerned with the powerful combination of Raid Leader and Unleash the Hounds vs. wide boards. Moving Raid Leader to the hall of fame allows us to keep Unleash the Hounds in Standard, and simultaneously eliminate what would be the most powerful combo in the format."

posted a message on How is yoir Dungeon run progress going?

Razakus Priest, Demon Reno, Exodia Mage with cheaper spells and Hourglass, Token Druid with Flag, Wee Beasts Hunter, Deathrattle Rogue, Recruit Paladin with Justicar's Ring, Totem Shaman with Flag, and Big Warrior with Cenarius Horn were my winning decks.

Some of those decks were pretty bad but some passives and treasures are so broken they just win games when drawn/discovered early.

Wax Rager is probably my favourite treasure. Can't remember ever losing a game when playing him in the early turns.

Same goes for Captured Flag. Whenever I got to pick that passive, I beat the dungeon.

posted a message on Better behavior in Wild

Greetings - use for when match begins or when opponent has relentlessly BM'd all game thinking they were winning and you are making a big play crushing their chances of winning.

Well played - use to compliment your opponent on a cool play or thank them for the game at the end of the match, win or lose. Preferably loser goes first but if the game was close or interesting it is perfectly fine to emote first as the winner. Under no circumstance use this when killing your opponent on turn 4-5 and he played like one fucking card.

Threaten - use when playing a meme deck and against all odds you have assembled your wombo combo. Only do this when the combo is like really dumb and you're expecting your opponent to appreciate it. Emote before delivering the combo. Don't use to express frustration, it only feeds trolls.

Oops - you fucked up and are not afraid to admit it. Don't use to point out misplays.

Thank you - this emote can only be used successfully by players who know their etiquette, as it often comes across sarcastic. Use to thank your opponent for a cool play your opponent complimented you on, but only if you feel both you and your opponent understand how emotes should work. Rexxar is too much of an asshole to ever pull this off. Not even The Queen could make Rexxar sound sincere. Never use this emote when you won the game and your opponent emoted WP.

Wow - use when a funny or extremely unlikely RNG result happens. Not for evolves into Doomsayers or stuff like that. If you have impeccable emote timing you can deliver the 1-2 punch of 'wow', 'well played' when your opponent does something super clever.

posted a message on Fiery War Axe replacement in Pirate Warrior

I've been thinking of a Fiery War Axe replacement for Pirate Warrior in wild. I think there's three potential options. Fiery War Axe is definitely out because King's Defender is a straight up better War Axe once the nerf kicks in.

King's Defender: The safest option. There is some synergy with Dread Corsair. I've tested quite a bit of games in casual and found that it's a very safe bet. Obviously the deck loses some power and speed, but I feel like Pirate Warrior with King's Defender will be strong enough to compete with the other top decks.

Cursed Blade: It looks like a crazy suggestion but it's a very powerful early game weapon in the right metagame. If aggro decks lose power and control/combo decks rise up, there is little that can happen to punish you for using this weapon. If Pirate Warrior will remain popular and you queue into versions running King's Defender, Cursed Blade is obviously a terrible choice. not to mention Aggro Druids who can punish you with even a relatively small board (Savage Roar, ouch). On the other hand, playing this and upgrading it turns it into an Assassin's Blade. That's nothing to scoff at on turn 1 or 2.

Molten Blade: I tried toying around with this card because I think it's a cool design and definitely makes playing Pirate Warrior more fun. The obvious weakness to this card is that it's a horrible topdeck. The big upside is that your opponent can't play around it and you can sometimes highroll a powerful weapon on curve that can straight up win games, especially with all the Upgrade effects in the deck. Some weapons that Warrior shouldn't have access to are very, very scary when upgraded. However, it's probably the weakest option because it's unreliable. Aggro decks need to limit RNG because consistency and powerful early game is what makes aggro decks good. Molten Blade can sit in your hand for many turns or you can topdeck it when you're looking to draw damage to close out the game. I did have fun winning a Pirate Warrior mirror with Piranha Launcher on curve. I kept upgrading it and trading. Eventually the value of the piranhas overwhelmed him and he was eaten alive.

Honorable mention: Arcanite Reaper. Death's Bite is already in the deck, and I believe Pirate Warrior needs to be more aggressive. Having too many high cost weapons in the deck will screw with your mulligans and early game.

Thoughts? Suggestions? I know discussing Pirate Warrior seems kind of lame, but it's interesting to think about what direction the deck is going in. I mean, I'm pretty sure it will just be King's Defender moving forward, but it's interesting to consider other options as well.

posted a message on [WILD] Headed for Legend! - S40 July 2017

Made legend with Token Druid. The metagame between rank 5 and legend was different than my climbs in the past few months. Pirate Warrior is not nearly played as much as before. Lots of Shaman in many different styles. Some aggro, some midrange, some jade-evolve, some control. Also lots of Reno decks. Mostly Renolock and Reno Mage but also Priests here and there. Freeze Mage also put up bigger numbers with Pirate Warrior's decline, as well as Jade Druid. Hunter nonexistent, Rogue and Paladin in very low numbers. I still believe Pirates is really powerful, but the many Shamans and Crawlers apparently pushed them to lower numbers.
