Enough things to fit in with established deck types and/or class identity.

samuellima91 posted a message on New Warrior Card - Dimensional RipperPosted in: NewsIt may not be the best card or even all that good, but it seems really fun to try building a deck around this. Ysera, Oondasta, Damaged Stegotron, Witchwood Grizzly, Amani War Bear, Big Bad Archmage, Blackhowl Gunspire (OH YES), Archmage Vargoth... There are a lot of possibilities. We will lose quite a few good survival tools, but i think we still have enough to make this work. I'm gonna give it a shot for sure!

IambicAvenger posted a message on New Hunter Card - ShimmerflyPosted in: NewsShimmerfly is probably better than Webspinner on average because a random Hunter spell (by definition a pool of only class cards) is better than a random beast (the pool for which includes crummy neutral cards). Webspinner saw plenty of play as a 1 drop that could help with deathrattle and beast synergies, so that might imply that Shimmerfly is also playable. But in a meta with Springpaw and without pre-nerf Undertaker, the case for playing it is a lot less compelling. There are several Hunter cards left to be revealed - if they provide enough of a deathrattle package, I think that will determine the final value of Shimmerfly.

You're being hyperbolic and dramatic, and without enough (any) data yet to back your claim. Odd/Even has been HoF'd and Death Knights are gone. Will things get crazy? I dunno, maybe, but "cancer" is gratuitously excessive, as is the implication that this set could be as strong, broken or frustrating as the entire Year of the Mammoth (or Raven, when combined with Mammoth) by itself.

Really digging the flavor and fantasy of this set so far. Humor, sure, because it's still Hearthstone, but the class identities, Warcraft representation and the finessed mechanics of old are really coming together for me. Seems like a great set for a new year rotation, whereas Witchwood last year seemed a little too quirky and niche (...and brought that Odd/Even stuff...).

Agreed. I think the pacing is great, there's discussion without dragging it out, and we are seeing new cards pretty rapidly. Much improved over last time.

Not saying it will be consistent, but could get some work done with Dollmaster Dorian.

I'm half joking, half serious when I say that if nothing else, it's worth keeping an eye on cards that summon other minions in case we ever reach some critical mass shenanigans with the new Khadgar card in mage, especially since Murlocs have found some success there.

I'm not trying to make a case for it without seeing it in action, but little additions like this could help the bomb-mech hunter build with things like Bomb Toss. I've had pretty decent success with the bomber build (by no means top tier, obviously), and something like this could help push some much needed late game damage, especially in an unknown meta where we can only build with standard cards, many being mech related stuff. Interested to see how it pans out, in any case.

Downvotes...ouch, guess nobody else enjoyed the Van Damme classic "No Retreat, No Surrender"...to each their own!

I feel like for those that have them, you should happily take the dust from Genn and Baku during the changeup, but if you planned on dumping them after, consider holding onto the cards (unless you REALLY need the extra dust), as given the nature of their design, even if it takes a year or more, I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually got some kind of nerf, however minor, to help balance wild, netting you another 3200 dust if you chose to do so. Just a thought!

Whew, this was a rough one. Got rock-paper-scissored hard easily 20+ matches before finally getting a fair matchup. I appreciate some of the overpower in these builds, and had some great fun here and there, but the polarization can make it rough if you're unlucky and looking for that pack.
