By the way, this is the newspaper at Blizzcon mentioning Knuckles.

CheeseEtc posted a message on Weekly Card Design Competition #4.06 - Discussion TopicPosted in: Fan CreationsHere are my first ideas :
Whispering Staff (priest) is here to help the silence priest archetype Blizzard seems to be wanting to create. Worded as it is, the silence happens before the attack, so it would kill a Silver Hand Recruit with Blessing of Kings for instance, and you won't take any damage. I chose this over the more elegant "silence any minion damaged by this weapon" since such a formulation would mean that the silence happens after the damage (which is generally useless).
Shooting Wand (mage) gives mages another source of unlimited ping (though you can't attack with it if you have no mana left). This one is cheaper that their hero power but it is a fair compensation to the fact that you take counter-attack damage with this ping. Yes, a shooting wand is supposed to be a ranged weapon but Rexxar takes damage when attacking with Eaglehorn Bow so I just ignored that.
Change of mind (priest) is a potentially very powerful card against both secret and weapon-based classes. You will immediately equip the copied secrets and weapon (with the missing durability if it was already used). Remember that it only copies, it does not steal (though I hesitated to make it steal but Entomb already makes tons of people salty so...). The "draw a card" part is not an n-th throwback to Purify but a way to avoid this card to be a dead weight against classes with neither secrets nor weapons (druid, warlock and priest) just like Flare does [Note: the rules does not say the weapon has to be custom, it just says it has to equip one].

Great deck !! Wish there was a video though :(

Try to keep cards playable on the early turns (Shadow Word: Pain, Shadowform, Thoughtsteal). The one hard to choose is Wild Pyromancer. Keep it when you are going second, or when you already have a Power Word: Shield, or when playing against deck very likely to be very zooish (Zoolock or that occasional Divine Shield Paladin). And remember the Pyromancer should almost never be played for tempo (at least on the early stages of the game), since he represents a good amount of aoe on his own. I still haven't figured out whether Bloodmage Thalnos should be kept or discarded. Do not keep it in general, except against Hunters I'd say, since they lack the tools to cheaply remove a 1/1.
Regarding the 4-drop(s), the only true 4-drop is Elise Starseeker. Neither Auchenai Soulpriest nor Priest of the Feast should be played on turn 4 for tempo, since getting them removed without getting any value out of them will most likely lose you the game (specially for Priest of the Feast). Still, keeping the Auchenai Soulpriest in the Mulligan might not be that bad of an idea since you only have one in the deck.
Discard anything that costs 5 mana or higher, discard Shadow Word: Death unless you are worried of Flamewreathed Faceless.

The one thing I'm still tweaking is indeed the Embrace the Shadow + Auchenai Soulpriest + Circle of Healing. It does feel clumsy at times, but on the other hand, reducing that amount of cards will reduce the consistency of the aoe combo: in other words, you might end up not having the circle 4-dmg aoe even after drawing 2/3 of your deck (costing you a game).
Right now, I'd rather replace Embrace the Shadow with another Auchenai Soulpriest than anything else. The idea behind the Auchenai Soulpriest, is to use it in conjunction with Flash Heal or Darkshire Alchemist for the additional removal.
The other possible move (specially given that there is also the Bloodmage Thalnos + Excavated Evil one), is reducing the combo to one single instance (1 Circle of Healing + 1 Heal-as-damage). Your deck will lose consistency in that regard, but it is the safest way to get a card slot for something of your liking (Forbidden Shaping, Sylvanas Windrunner, Shifting Shade, Harrison Jones, Arcane Giant, Mind Control).
Let me advise you against putting Prince Malchezaar in this deck. First of all, if anything, it should replace Elise Starseeker. Running both doesn't feel right to me. Now, I did try it at the beginning, and in general the result of Prince Malchezaar is underwhelming at best, and game-losing at worst (you should only run that card with tons of card draw, which this deck cannot have). One example: with Prince Malchezaar, I only managed to draw and use my second Shadowform on like 1/6th of my games...

I don't run Savage Roar nor Sir Finley, and instead run 2 Raven Idol to get more flexibility

2 Azure Drakes, 2 Marks of Y'Shaarj, 1 Curator which will draw you the Drakes if you haven't drawn them already + 2 Wraths (really do favor the card draw to the 3 dmg).
I run an almost identical deck (same card draw anyways) and when running out of steam my opponent either dies or uses all his hand to survive.

They did nerf a basic card before: Hunter's Mark
@SgtInvincibl you're right, the OTK thing is another topic of debate, that has no place here (it is the eternal "Charge in Hearthstone is not a healthy mechanic" speech), and FWA has almost nothing to do with that archetype except granting it the defence against aggro that a combo deck should not have (the whole rock-paper-scissors thing). Still, in most HS streams I see a huge huge predominance of Warriors (remember there are 9 classes in HS, so playing against a Warrior more than a third of the time shows there is something that has to be balanced in the game)
Imho, I'd rather add 1 mana cost to Execute than nerfing FWA, but if it came to changing FWA (as I said, it has been hinted by Blizzard), I think this is the smartest change that can be made.
(EDIT: yes, the Doomhammer + Rockbiter combo needs to be looked at. Something like )

Plus for those wanting to try the Priest of the Feast, just put them instead of the Refreshment Vendor
