For all of you who don't think blizzard affects your RNG. You're wrong. Im uninstalling this game after playing for a year. Blizzard has fucked my rng. I run eleven 1 drops in aggro druid. Played 4 games today with it. I drew a 1 drop on turn 4 in all four games. Go die hearthstone, will not miss this bullshit game with shit developers. How the hell can you mess up a game so bad to have 3 decks that run everything at any given point. Do they not play test? Or are they assuming that the next expansions will balance out? Either way gg hearthstone just lost another paying customer
Kay? Are you venting about bad draw rng in your aggro deck, or about tier decks being very powerful? Either way I don't find it surprising that you're an aggro druid player who is quiting the game because you got some bad draws and couldn't steam roll more control players.
And just one sidenote, even with having 11 one drops that doesn't mean you are meant to always draw them in the first one or two turns. Should it be likely? Yep, but when you put bigger cards in an aggro deck expect to run into some losses for putting bigger cards in there. Also, using a pitiful sample size of four games to base whether you quit the game or not? Lol. I can't feel bad for impatient aggro players who quit when they don't immediately get what they want.
Interesting. So if rng cards are never fun for the players why do we have MULTIPLE hearthstone highlight youtube channels showcasing nothing but funny random moments during players' games. Yep, never lucky never fun.
In HS cards like Dr Boom, discover effects, resurrect effects, lack of proper tutor mechanic (and I could go on and on) impacts the game too much. RNG dictates too much and most of that is because of shitty, garbage game engine. I've seen tournaments, I've seen Lifecoach reaction on Pavel's luck in tournament, it's just...
So, yeah, RNG can BE fun, but so do bugs.
HS does have more rng than either of those games, but this isn't surprising. Even for those of us who started in Vanilla HS, or even beta, knew that the game was going to be heavily influenced by rng it times (e.g. Rag 50/50 pings hitting face to take games, Lightning Storm low or high rolling targets, Sylvannas randomly taking the most important enemy minion on board (or the least important), Arcane Missiles random pew pews, Mad Bomber hitting the best or worst targets in arena, etc. etc.)
I really don't get why people even attempt to compare HS to Gwent or MtG. The games have similarities, but they are also nothing alike. It was clear from the very beginning that the game was more casual in comparison (at least compared to MtG since Gwent wasn't a thing). Rng was always there, people just started complaining about it more often when the rng evolved into things like Yogg & Cabalist's Tome.
This is why this game sucks. You go to try new things on ladder, and 90% of your opponents don't even play a new card. Partially because of how much it costs to get the new cards.
I think it has more to do with things like Priest still being one of the most powerful decks, and less so having to do with the standard cost for packs.

I played HS since closed beta. And I was always complaining on RNG factor ;)
And it was always surprising for me, why & how people who create card game can actually think, that this is good and healthy. I played M&M Duel of Champions before and I really don't remember RNG in that game. Not as impactful at least. HS was fun for me for a long time, but it was always extremely frustrating as well.
About that part 'people just started complaining about it more often when the rng evolved into things like Yogg & Cabalist's Tome' - can you blame those people? I mean, okay, call me crazy, but I always thought that card games should be highly skill based games. Where you win or lose because of your (and opponent's) skill level. And winning/losing by RNG should be rare. If I wanted to play RNG, I would have started throwing dice and bet the outcome.
Example I always use: tournament I've played, looong time ago, there was no standard/wild mode. I had control over the game, entire time. I had 4 8/8 creatures on the board. My opponent have put me down to 8 HP, Sneed was his last creature that could attack, he was about to lose in next round. So he attacked my Giant with his Sneed, he got Ragnaros out of that and Ragnaros, obviously, hit my face. Do you want to count the chance for that outcome?
That was the moment I moved back to MTG. HS might be fun sometimes, but it's absolutely not esport, tournament material. If people like it, that's fine, I don't blame them, like I said - HS can be fun sometimes, but just in my 'dictionary' card game should be more skill based. It's a place to blow off steam and that's what I do since this game frustrates me so much ;)
Brode I hope you read this salt thread now and then so you can truly appreciate how fucking inept you are at your job. I hope your bosses datamine this thread to realise how much money they are losing due to your shit decisions.
I have 30 packs of the new expansion - all free to play earned - and I have ZERO desire to spend money on this shit gaming experience to get any more because all I face on wild ladder are Razakus Priest, Jade Druid, and now spell hunter - all badges of your incompetence.
Hearthstone could be great. But the combination of Brode's shit decision making around randomness and letting broken synergies run on the ladder, coupled with a playerbase that just want to play the top tier netdecks over and over and over again while jerking their little dicks and spamming emotes makes it a toxic joke.
And STILL no autosquelch. 3/10 for this expansion Brodey boy. Ultimate infestation. Jade Idol. Raza Kazakas Death knight. Unwinable exodia Mage when they get to endgame. Pirate warrior still able to role you by turn 5. Who gives a flying fuck about the new expansion with that Brode issued sewage still floating down the stream.
And the new dungeon mode - a fucking joke - pray the last 2 bosses are weak to your deck - as you don't know what they will be it's just another ridiculous fucking Brodestone coin flip.
NEVER spend real money Hearthstone - you will regret it.

Yeah, that does make sense. I am fine with rng, but no I don't blame those who complain about Cabalist's Tome level of rng. My big criticisms of mage nowadays actually centers on the fact that they their deck building almost doesn't matter because their decks are going to consist fully of random crap anyways (obviously I'm exaggerating a little, bit you get what I mean). I suppose my tolerance of rng is when you can expect a card with a random effect being played on a certain turn or later, but then the tolerance fades when you get mage opponents not being able to play around anything and priests in wild who copy multiple cards from your opponent's deck through countless Shifting Shades.
I feel like I'm unlikely to enjoy this expansion until the next rotation and/or round of nerfs. I opened maybe 40 odd packs and deleted all of my previous decks to try out some new cards and ideas. Most of the games so far are against slightly tweaked versions of the same decks from KFT. So boring to still be playing against Jade Druid, Razakus Priest, Secret Mage, Evolve Shaman, anyone with the pirate package, Keleseth, Scalebane, and Bonemare.
P.s. Duskbreaker is a bullshit card that Priest didn't need. The only good thing is it means there's slightly less chance of Netherspite Historian discovering 50 Drakonid Operatives.
this expansion is super fun but going to turn out to be completely worhtless because the only things ladder viable are KFT netdecks with zero new cards.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
I'm pretty annoyed atm because of the dungeon runs.
I consistently get to the last boss and then lose...not because of the boss, not because of my cards or treasures (in fact I've been one turn away from winning for a number of classes now) but because of my mulligan.
I don't know what it is, honestly, I'll play the whole run and everything will be normal but as soon as I hit the final boss I have the WORST opening hand every damn time. I'm not even exaggerating, final boss = shitty opening hand
I know there is nothing to really be done about it except to keep trying but it's just frustrating, you know, being so close and just losing to RNG. Blarg! Hearthstone! I want that cardback!
PurTell Stupid fucking noob kid ... Go fuck yourself fucking noob little bitch ... Non legend little shit ... How come you are so garbage that you cant pass rank 20 at mid season with tier 1 netdeck fucking noob garbage ... You fucking suck little trash tier noob ... Eat shit ...

I f***in' wish. The real new kings of ladder, I'm predicting, are Big decks. That is, decks whose entire purpose is to pull out giant minion after giant minion with zero decision making for either party. If I'm correct, I'm quitting this game, because at that point it's a f***ing slot machine.

Actually some of the new 'Big' Control Warlocks have to put thought into how they build their deck when they are using Oakenheart and purposefully toss away certain cards in order to get the best value from using him in the late game. The opponent also has time to make decisions, such as pushing more face while ignoring low value trades and saving board clears for their power plays. It isn't like all of these decks instantly win the game as soon as they drop something big, otherwise decks like Giants Hunter would be 'tier S', which it isn't.
Do they base the final boss in dungeons off of your deck or something? I always get the Darkness and it screws me over so hard. Finally I get a stall mage that would slay the Darkness and I get matched up against Azari. This is so frustrating...
Second time now... stupid bullshit Azari...
And now I get candle douche who uses the confusion spell. 3 minions on each side. He ends up with 5 and I with 1. This is such bullshit how RNG these bosses are. Even when you deckbuild perfectly (5 Arcane Giants, Duplicates, Echos, Sorc Apprentices, draw 3 cost 0 spell, minions cost max 5), you can still get screwed over by the dumbest shit ever and have to start all over.
Been trying to adapt a new deck for druid,so i was hanging around with the new 1 mana spells and some new stuffs from expansion. I managed to survive untill turn 6 against a copy pasted tempo mage deck untill..boom. Geist.i had 3 removals in hand and no more cards. I mean,Blizzard come on,just make that geist destroy jades, fuck, you did the new spells for druid cost 1 mana!!!! wtf!!
It really is so irritating. It's like an expansion never happened.
23.24 saturday evening.I dont feel good so i make a stupid deck and go into casual.
Quest mage with gold portrait.
Razakus priest.
Jade druid.
Going to bed.
