It's either rek or get rekt. I don't think either side regularly gets top-tier cards, one side usually gets too many dead cards in hand to realistically defend themselves and games quickly turn into a rout (although you can sometimes flip the script on your opponent if you get even one good tempo swing)
On the otherhand, speaking as a free-to-play player, I always like brawls that take the netdecks away from players. How quickly their "skill" level drops when they don't have their crutch cards available, and they have to actually think about how to utilize the tools they've been given. Soothes the soul.
I enjoy this Brawl, and any brawl where people have to use random cards to their best advantage instead of the netdecks they rely on (and if you can create synergy with your random cards, that shows skill/card knowledge)....but I honestly wish people could hurry the fuck up with their turns. I mean, honestly, taking an extra minute every turn just to pick your card. There is no reason games should last that long I got places to be, things to do, can you pick your legendary card so I can play my elven archer and lose already?
I always do better when I've smoked a joint. Mellows me out so I don't overanalyze, I just play in the moment. Sometimes it lets me win that way, but mostly it lets me loose without blowing a gasket. When I get too angry I start to play like shit out of frustration.
I hate Big Priest. I mean, I hate Big Priest more than any other deck archetype, more than Jade Druid or Pirate Warrior. I don't mind losing, I just hate being frustrated. Obsidian Statue is OP.
I'm pretty annoyed atm because of the dungeon runs.
I consistently get to the last boss and then lose...not because of the boss, not because of my cards or treasures (in fact I've been one turn away from winning for a number of classes now) but because of my mulligan.
I don't know what it is, honestly, I'll play the whole run and everything will be normal but as soon as I hit the final boss I have the WORST opening hand every damn time. I'm not even exaggerating, final boss = shitty opening hand
I know there is nothing to really be done about it except to keep trying but it's just frustrating, you know, being so close and just losing to RNG. Blarg! Hearthstone! I want that cardback!
I wouldn't say it's unfair but I would say that it's unreasonable.
The difference is that Blizzard is a company and they're out to make money. The majority of their money come from "whales" (or players who regularly throw down hundreds of dollars per expansion) but they also want to encourage players to purchase packs, arena runs, hero portraits, etc. so if they were too generous then we'd have very little reason to give them any money at all. It's perfectly fair to expect a company to give us little to no freebies, but Blizzard doesn't do that. They regularly give out free packs for signing in, for random tasks (like signing up for an AmazonPrime account), for promoting their new expansions, etc. Add that to the packs you get from Arena, and gold you get from daily quests and it is entirely possible to collect *every* card without spending a dime.
That is unreasonable, however. It is unreasonable because, given all the expansions and adventures released every year, to get all the cards you need without spending any money you would need to spend *at least* 1-2 hours a day playing the game. 1-2 hours a day, every day. I read you loud and clear when you say you're a casual player because so am I. Not only do I have real world responsibilities that mean I'm lucky to get even ONE hour a day on video games but I don't always want to play Hearthstone. Sometimes I want to play Crusader Kings 2. Sometimes I want to play Stardew Valley. Sometimes I want to play card games with my wife, you know what I'm saying? I like Hearthstone, but this isn't a lifestyle choice, you know? Nobody, especially not Blizzard, can expect me to devote the amount of time I would need to make this game completely F2P. It is an unreasonable expectation.
Now, I know some snarky little cowboy is going to flippantly remark something like 'wah, wah, don't like it, don't play it' and to them I say "you're right." and they are. If I'm not going to devote every day to Hearthstone I'm not going to get all the cards and if I don't have all the card I simply cannot compete in Standard...Period. This is a truism. I, like you, struggle to get past Rank 15 because my Bog Creepers and Feral Spirits aren't going to beat their Sunkeeper Tarims and Frost Lich Jainas no matter how intelligently I play. It's just something you have to accept: You either die a newfag or play long enough to see yourself become the cancer.
People begged and wept and prayed for something to counter the aggro decks of the previous meta and when they're giving a strong anti-aggro card they complain about it. Nothing is ever good enough...

I love this card, because it works. I hate this card, because it works. Go figure.

Demons are jerks. They smack you on the way out to the battlefield
