posted a message on Performance drop after new patch

I actually wanted to finally ask that as well.

Yeah, I played few games right before the patch - everything was fine. I updated and suddenly CPU usage is as high as Red Dead 2 and ffs works ten times as bad! I can run CP2077, RDR2 on highest details and have 60FPS and in Hearthstone I have like 10FPS... in main menu! WTF Blizzard? No, seriously, how hard it is to optimize game like this?

I don't like making this assumption, but people in HS, not all, but in general, are dumb as fuck. Are you really incapable or playing ANYTHING besides face hunter and face paladin? Have you heard about trading?

I mean, seriously, people, stop fucking looking at streamers, get out of your 15yo mind and try doing something by yourself. I know in this shitty game we'll never get proper control decks, but I think some people could at least try to stop jacking off to streamers showing their super-uber cool 300% win rate decks.

I honestly think ability to ban a deck on ladder is a good idea. I mean, look at it this way:

    - In real card games there's no such thing as 'ladder', you don't have to face the same deck every five minutes

    - In online some want to play tournament and there you can BAN deck you hate

Alright, I'm not aiming at being pro and tournaments, fuck that, so there's that - why do I have run into that if I'm just a fucking casual player? Who would be hurt if I could click 'fuck you brainless hunters' button?

Alright, I've seen that many people complain about aggro, including me, I hate those brainless decks. But more - I HATE Blizzard's design. I know Hearthstone is quite fast game, alright, but I don't remember reading that it's 'aggro decks only' card game. And they're either dumb or intentionally are making way overpowered aggro cards.

    1 mana - 1/1, taunt, divine shield

5 mana - 4/5 taunt, deathrattle heal your hero for 5...

Try now scaling it up and down and tell me everything is absolutely fine and normal.

And sure, I know you all want to hit super high legend rank and everything, but then you're complaining about aggro, so maybe stop playing that? Be that person who won't touch this absurdly annoying deck? We're creating the 'meta' and often enough by looking at sites like this one and your 'beloved' streamers. Try making your own deck and maybe we'll have something more 'healthy'.

I've been hearing that CubeLock is so strong... yeah, sure, played 30 games - I'VE NEVER had anything to play until turn 7-8.

Playing against rogue and hunter ONLY.

If 90% of Hearthstone players had to sit and play MTG they would kill themselves I guess. No stupid 'face only'.

Twice in a row - I have EVERY FUCKIN CREATURE still in my deck. I play shadow essence - both times i get Barnes.

Just fuck RNG in this piece of shit. Why do you keep making RNG based CARD game? Are you too stupid or you simply assumed that if you make game based on luck, you could draw more people? Yeah, 90% are complete brain deads, but yeah, keep making cards like that, attract idiots who can't think.

To be honest, if we're talking netdecking - blame the streamers. They're root of this problem.

That's why I was hoping that community would put some pressure on Blizzard and I see that most people just watch those streams and constantly ask questions like 'what is this deck, what card can I change' etc.

Few streamers tried MTG Arena... most viewers couldn't understand shit about it. And I feel 80% of people who play Hearthstone would never be able to understand any other 'real' card game.

Team 5 is literally made of complete idiots who, I think, never seen a card game or are too stupid to understand one. Oh and client's stability is a joke, game engine is pure shit. I seriously wonder how much do they pay streamers to play this for hours, because I don't believe anyone could actually ENJOY card game where 90% is resolved via RNG, client works like crap, and every meta is made of one-two absurdly stupid aggro decks and people trying to counter that.

After playing MTG for... years, I really can't figure out what do you need to have instead of brain, to built a card game around fucking RNG. Of course, every card game has some RNG, but I've never seen anything like this. And I'm almost sure that most is because of shitty game engine and they're literally unable to implement anything else.

I used to enjoy this game, really, but right now? I hope it dies allowing us to keep good memories, not this crap. Oh, and one more thing - Blizzard's greed. Compare Hearthstone to Gwent or even MTG Arena, how long it takes to get some good cards in those games.

    Quote from JanOnToast >>
I quit a week after Mean Streets launched. I stay off for about 6 months I think. Did it again after Frozen Throne for 3 months. It's very cleansing. I hope you find peace out there in the real world.
That's what I did. And right now Hearthstone is triggering me basically after like 5min. I said it 10000 times and I will say that again - how STUPID designers must be to create a card game, target esport with it and make most cards RNG driven. It's like building a car where breaks sometimes work and sometimes not.
And new player experience (or new expansion experience)... that's just Scrooge lvl greed. I really hope this game dies in peace and lets us keep good memories of it, not memories of complete morons turning a pretty cool game into brainless shit.

HS does have more rng than either of those games, but this isn't surprising. Even for those of us who started in Vanilla HS, or even beta, knew that the game was going to be heavily influenced by rng it times (e.g. Rag 50/50 pings hitting face to take games, Lightning Storm low or high rolling targets, Sylvannas randomly taking the most important enemy minion on board (or the least important), Arcane Missiles random pew pews, Mad Bomber hitting the best or worst targets in arena, etc. etc.)
I really don't get why people even attempt to compare HS to Gwent or MtG. The games have similarities, but they are also nothing alike. It was clear from the very beginning that the game was more casual in comparison (at least compared to MtG since Gwent wasn't a thing). Rng was always there, people just started complaining about it more often when the rng evolved into things like Yogg & Cabalist's Tome.
I played HS since closed beta. And I was always complaining on RNG factor ;)
And it was always surprising for me, why & how people who create card game can actually think, that this is good and healthy. I played M&M Duel of Champions before and I really don't remember RNG in that game. Not as impactful at least. HS was fun for me for a long time, but it was always extremely frustrating as well.
About that part 'people just started complaining about it more often when the rng evolved into things like Yogg & Cabalist's Tome' - can you blame those people? I mean, okay, call me crazy, but I always thought that card games should be highly skill based games. Where you win or lose because of your (and opponent's) skill level. And winning/losing by RNG should be rare. If I wanted to play RNG, I would have started throwing dice and bet the outcome.
Example I always use: tournament I've played, looong time ago, there was no standard/wild mode. I had control over the game, entire time. I had 4 8/8 creatures on the board. My opponent have put me down to 8 HP, Sneed was his last creature that could attack, he was about to lose in next round. So he attacked my Giant with his Sneed, he got Ragnaros out of that and Ragnaros, obviously, hit my face. Do you want to count the chance for that outcome?
That was the moment I moved back to MTG. HS might be fun sometimes, but it's absolutely not esport, tournament material. If people like it, that's fine, I don't blame them, like I said - HS can be fun sometimes, but just in my 'dictionary' card game should be more skill based. It's a place to blow off steam and that's what I do since this game frustrates me so much ;)

Interesting. So if rng cards are never fun for the players why do we have MULTIPLE hearthstone highlight youtube channels showcasing nothing but funny random moments during players' games. Yep, never lucky never fun.
Something else is interesting. I wanted to be sarcastic, but I don't want to fight, so I'll put it simple and peaceful - dude, if you intend to quote someone, respond to everything, not to something that looks convenient to you and misunderstand that.
RNG... tends to be fun, okay, I agree. But, like you mentioned, just some highlights, not every situation. Bugs in games tend to be funny, does that mean that every single bug in general is funny? Of course not. And card game CAN'T have that much RNG effects, because it takes away skill factor. If you played MTG you'd have seen difference. Or even Gwent. In MTG biggest RNG (in my time) was card named Ral Zarek (I might be wrong it was few years ago). This card was telling you to flip a coin five times, for each head you had extra turn. RNG? Obviously, BUT, if you had tail five times what would have happened? Most of the time nothing, you could still win, it wouldn't screw you up big times.
In HS cards like Dr Boom, discover effects, resurrect effects, lack of proper tutor mechanic (and I could go on and on) impacts the game too much. RNG dictates too much and most of that is because of shitty, garbage game engine. I've seen tournaments, I've seen Lifecoach reaction on Pavel's luck in tournament, it's just...
So, yeah, RNG can BE fun, but so do bugs.

Hearthstone team is bunch of complete idiots. And I really hope Blizzard will read this:

Yeah, create a card game, target E-SPORT and make most cards with random effect and say it's FUN! So maybe suggest Wizards that they should put more RNG in Magic: The Gathering, hmm? Flip a coin for each card or throw a 10 sided dice for something to happen? Players would have burned them all.

I only started Hearthstone to see those Dungeon Runs (of course Blizzard is greedy as f*** and they won't give you even 5 gold for completing the run, but that's another story) and even just that reminded me why Hearthstone is the biggest joke and most stupid card game that was ever released. Good job Blizzard, more RNG, it's obviously so much fun, we all love it, we laugh and share.
