I was just wondering how people think about the Rush effect. Personally I dont really like it, its overused in my opinion and it replaced charge in my eyes. I get it on some level why the hearthstone team use rush so much but what do you think?
It's fine. The game seems to be turning to it more and more, and using "charge" less and less, which is a change that I like. I don't think that Leeroy or Stonetusk Boar are going to be nerfed or HOF'd, but they are likely to remain the only truly viable charge minions for some time to come.
Rush justbecame one of the core keywords like lifesteal and battlecry,so I don't think that they can Overuse it. I also have no problem with rush replacing charge. Charge minions almost always went face wich made the Keyword really uninteractive. The rush mechanic solves this Problem.
Rush is a necessary evil. Without it, it's difficult to swing a board back in your favor without spells. If you don't have a rush keyword, you end up having to give board clears and spot removal to every class. Any class without removal would quickly run in to an issue of not being able to reclaim the board once the opponent has an edge.
Charge could go away completely as a keyword and I'd be happy. Rush was a great addition/change, in my opinion.

Pretty much this, but I wouldn't call it an evil at all. It is the best keyword we will likely ever get. Without rush you just have a game of loading up the board with minions and seeing if can survive the next turn of trades. It also gives players that are behind a chance to catchup and make meaningful trades.
It's also a very fun mechanic and adds another layer to the game. Which is important as hearthstone is already a simpler card game as it is being that you can do nothing on the opponents turn save secrets.
To me Rush is the worst mechanic in the game. It's basically a removal spell that may leave a minion on board, and can also be played as a minion standalone (when there is nothing to rush, or one choses not to attack). It adds nothing to the game, but has given many decks defensive/swing tools they are not supposed to have.
While some Rush minions are so poorly stated they never saw play, there are a bunch of busted ones / cards that are way too good. Militia Commander is totally broken. And since it was replaced in CW with Restless Mummy, it stands to reason that the later is even more broken. Zilliax and, to a lesser extent, Vicious Scalehide, fit into too many decks, some of which were rather OP. And lets not even talk about the Corrupted one.

Charge was like rush but 300% times better
Charge, unlike Rush, serves a purpose - it closes out games. With the flexibility of being an "emergency" rusher.
Rush is okay but theres too many minions with it and they are more powerfull than ever. So you dont have that good feeling when playing a big minion because some little rushers will clear the board imidiately. It looks interactive but its not rly. Theres just an empty board almost every round. I would like to have 30 vs 30 card decks with no OTK, no infinite or near-infinite value cards like DKs, Elysiana and similar crap mechanics. You would pick agro midrange or ctrl and you have 30 cards to use. Decks should have some tribal synergy, but no 1-2 cards that are so OP you build all deck around it (shudderwock, galakrond etc) So thats my opinion but im barely playing this game at the moment. Expansion doesnt look that bad but its far from my ideal card game atm.

Lol how does rush not serve a purpose? It's an interactive meaning that's not broken by being able to go face. Complaints about charge are 100 times more valid than those about rush.

You could use charge as the same way you use rush dumbass
The complaints I see about Rush are just nonsense. People don't like the flexibility and prevalence of Rush minions because they can be played on an empty board or used as removal while possibly leaving a body in the board.
And then in the next breath they complain that it replaced Charge or that Charge was better... what? Charge is still very prevalent despite there being much less Charge cards and it literally has the same problems as Rush minions except you compare them to direct damage spells rather than removal spells.
Yeah there's some broken Rush cards atm but it feels like people are just mad they lost a valuable minion to Rush when a Charge minion, removal spell or Battlecry could also have accomplished the exact same thing.
Thats not even the reason. The who point of this thread is just to get peoples opinions. I just dont like the keyword because I think it is overused in the most cases. Cards like Faceless Corruptor have nothing to do with it.
Exactly that. At this point everything has rush. Playing something not rush seems meaningless sometimes. But I think the game doesn’t need only aggro and midrange decks to be fun. Having different pace each expansion is not a bad idea. Rush now feels always more and more present. feels like the only keyword to matter and it is in every deck at this point. taunt a much more interesting mechanics seem way less present.

Whoever made this post likes to play aggro face decks with charge minions and doesn’t want players to use rush and beat him. So it’s just a whine post. Give me a break.

The more rush there is, the more obsolete cards like Luna become. Any card that has to stay on board to provide an effect will be easy to snipe off via rush.
Not to mention one of the reasons faceless corruptor is even half as strong as it is, is due to rush. Yet it's not aggro players complaining about him.

No the opposite actually. I like to play decks like handlock, DR rogue and highlander. Little bit weird that your comming to this conclusion.

Rush is a great keyword, but Faceless Corruptor is a very poorly balanced card. Don't blame the keyword for the bad design of specific cards.

Let's not forget that "magnetize" is just a fancy way of saying "charge" :)
