I love the controlling aspects of the new meta. However, I feel like the agressive devks are only getting stronger. Pirate Rogue is crazy. Token Druid is pretty resilient and zoo will always be there. Also, 3 mana 7/7s in mech warrior. Why?
i don't see your point that we already had everything that is available right now, however its a little boring that you see 80% tempo rogues and bomb warriors. but im sure there will be some more decks soon to keep those 2 in check and make the meta a little more diverse.
Regardless of enjoying the expansion or not, you have to accept that Blizzard has already started to reprint old cards, yeah mana costs and names are different but cards are exactly the same. When the rotation was announced, they said they would never reprint the same cards. They simply run out of ideas.
I'm really enjoying it to be honest. There's more than a few viable decks and even decks that, while not viable at the moment, are great fun such as Summoner Mage and Big Paladin.

A reprint is an exact copy. Its a reissue of an already existing card from another set. The mechanics may be the same or similar but there are no exact copies.
Enjoying it so far. Theme is fine, card quality is decent. Arena feels fresh with the mixed in older sets. Playing almost every class in standard with 2 decks each, without odd/even its a total different pace imo. Under the line having fun with the new set plus i got almost all legendaries i wanted from pre order, cant complain here.
It's sad to say, but I think I'm already starting to hate it - my time to play is fairly limited, and so I really only to got to play a little bit before everyone started their netdecking, so already life is full of a bunch of secret paladins and murloc shamans in casual, and god am I sick of Academic Espionage. The frustration of losing to people who just barf 1 cost cards all over the board might finally be more than I can handle, lol.
Run away. Hide in your precious keeps, behind your walls and your bodyguards. Night always falls, and shadows will fill your hallowed halls. You won't hear me, a lifeless and remorseless silhouette, wandering around you and you will not even get the opportunity to call for help. That day, darkness will override the light in your heart and make you one of us.
I like both standard and wild format. Although I don't feel so much exciting than any other new expansions, so I prefer wild in terms of enjoyment, while standard format is a really nice place to test and feel new things without same cards all over again.
So and so. I feel as if the more money I spend on an expansion, the more excited I am for it. I didn't pre-order, so my deckbuilding options are very limited. Right now the only new deck I can try is Zoolock. I've got 12K dust, but I'm so stingy with my dust that I likely wont craft anything until the meta settles, which means I miss out on a lot of the fun experimental phase.
I love this expansion. Finally no more pally and a control meta. Thats the only thing i wanted to see.
On the contrary, Paladin is stronger than ever due to this expansion. Instead of focusing on small minions, they now have a big minion oriented deck that is a real powerhouse and counters Bomb Warrior and much of the meta. I’m excited for the new direction Paladin is heading in!
I feel you, OP. I played the game for 2,5 years (June 2016-January 2019) and quit it. I realized there is always an opportunity that rotation with fresh expansion can ignite a desire to try new meta as usual and bring me back, but that just didn't happen. The reason behind this is a feeling that most part of these cards and mechanics are just reprints of things I already played a lot. I don't blame designers of the game tho. I think it's very hard to make brand new mechanics and bring into the game something new at this point. The design space is limited and its ceiling was hit not even yesterday. But that is not that bad how it sounds because there are always new generations of players that started their HS journey in 2017-2018. I'd genuinely be surprised if the guys that replied to you oppositely are not the ones I described or they play mostly casually and don't have many hours in it to be bored of classic form of this awesome game.
It feels to me like a point of no returning back. I'm grateful to this game and its creators for positive moments it game me. If you don't enjoy the game fully too, then I highly advise to consider trying something new. It's highly likely that the game is not going to change anytime soon. It will get just a tournament mode sooner or later at best. So it's pointless to wait new things here and express negative thoughts about their absence during coming years. The world is very big and Hearthstone is not the only thing it offers. There is a lot to explore and to discover out there.
Already salty after this expansion, and I spent months saving up my gold and cash just so I could start it with a complete set. Now I'm seriously thinking about just uninstalling the app and selling my account. Maybe I can still get some money back out of all I've spent on this steaming pile of manure...
Three days since the release and people already calling it "old".
Man it is old. Did you see something new?
Bombs: We already had it
DR Boom: it is more or less the same
Burgle rogue: we already had it
Buffs for druid: we already had it
Ress and silence priest: we already had it
Murloc Shaman: we already had it
Zoolock: We already had it
The design is very vey poor in my opinion.
No, we didn't already have Bomb Warrior, Murloc Shaman, Thief Rogue or Silence Priest.
In case you forgot, the decks played before expansion were Midrange Hunter, Gallery Priest, Wall Priest, Evenlock, Odd Warrior and Odd Paladin. None of those decks are viable now.
ofc there not viable now because they removed the cards in to the wild format.
I mean he has very good points, many of the cards we are getting on new expansion are somewhat of a copy of an already existing card. I dont wanna look up all of the HS cards to give you some examples but there are many. And the other thing that bugs me is that they implement new mechanics but dont support them enough with cards to work with it. Like look at heal druid. how the hell should you even make that deck work if you have like 5 healing options? I get it, this expansion is just the ground stone for the others to come this year but still. Twinspell is basically another echo, they fucked up with echo cause shit would have been way to broken if they printed cheap echo spells, so they come up with something similar later. just like rush.. its charge but they could not manage to balance it so they needed to change it to rush.
There are many more examples like this and it kinda annoys me that for you to play a fresh HS you have to buy reprints.
and dont tell me if you dont like it then just not play it 4head. its not that i wouldn't like the game per se its just that they could do much more and actually change the standard mode, and not only by taking 3 sets out and implementing 1 new with 50% being reprint copys.
All I want is a control Shaman to work, keeping Warrior at bay but then the bombs fuck me, trying Archwhatever (replace deck with 10 cards) but cn't keep up with burgle/tempo rogue and that's all i'm meeting on ladder.
I'm bummed, been trying so many counters to these decks and I just keep on losing. Thought Muckmorpher and new Hagatha would be a cool idea but it's just way too slow. Lost like 6 in a row just now, but i quit before i properly tilted.
Guess I'll try again later, and again until I crash and try bomb warrior cancer (yeah it's not unbeatable just super frustrating, feeling like you can't do anything against it) especially in a control match up that isn't Warrior, I have healed back up to 30 4x in a game and still lost to bombs...
I agree that Bomb Warrior is strong, but frankly, I don't mind it too much, because for me Warrior has never been a cancer class and I like it.
As of Burgle Rogue, I know it's not a meme deck anymore, but if you ask me it's far from being the best deck in the meta. At least when I play it, I always get the worst possible luck with Espionage. Really.

As a main priest player it's needless to say I don't like it so far...

4/3/19 RIP Keith Flint. 😔
It's been okay. Fresh meta is good. Can't say for the next few months or so, though.
Petition for Jaina's boobs to return please. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

If you are in your first year of playing please read this post.
Dust does not burn a hole in the jar. Be careful what you craft, especially before and right after a rotation.

Overall, I like it. My two favorite classes (Rogue & Warrior) got interesting cards that seem fun to play around with, or straightfoward strong.
I just regret, as usual, that the "themes" of the set are not used enough (lackeys, twinspells, so on so on).
PS : and there are a few cards that don't even make sense. Hello Dr. Boom's scheme.

I like elementals and totems.

Thief rogue is my dream archetype! I didn't expect that it'll be a Heistbaron Togviable deck and now less of a Tess Greymeme deck. Lavet <3

Started playing Hearthstone in May '16.

this NEW expansion i think is still new for me...
