Reading through this forum and others. People seems to believe that the right path to play Hearthstone is among other thing a non-emoting player playing only homebrew midrange(pleb)/control(elite) deck in constructed. This is not how I enjoy this game. And I like playing in a way that seems to be frowned upon (not that I care). I might just be an HS scumbag.
Proof #1 - OTK deck
I like deck that have a win condition, I really enjoy playing with/against OTK. Some of my favorite cards of all time includes Mecha'thun, Malygos or Ice Block. I like playing those Exodia or 100+dmg OTK decks and playing against it is relatively easy either with Tech Cards or specific Decks (see #2 & #3). My favorite OTK decks of the moments are: - (std) Gallery Priest (T1) - (std) Miracle Druid (T2) - (wild) Fast Thun Renolock (meme) - (wild) Draw-Freeze-Burn Mage (homebrew) - (wild) Malygos Druid (T3)
Proof #2 - Aggro deck
Like it or not I do like aggro deck as well, I like going all-in the first turns and fast game, especially when I don’t always have the time to play (when I have to go to work or during a coffee break). I don’t mind playing against aggro deck because when I lose it’s fast and I can move on to the next game. And if you break their momentum, well, you have won.
My favorite Aggro decks (only wild) - (wild) Pirate Warrior (T2) - (wild) Pre-nerf Odd Rogue (so long old friend) - (wild) Aggro Kingsbane Rogue (T1)
Proof #3 - Mill deck
Mill deck are my favorite deck of all time. And (control) people seems to hate it deeply :/. I assume because of the polarized matchup. I actually like to play and tech against my polarized matchup and winning those games takes skill (and a bit of luck). I mean winning against an aggro deck with a mill deck is the BEST feeling ever.
(also Coldlight Oracle being HoFed out of standard was one of my saddest HS moment)
Midrange and control seems to be everyone favorite playstyle...
I despise Tempo/Midrange decks which usually comes too playing minion on curve and out tempo the opponent. It does takes skill but is boring as fuck. (go play arena that’s the same IMHO).
I hate no-win-condition control decks.. Looking at you Odd Warrior doing nothing but armoring up and clearing the minions.. What a game, playing for 40-f**ing min before losing.. Thanks, but no thanks. Same goes for Quest Priest. Actually one of the reason I started to play Mill and OTK decks.
Proof #5 - Netdecking
I don’t always have a lot of time (father and full-time employed), to stay up to date with the meta I do netdeck then I might start tweaking those deck according to the local meta. But lot of people have spent time refined those deck and If I want to go to rank 5 as soon as possible and fool/memeing around the rest of the season, it is easier to netdeck what is OP. On top of that playing a (net)deck allows to see it’s weakness which is useful for when you’ll play against it.
Proof #6 - T1 decks in casual
I don’t like quests. I don’t want to be forced to play a deck I don’t enjoy. “Playing 3 dragon” or “3 win with Hunter” means I’ll use my T1 decks in casual to be done with it. Sorry, but again, not enough time to play stuff I don’t enjoy.
Proof #7 - BMing
Emoting seems to trigger some special snowflakes, it’s part of the game. It’s a game about a f**king battle between heroes… bming adds to the atmosphere in my opinion if you don’t like it just squelch your opponent. I do some soft BMing as well (see my comment in “Do you BM?” A Hearthstone Confessional)
The only thing I’ll never do is to rope on purpose, I don’t have time, I won’t waste yours.
Conclusion
I'm sorry my way of playing this game impact negatively yours, but suck it up and play whatever makes you happy.
Was there a point to discuss or was this just a salty ego-stroke?
Ahahahah.... ok.
My small-minded friend there is no salt (I'm not complaining), no ego (I'm not saying my playstyle is better). It's merely a write-up about a different opinion about playing this game.
There is no question or poll, but people are free to react about any of this stuff wether they agree on some points or think I'm a jerk.

People in your "local meta" are playing (or building) Odd Warrior incorrectly.

I think it is more like a confession.
The only decks that can always claim the moral high ground here are unique and rare homebrew decks. Otherwise, anything that is strong, common, feeles bad to lose against or counters decks you like will get hate...

Ok... So what`s the point of the discussion? You want people to insult you or encourage, or..? Everyone plays as they like - there`s no revelation in this statement. :\
hahaha I enjoyed this post a lot. I feel the same way about the whole thing, mate - no one can tell others how to have fun in a game, since we all abide by the existing rules.

Wrote that post, but called me small-minded. Wow. Lol Ok :-)
Nobody has the right to dictate what decks you play/enjoy playing (the two are not mutuality exclusive).
Play what deck you like and how you like to play.
If you are a Slavish Netdecker that plays only the Top Rated Deck on the front page of Hearthpwn, go for it.
If you are a Tweaker who takes successful Decks and fiddles around with them, go for it.
If you enjoy trying to come up with something 'Unique' and Meta Breaking, go for it.
*I say 'Unique' but there is nothing new under the sun. I asked The Innkeeper to build me a deck once. I checked and the same deck was this site... 😂
If only win makes you happy and you are at least upper lvl 5 in the ladder than is fine. Not a scumbag, enjoy your competitive "fun"
If you under lvl 5, even worse under level 10, ruining the game to people who wants have funny match up trying own creatives deck... then you are. A no skilled player camping in lower level with internet copied decks it is something i pray to avoid.
I am fine meeting those decks during the first ten days of the months (ok, got it you are climbing). But like at level 15 the last 2 days.... c'mon...it's just not fun

Or they are just playing competitive decks to a rank 15 standard because they suck. Either way no one should accept any grief for playing a competitive deck on ladder, no matter what their rank is. Ladder is supposed to be competitive...

I can see why you would say that. I'm usually r5-floor player.
However I believe there nothing inherently wrong doing it rank15 the last 2days of the saison. I think it is wrong if you do it to sap people fun but if it's for your own fun do whatever you want.
The problem with the post isn't the playstyle - many play that way and it's fine, it's the attention-seeking behavior that suggests deeper unresolved issues. Good luck getting the help you so clearly need. It will be interesting to see what you clap back with, mental condition have always fascinated me.

Don't let some elitists fool you into believing there exists a higher ground of playing in this game.
There is only a lower ground, and that's occupied exclusively by dedicated Big Priest players.
Wrote that post, but called me small-minded.

4/3/19 RIP Keith Flint. 😔
This is really old news. So you're a Spike, good for you.
Timmy and Johnny will never like you, learn to live with it.
For me depends where in the ladder you are:
If only win makes you happy and you are at least upper lvl 5 in the ladder than is fine. Not a scumbag, enjoy your competitive "fun"

Enjoy the game. Don't mind the whiners. The Hearthstone community will whine about everything
tldr Indeed.
I will crush you!
The legend says all decks on the front page of this site were created by the Innkeeper 😂
Aren't we all a bit of each? (ref) 😃
You are entirely right! Let each of us enjoy his/her own playstyle!
I consider myself a Johnny/Spike type of guy. My preferred deck (DFB Mage and Mech Mill Rogue) are both Homebrew and helping my climb to rank5.
I can see why you would say that. I'm usually r5-floor player.
