After starting playing HS during the last month of Kobolds, I played F2P until the "Get in Here!" bundle and Boomsday expansion. So basically I skipped WW preorder. Other than that I'm preordering everything that comes out in bundles.
I'm saving wisely and not crafting anything until next HS year rotation, meaning I intend to start climbing ladder only after the rotation of Ungoro, Frozen Throne and Kobolds. Please find attached a screenshot of my collection.
I'm sitting on around 6K gold ad 13K dust. While I'm not planning on spending my dust until next year, I want to invest that gold, either in classic or WW packs. Based on the status of my collection, what do you suggest? My pity for classic is around 30, WW "around" 25, didn't keep a precise track of that.
I'm saying at this point I should stop investing in classic (spent 6.5k gold on that as well during boomsday launch and I basically got what I need - Maly, Ysi, etc, I'm missing Harrison, leeroy, Alex, but there are a shitload of other crappy legendaries as well, so I prefer crafting instead of tempting my faith..) and invest on WW, which I didn't buy the preorder.
What do you think? And thanks for your point of view and suggestions as always!
Keep it for the upcoming expansion , craft only what you’re missing for the top decks.
Thing is, I will preorder the next expansion and usually with a full preorder you get enough dust to create what you're missing. I'm also sitting on 13k dust. Guess my real point is: shall I keep investing in classic packs or fill in the gap on WW?
keep in mind Wild is more F2P friendly in the long-term
in Standard, the meta got shake very hard with every expansion release, it is very hard to keep up with it unless you're willing to pay
regarding to your 6k gold, I have 5.5k gold and I will invest it in the new expansion when released then start saving for the next one xD its like a never ending circle

I'm not F2P since the get in here bundle, I preorder every new expansion and buy every bundle.
On another topic I'm very interested in wild as well, although my plan for now is laddering with the release of the next HS year
If you preorder the next expac. I could see you dropping 30 k (max!) on WW. But your collection looks good for after the next rotation. Which means 2 expansions, so always keep some gold for a start.
You have the dust to craft wathever you are missing for single decks anyway.
But WW is the first expansion of the year of the raven right? Meaning it won't rotate out until March 2020.... or not?
The next rotation will send Ungoro, Frozen and Kobolds to wild, is that right?

Correct. If you play standard and are missing a significant amount of WW cards, it is worth it to buy them.
I just started playing this game. Any advise on which characters should I focus on? I know that this game is kind of addicting and also that people actually spend money here. I am not sure I want to do that but I do have ab addictive sort of personality. I have been actually hoping to find ways to save money because I have been spending a lot in the past couple of years and I would need to form more responsible financial habits.I have been looking online for advice and I came across a really cool article (I'll leave it below) that has around 30 tips that will be helpful for those who need to cut back on their expenses. I hope it might be helpful.
My advise is spend it on next expansion, form extra duplicates craft, anything, you want to play. Do not force your self to specific set, as you most likely wont get cards you are fishing for. So invest in expansion that will be in standard for as long as possible, and craft whatever you feel might be entertaining.
If you miss any particular good legendaries/epic from classic craft it in first place.
his is the way i use it, and now (with pre-ordering all sets since ungoro) I sit at almost 62k dust and play all the decks i feel competitive/fun in both standard and wild
edit:
ups, sorry didn't notice its necro.
First and foremost ask yourself i you are willing to pay for that game. From my self experience, when i was trying to play for free, it was miserable and unfun experience, being forced to play one meta deck, because of lack of resources (taking in consideration, that blizz on regular basis is hitting best classes with nerfbat)

Can we see your distribution of cards in WW? And what sort of legendaries and well played epics you are missing? What classes do you like to play?
Wait to see how good this new expansion is. If it is a good as Boomsday....then you'll have plenty of gold/dust for your missing classic cards
Sure, you can mouseover my profile name, click "View user Profile" and then navigate to the "Collection" tab.
Buy one classic pack at a time until you hit a legendary. Then move on to WW and do the same. Then if you have anything left, save it.

Pretty sure you can stop buying Classic (just safe-craft Leeroy Jenkins if you regularly play Aggro).
You could dare to reach the next WW pity timer, but only if you miss significant legendaries and/or epics from there.
In general, it is always better to invest dust on old sets and gold on the new releases.
I'm not F2P since the get in here bundle, I preorder every new expansion and buy every bundle.

Precisely. I'm missing some "hot topics" from WW tho, like Baku the Mooneater, Genn Greymane, Shudderwock, Hagatha the Witch, etc. so I may consider spending gold up to TWO pity timer rotations...
edit: and yes you're definitely right, for safe crafts like Leeroy Jenkins, Alexstrasza and Harrison Jones I'll just use dust.

first thing I think you should focus on not posting in threads from 2018
Hunter is traditionally always the easiest and cheapest class to start building decks with that can win games.
Its not my style though. I prefer mage, priest or rogue for fun decks. They don’t always win, but when they do, it’s like a good show.
Even if you plan to stay free to play, I’d advise spending some money on the welcome pack. It’s very cheap and excellent value.
Welcome to the game :)
