Has Blizzard explained how playing a magnetic minion in magnet mode will work on a full board?
Assuming that it is a minion when played on the left and not a buff then technically the game shouldn't allow you to play the card as you'd have a full board.
For example if it was your turn and you draw a really nice magnetic minion and you want to buff a mech on board but your board is full, that would be pretty bad as you'd be forced to make an unfavorable trade if you're smorcing or you'd be completely unable to play it if you can't remove any of your minions on board.
ye i'm pretty sure if you don't have board space you wouldn't be able to play the magnetic minion, you'll need at least one space free so yes that would mean trading in something first to make room or if you can't then unable to play the minion that turn altogether.

You can't play minions on a full board. It makes sense you should not be able to play magnetic ones either. They have to be placed at a side too.
I appreciate that the concept is straightforward, however this punishes archetypes that like to go wide (token druid, aggro paladin and whatever the new meta brings, etc).
Also, in the realistic sense, the minion is attaching itself to another minion, therefore not occupying a space on the board. The issue is the game rules stopping you from being able to play the card.
I guess we'll have to wait and see what's possible and what's not
This should be obvious, you can't play a minion on a full board, magnetic is a keyword used on minions only = therfore you can't play magnetic minions on a full board, shouldn't even be a question
This should be obvious, you can't play a minion on a full board, magnetic is a keyword used on minions only = therfore you can't play magnetic minions on a full board, shouldn't even be a question
Why shouldn't it be a question? When the magnetic minion is played on the left side of a mech, it is no longer a minion, it's a buff on an existing minion already on board, so realistically speaking you're not 'gaining' extra board space.
I'm glad you think it's obvious but I think it's a valid discussion
Since you don't even have the option of playing a minion when the board is full (the green outline isn't there), and the magnetic minion is still a minion while it's in your hand, I think it'll be impossible.

I think he means it kinda "needs" to be a minion first, therefore not able to play it ina full board
I understand the question and it is a valid one. They are acting like buffs rather than a battlecry. In fact, they are not a battlecry at all. But the way that Blizzard coded the Magnetic keyword seems to be that you will need board space in order to 'attach' the magnetic minion.
I also hope there is some indication in the animation because people may forget or new players may not realize that magnetic is to the left and minion is to the right.
What if I wanted to play a mech to the left for board position reasons? I can't.

Are you just picking something out to disagree with? It makes perfect sense. Same reason you can’t play Carnivorous Cube on a full board; the keyword is that they need to be PLAYED first. After that, the effect takes place.
I’m sorry, but it really is just THAT straightforward.

Calm down, it really is a good question for new players. We should be more helpful towards newer members to the community, and not just shoot them down. No need to sound so patronizing. I do think the magnetic keyword would be confusing if I was just starting Hearthstone up today (and also, if I didn't watch their release trailer thing describing it). Nobody likes to watch those videos though lol =P

Sorry, but you can not force others to behave the way you want. If someone doesn't like new players and questions like this one, he or she has the right to express his/her disconfort towards them. Many new players aren't kids that need human warmth, they are grown teenagers or adults with enough capacity to understand the simple mechanics of Hearthstone if they put some effort when thinking about them. After all, Hearthstone is not rocket science.

Dude! He said "We should..." he didn't say "We must...". He was trying to show support not boss people around. He was literally doing what you said others have the right to do, express themselves.
Honestly, I try and post a simple discussion thread on a rather confusing (my opinion) mechanic and people lose their sanity over it.

I know he said "We should", but he implied a "We must" if you read his entire comment. I'm not here to start a fight or anything, just wanted to express myself.
I don't recall saying we must lol. And if I did just start Hearthstone today I would still have that question about magnetic. Except I wouldn't ask because I'd be scared of internet warriors calling me dumb so I'd just wait to test it out myself lol.
Which is obviously the better thing to do, as you've proven. I was just trying to show a little support for a fellow Hearthpwner, was all. Not trying to push my ideals on anybody.
Edit: I also directly said that if he watched the trailer explaining the mechanic he wouldn't have this question. We're on two sides of the same coin here haha.
Lord Jaraxxus works the same way. If you have a full board, you can't play him. Look at the magnetic cards as battlecries. You play the minion first, then its battlecry (magnetic effect) triggers.
I also hope there is some indication in the animation because people may forget or new players may not realize that magnetic is to the left and minion is to the right.
When you hover a magnetic to the left of a mech you start seeing electricity between the two, as if they are trying to bond together. When you hover a magnetic to the right of the mech it acts like a normal minion: the other minions move and nothing specical occurs.
So worse case is that the new player doesn't read the text and drops the minion to the right and never learns that the mechanic means something. Though to be a little blunt if you are trying to play a card game without reading the text that pops up when you look at the card then you're going to have a hard time.
I'm confused about why this question keeps popping up. To me it just seemed obvious that the mech with magnetic was a minion up until the point it combined itself with the mech in question, which meant that the minions wouldn't be treated like spells and ignore board size. *Shrugs*

Yes, I think it sadly won't work since you have to play the magnetic guy first...
