Answer one simple question. What should a man do when he wants to buy a larger number of packages at a good price, but he does not want this "thing", what is this Mecha-Jarraxus portrait?
This ugly portrait exaggerates the price of the Mega Bundle. I wanted to buy 60-80 packages at a good price, but certainly not at a price that was inflated by the Mecha-Jarraxus portrait. I will not spend 20% of my monthly salary on such a "thing"...
Where the hell do you live man? 80$ do not even cover my electricity expenses, lol
In Poland (Europe). 80$ and in the shop in HS this prise is 350 PLN. My net salary is 1705 PLN and minimum monthly wage in my country is 1550 PLN.
LOL ...you guys are too funny. Hell, when my friends and I get together for a 'Gaming Weekend', we'll spend $80 just on a run to Taco Bell ..... :p

I THINK FOR MYSELF, THEREFORE.... I'M AN ATHEIST !!!
This expansion's money will go to We Happy Few. It is simply a terrible pre-offer for a random acquisition.
Good job Blizzard! You are losing us, the paying players!!
Nope. Hearthstone has never been more popular and they have never had more paying players.
Can you prove me wrong?
I can tell you I know 4 people who decided not to buy this expansion.
Make that 5 because I'm not buying it either. Also, Hearthstone will always be popular. Why? The same reason Musicians earn more than doctors: because their music can easily reach the entire planet while for doctors it's hard to sell their service across the world without travelling.
I sure hope this game won't reach outer space because I don't really want our home planet to be bombarded by aliens who lost some games of Hearthstone because of RNG.

Are you talking about massive chart topping artists making more money than doctors? I'd guess the average musician makes way less than a doctor.
When I was a kid, if i wanted to eat milk and cereal for breakfast, i had to go milk the cow and harvest grains. And we only had one bathroom which was outside the house. Imagine sharing that with 6 family members.
You had a cow and grains? LUXURY!
When I were a kid, if I wanted to eat breakfast I'd have to get up at 4am, two hours after I'd gone to bed, fashion a shiv from an old spoon before entering the daily breakfast thunderdome with the other kids in the village. All for the chance to watch someone else eat breakfast and maybe, MAYBE be allowed to lick the bowl when they were done...
Man, that's some luxury. If I wanted breakfast I had to get up 2 hours before I went to bed and hunt crocodiles for crocmeat (only animal around where I'm from) and we didn't have luxury things like spoons. No my friend, I had to choke them out and eat them while they were still alive. No time to cook as I'd have to be in time for my 25-hour shift at the factory.
And the main problem with kids of today is when you tell them this, they just don't believe you.
lol im guessing someone has never played other card games before, the fact that you are complaining about buying packs of cards in a collectable card game is ridiculous, thats like complaining about having to learn combos in a fighting game.
Millennials in a nutshell. They grew up in a safe and "effortless" environment where everything is pretty much given to them thanks to advanced technology. So it's pretty common for them to take the easy patch and complain instead of working hard.
When I was a kid, if i wanted to eat milk and cereal for breakfast, i had to go milk the cow and harvest grains. And we only had one bathroom which was outside the house. Imagine sharing that with 6 family members.
I also just don't get it. I don't like to be dismissive but god damn this just comes of as complete and total entitled BS to me. Does anyone have any idea how fucking ecstatic I would have been to have daily quests that gave me anywhere from 20-80 cents and 10 cents for every three wins during my MTG playing days!? That the moment I decided I would play magic that I would just get, FOR FREE all of the current core set!? That at the start of every expansion they would reduce the cost of packs to 1.00 per pack for 80 (50) packs!? As it stands Hearthstone packs usd value is STILL cheaper than MTG was back in 1993.
Now before people go in on me I understand there are some differences. Firstly cost to actually make a physical card and of course having the physical card. However this is mostly a perception based difference for most players, unless you are a collector who took very good care of their cards and intend to make some money off their increased valuation.
But for most that is not the case. Functionally HS packs are exactly the same to me as a MTG pack only cheaper, with me getting a ton of free cards for just playing the game and when I do spend money getting vastly more bang for my buck in general, especially at a expansion launch. So it's really difficult for me to sympathize with anyone who whines because they want a skin that is purely cosmetic that is attached to a bundle. It's akin to an MTG player bitching about wanting a particular play mat but you can only get it if you buy this new MTG expansion bundle. It's just mind boggling to me.
The initial creator of this thread doesn’t even like the skin , he thinks this MechaJaraxxus is super ugly.
He just complained that HS is too expensive, and because the bundle costs 20% of some people’s monthly income therefore it should also cost x amount less ( wich it does kinda in some countries) . Even if Blizzard pays their employees the US standards.
Its like someone allowed you to visit a super nice Park for free, you can walk or hire a bike to get there faster( wich allows you to spend more time, and explore more stuff) OP claims to never use a bike , loving to walk , but is very upset about the hiring cost of that Bike. So upset he makes a thread to convince others that it’s too expensive (in his eyes) to lower the hiring cost of that Bike that makes new attractions, and free entry to the Park possible.

The original point to this thread mis-used terminology to be purposefully divisive. The OP himself admitted this was never going to be an issue he personally had to deal with because he spends no money on the game. The only real point was to be dishonest by mis-using terminology, like loot boxes and incite people. So, goal accomplished I suppose.
If you want the skin you have to fork over 80 bucks(or more depending on where you live). That's the pill many can't swallow. It would be sensible of them to create more options for the players.

Then don't buy that thing that is purely cosmetic and has no real impact on anything. It's beyond ridiculous to me that the logic here is "I want this pretty thing that is purely cosmetic but don't want to buy the bundle, I QUIT PLAYING YOUR GAME EVEN THOUGH THIS THING I WANT HAS LITERALLY NOTHING TO DO WITH THE GAMEPLAY".
It's a bitter pill, I won't argue, but it's just not that serious.
Further more we may get an opportunity to get it later.
Oh, the thread you could express your childish hate got locked, so you took your stupid ideas elsewhere? You poor victim, you. How dare they support something you don’t?
Reported most of his posts and his account. He made the account an hour ago just to spam the same comment and encourage BM. I hope my report is taken seriously and an IP ban is issued.
I think it could be considered encouraging harrassment the way he is going about it regardless all he does is further devalue any argument against the bundle. Sure it sucks if you really want the skin and not the packs but hey that's not Blizzard's problem their problem is appeasing their shareholders.

That's true. Honestly, I'm let down. I thought he was going to make a funny comment, considering the account name he chose. Instead, he chose to make it worse for himself and have everyone immediately against him. And he calls his idea a gift... what a load of ego filled shit.
There are a lot of side arguments and minutia being addressed here over the past couple of days and that's all well and good, but something I've noticed more and more is the notion of this being a bad business practice. This is objectively false.
Eschewing issues with the term "business practice", I'll just say that the advisability of offering an item to purchase can be judged by the cost of the item vs projected sales, the likelihood of enticing (or discouraging) future business, and effects on brand identity. Brand identity is such a small consideration with game developers, it doesn't deserve much of a mention.
Cost of offering this bundle is very close to zero. The card back and set of cards were already developed. Whatever costs involved in animating and voicing the hero skin will not in any way threaten the profit margin here.
As much as some in this thread would like to pretend this is going to cause a mass exodus from the game, there is no evidence to suggest that and plenty of history to suggest the opposite. New expansions generally either grow the player base or cause no change. I base this claim on three years of revenue reports from Blizzard.
Anyone who is seriously considering buying more than 50 packs at any point during Boomsday Project's run is obviously facing a large value proposition in buying either the 80 bundle or both bundles. Anyone who was NOT considering buying more than 50 packs might reconsider upon seeing the chance to buy more packs at the lower rate. Anyone who isn't going to buy ANY packs is unaffected either way.
If you aren't following, this is a great business practice.
As to why they don't do <50 pack bundles, the answer would require data we don't have, but I assure you there is an answer. Perhaps Blizzard believes that if they offer a $20 bundle, more people will skip the 50 bundle to buy the 20 than would buy the 20 when they otherwise would buy nothing. If that was the case, the $20 bundle would lose them money. This is one of several possible reasons.
Feelings are feelings, opinions are opinions, a lot of the pontificating on business practices going on here is just flat uninformed.
I'm loving mecha-jaraxxus into regular jaraxxus games. Good times.

Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.
The initial creator of this thread doesn’t even like the skin , he thinks this MechaJaraxxus is super ugly.
That is the complete opposite of what I said. I was quoting other users. My complaints were about how content we used to get for free (the hero portraits) are being paywalled to a limited time $80 preorder.
He just complained that HS is too expensive, and because the bundle costs 20% of some people’s monthly income therefore it should also cost x amount less ( wich it does kinda in some countries) . Even if Blizzard pays their employees the US standards.
Not once in my OP did I mention the foreign exchange rates. My complaints were because the Mega Bundle adds fuckall and they wanna charge $80 for it.
(Although, the foreign players do bring up a good point. The exchange rates for the Mega Bundle in countries like Poland and Russia are not pretty.)

Firstly, shit analogy. Secondly the original topic of the thread was on how the Mega Bundle was paywalling a hero portrait, when we get those for free, and also because the Mega Bundle is just a slightly bigger preorder bundle. As a sidenote, I also pointed out my long standing belief that preordering video games (let alone preordering loot boxes) is absurd and honestly anticonsumer.
But hey, it’s okay that you didn’t read my long ass OP. It’s not like I left a tl;dr explaining all my points for people like you.
EXCEPT I TOTALLY DID! OOPS!
A new hero portrait is locked to a limited time $80 preorder when we used to get heroes for free
If people buy this bundle it would give ActiBlizz incentive to do more and tie more heroes to them.
I guess you couldn’t be bothered to read it because it’s not another copy and paste toxic post, calling me and over a hundred other users entitled when they explain why they don’t like this bundle. Oh well I guess that’s my fault too. But please, continue calling me entitled. I wallow in it.
Won't be buying for me will buy some games for my switch instead

It's a cosmetic
Next time Blizzard will offer two different skins, each associate with different pre-order promotions. Just marketing i guess.
I think i prefer to get the skin free, it feels good to have something different (other than the cards) on release of the new expansion.
