I wonder why Blizz gave us three(!) weeks of such dust-heavy daily quest event. Even pre-Witchwood event was two weeks long, not three. Maybe it was so because the next expansion set will be quite rich with high value dust-heavy cards (epics and legendaries), so they give everyone a chance to have enough dust to craft at least something of value?
What do you think of it? Or there might be some other reasons for this generous dust giveaway?
Maybe to help new players. I could not imagine starting out new to this game. I tried out a f2p account a little while back. Was a terrible experience. I would not play this game if I did not have a big collection already.
Last year was the double gold event for quests, this promotion ends up being around the same as that. If you prefer arena last year's was better though.

If you thought you knew what you think I know, then you'd know I knew you knew I know.
Well, I know that my opinion will probably not be popular, but I absolutely hate that Blizzard has printed so many useless epic cards and legendary cards. I have kind of lost most of the thrill of opening up an epic card or legendary card since most of them are useless.
I hope that Blizzard can make legendary and epic card stronger( therefore artificially increase the cost of the game), but provides more golds to reduce grinding ( hence artificially decrease the cost of the game). In the end players can feel goods to use all the epic and legendary cards, while the game is essential the same cost as before.
Most people probably think that the game is too expensive. As much as we all hope that the game can be cheaper, I highly doubt that making the game cheaper will make the game less stale, as many claim. Blizzard can totally make ladder harder to climb (to give the sense of progression & furthermore separate the players rank based on skills). For example, if Blizzard make the ladder 50 levels, which most required 5 stars to climb and drop 5 levels at the end of the seasons, and capped the maximum rank dropped to rank 30. In that case, most new players will never meet long term players.
Besides that, Blizzard can give new players more rewards for playing. For example, earn 10 golds for each game you played until you have earned 15000 golds. This will encourage people to grind more and make the game for friendly to new players.
Blizzard is slowly improving the resources' distribution of HS in the past months. That probably because they're aware of new competitor coming and how out dated HS system is. On top of that they know that no cow can be milked forever, so just toning down their greed in due time.

For what profit is it to a man, if he gains the world and loses his own soul?
Veteran players are typically gathering resources by now, gold and dust, saving for the next expansion: giving a bonus may invite veterans to craft some extra cards and try some extra new stuff, thus renewing the meta a little bit.
Also, double class legendary expansions are increasingly expensive. Some giveaway helps the feeling of survivability for casual players.

No brain - no pain.

I think next expansion will be not 135 cards as usual, but 270. thats why we have better daily quests and this dust event
No chance sorry why would they do that? That is an awful business decision when people are already complaining about being non FTP friendly
Three weeks of extra 60-100 dust event is going to about work out to everyone getting a free legendary of their choice
Dust for Tess and Lynessa and Shudderwock XD
Do not question free! Free is free! Enjoy!
At least they'll be no threads about greedy Blizzard for the next 3 weeks. Thank God.
I dunno about more enjoyable, I played a lot of quest priests and that's not fun when you have a play mage cards quest ;)
It's because competitive decks are very expansive.
Next expansion will come mid august with a different new breed, because of team 5 changes..
This is the internet and people will always find something to complain about.

oh my sweet summer child, how optimistic.....
They are giving you dust for next expansion that will be announced in 3 weeks :)
That because they sucked hard at this expansion now they try to gain players they lost back.

Dream on :D
New players get more fuel.

maybe they realized f2p model in hs sucks dick and are testing better options
They’re doing it because they want to give players a reason to log in and play. But it won’t do much long term.
