I fail to see why someone think that this is better than Zola. Almost all the time in HS, you want something to happen right now or at least very soon. Very rarely you do something so you can have some benefit 20 turns later. You will very often be dead by then.
Imo it's only good with Shudderwock, but insanely good with Shudderwock
There's no reason to play it with shudderwock. It just makes the OTK less consistent by adding more cards to your deck that you don't need, and there's no reason to run a non-OTK shudderwock deck.
I can only really see Banker being played in some kind of fatigue/mill deck, which is basically restricted to warlock with gnomferatu and the Echo legendary or some kind of hand/mill fatigue druid, but I don't see either of those decks being particularly good in the meta with OTK shudderwock and spiteful decks going around, especially with Coldlight oracle rotating out.
It's a fun card and all, but it's not doing anything particularly impressive.
FWIW - Manic Soulcaster has the same effect, but according to HSReplays she's only played in about one out of every two hundred Mage decks, and about one in every seventeen Reno Mage lists in Wild, where you might suspect that she would have the most/best targets.
Putting a card into your deck is rarely worth the opportunity cost of playing a vanilla minion - when you queue into an aggro deck, and your only on-curve play is Baleful Banker or Manic Soulcaster, you'll probably lose those games. To her credit, MS has premium stats for a 3-drop, while BB will simply die for free against opposing 2/3s. I'm not convinced that anyone is "sleeping" on the new card. We'll see, I suppose . . .
Manic Soulcaster didn’t see play after Reno rotated mainly because of its class limitation. A neutral 2 mana version will definitely see play, but I don’t think it’s quite as good as OP believes. A good value card: yes. Gamechanging: no.
Manic Soulcaster did not see much play

HYPE HYPE HYPE.
HAHAHAHA OTK isn't nearly the only way to play Shudderwock
Don't mind me just passing by

At least the Banker card has creepy art.

Alright alright, I'll admit, you inspired me.
Here's my "Shuffler" Exodia Paladin with Baleful Bankers and Zola the Gorgon.
