3 cost 2/3 draw 1 is good regardless though. This'll likely be a staple regardless of whether or not you're running only nature spells, but you can tool it for your deck to draw specific spells, like Stormstrike/rockbiter + Cagematch Custodian for aggro doomhammer shaman, any of your AoE spells/Serpentshrine Portal/Hex/Tidal Surge + Shattered Rumbler, Lilypad Lurker, or Earth Elemental/Fire Elemental for a more control/slower midrange deck, or an overload spell + Unbound Elemental for some overload synergy.

A 3 mana 2/3 + draw 2 most of the time; otherwise draw 1, is still quite good for a class that's main issues have tended to be driven by lack of good draw options and poor consistency. This covers both.

This is insane. Even with some of the weaker deathrattles, like leper gnome, this can push 4 damage to face or something. Deathrattle/face hunter will love this.

Control decks running thalnos or loot hoarder getting 2 draws off of this is similarly great value.

Even just getting a "summon a  1/1" deathrattle isn't bad.

This might just end up in every deck that runs a few deathrattles.

This card is super strong if you run some decently high cost spells. It's a weapon, so it's not easy to get rid of and you can set up for next turn, and if you get even a 3/3 off of the spellburst, it's a very good card.

Just because paladin as a class has some issues doesn't make this a bad card. It's good for tempo/aggro decks as well, since it gives you a 6/6 body off of avenging wrath. This will probably be staple in almost any paladin deck; it's easily one of the best cards for paladin in standard.

Diligent Notetaker is a shaman card, so this isn't a concern. It's not likely to be OP in shaman. The best combo I can think of is lavaburst for 10 damage to the face at 8 mana; maybe 12-14 damage with spell damage. Not bad for 2-3 cards, but not game-breaking, considering the relatively low tempo value.

Outside of that, you're probably only getting a 3-4 mana removal spell; shaman doesn't have the same sort of high-power spells to do something really crazy with this, like druid or mage might. Fireball is notably better with it than lavaburst. It's just a "good" card though, and I can't really see it being broken in any shaman deck, even in wild. It just doesn't generate enough tempo, and you can't really play it on turn 2 for tempo, because you need to play a spell while it's on board for the card really be good.

Unless shaman get a new spell that really breaks the game, the card will probably be a staple in decks that can really make use of it.

I guess burgle/thief rogue could somehow get this and combo with it using shadowstep, but how is that deck going to fit knife juggler? And, the chances of getting a notetaker are pretty low to begin with.

Seems like this deck could use a real threat to actually end the game once you start the chain of blocking them from playing cards. There aren't any minions large enough to end the game in the next turn or two. Maybe slot in an Imprisoned Antaen or two or Magtheridon instead of the loot hoarder, command of the Illidari, and maybe Enhance-o-mechano or something. Drop this combo on the turn they activate, so you can wipe the opponent's board then win the game.

This deck probably has a bit too much draw, and not enough control cards to clear the board, and the hand will clog up really quickly with the combo pieces, so the Feast of Souls + command of the illidari combo probably won't work out for draw.

After Thaurissan -> Vargoh + Taldaram or faceless + Drakkari Enchanter is 7 mana. Dropping 2 mana burns doesn't quite cut it. If Magtheridon was played the prior turn, you could double explosive sheep + eye beam for the last 3 mana to wipe the board first. That'd require an 8 card hand though. If you hit a combo piece or two with an outcast Skull of Gul'dan, you could play the Faceless as well.

Or maybe you could throw in a Warglaives of Azzinoth to clear the Magtheridon minions and drop Magtheridon on the same turn as starting the combo, using Consume Magic to get through any taunts. Maybe play 2 Raging Felscreamer so Magtheridon is always 0 mana, though it may be hard to find room in the deck with the need for cards to control the board.

By clearing the board and putting out a large minion at the same time as you stop them from playing cards to react, you ensure that they don't have board control when you start hitting them in the fact to win the game.

posted a message on New Paladin Epic Card Revealed - Libram of Hope

Maybe, but the mana cost can be reduced by up to 6, so... I get the feeling this Libram control/midrange deck will be pretty strong. All the Librams are reasonably costed on their own, but with the reductions, they get insanely good really quickly, and the minions that reduce the costs aren't bad on their own. a 2 mana 2/3 and a 5 mana 4/6 taunt are both reasonable without extra effects (in arena; in constructed, extra effects are pretty much always needed).

Even just -1 to this mana cost makes it strong. At 9 mana it's not even a bad card, and you can potentially play it 4 times with Lady Liadrin.

Paladin might end up being a top class this expansion.

Depends. If some kind of big handlock that uses The Dark Portal comes up, this could be pretty good, since it will let you cut the lower cost minions from the deck to raise the reliability of getting an ideal minion and still have enough threats for winning control match ups.

Play AoE -> Play this card -> play a cheap minion with +2/+2 in an aggro match up, or Replacing your hand full of removal with buffed minions in a control match up could be really good.

posted a message on New Hunter Rare Card Revealed - Clear the Way

Considering how much access hunters have to cheap rush minions, I think this'll be very easy to complete actually...

Springpaw is probably the big one, but beast decks can also run: Hunting Mastiff Halazzi, the Lynx, Hench-Clan Hogsteed, Vicious Scalehide, Amani War Bear, Oondasta, Zilliax, Bug Collector, and/or Desert Spear .

There are also quite a few rush mechs, and one of the Galakrond invoke minions has rush, if Galakrond ends up being good.

It could also trigger off of Revenge of the WildSwarm of Locusts(if this works? It fills the board, so it might block the quest minion), and [card]Unleash the Beast[/card]; also any of the beast duplicating cards could add more to your hand.

It's just a 1 mana 4/4 rush if you're running a somewhat decent number of rush minions, which most hunter decks already do.

Seems pretty strong actually; I think it's almost certainly better than toxic reinforcements, since you can activate it on the same turn you play it pretty easily. Perhaps an ideal situation would be playing this turn 1, Springpaw + Lynx on 2, and desert spear on 3 to activate it.

posted a message on New Warrior Card Revealed - Hack the System

They're for completely different archetypes though. This isn't a card for control warrior. It's for mid-range/aggro warrior. The quest can be completed fairly quickly, and the effect helps you maintain a tempo advantage gained from weapons to push for lethal. The effect can be seen as 2 4/3 minions for 4 mana per turn with a weapon equipped, or 1 4/3 for 2 mana on turns when you don't have a weapon.

    Hello Glinda Crowskin.

    We all love you!

It can actually be doable. U need her to survive a turn, then have 2 mogus and a demonbolt in hand. play 6 mogus, demonbolt glinda for 1, play the last mogu.

You can guarantee it if you make it to fatigue with Baleful Banker and the quest hero power. Glinda + Banker + hero power would give you a 0 cost glinda.

It's a token, not a card. You can't roll tokens with conjurer's calling.

Paladin and warlock hero powers are probably better than hunter/druid/mage hero powers unless you're playing an aggro deck, and for an aggro deck, rogue might be the best.

Getting 2 1/1 tokens is actually an amazing upgrade. Back when Justicar was in rotation, control paladin was the only deck that ran it aside from control warrior, and that was with no synergy; getting 2 1/1s every turn is just fantastic value for any longer games, and lets you trade more efficiently.

The warrior hero power isn't nearly as good for paladin as it is for warrior, since paladin don't have shield slam or anything to work with it.

posted a message on New Shaman Spell - Rain of Toads

This card is probably bad. 3 2/4 taunts isn't THAT good, and overload 3 means you're crippled the following turn. There's a reason the other overload 3 cards don't see any play.

Shudderwock shaman has no space for this. The only deck that might be able to run it would be overload shaman, but that deck is awful, and this is unlikely to change that.

Malygos, Velen, 2x Radiant Elementals, Thalnos, Baleful Bankers (allows you to shuffle radiant elementals/velen back into the deck)

Seems like an easier way to pull off a mindblast OTK, since you never have to be concerned with the Velen/Malygos dying.

You could also pair it with spirit lash to heal for a huge amount and board clear, then use the standard resurrect package to set up later.  It guarantees the mindblast OTK combo if you draw it before the combo minions.

Deathrattles and big priest are the other obvious choices. Play this -> quest complete. Would be more reliable than using it to set up an OTK.

Same could be said about Quest Rogue. I've started insta-conceding or Alt+F4'ing the moment I see T1 Quest popping up, the shit just ain't worth the bother.

I think Quest Rogue has gotten too strong after they released so many micro synergies. With Vicious Scalehide, Glacial Shard AND Wax Elemental the deck has a realistic chance to actually beat aggressive and tempo decks. Probably should gut it entirely, it's had its fair share play for over a year.
I think the addition of Sonya was the problem. Having a card that guarantees quest completion if you draw it is not a good thing. Sometimes they bounce a charger twice, then play sonya on 5 and complete the quest. Then Scalehide lets the quest rogue heal back up vs aggro/midrange decks that didn't manage to kill it before the quest was completed, and there's nothing the other player can do once the quest is complete, because silences and transforms don't work, and the rogue can bounce 1 mana 5/5 charge minions to OTK. The completion effect should have been something like "Set the attack and health of minions in your hand and deck to 5", which would prevent the vanish OTKs and let people interact with the quest-rogue board after the quest is complete. The completion condition probably never would have needed to be nerfed had that been the case.
