I always wondered why people buy the pre-order if they can wait to see the cards first. I never buy it myself, too expensive. However if I did I would wait until all the cards are out and decide if I need the extra cash investment.
Anyhow, there are always lots of cards which don't make it into decks. It's seldom that hard to make most of the good cards. But in any case, expansion preorder is pretty much always the best deal for buying packs in this game. If you spend any cash at all on this game, the preorders are a solid deal. Even more this expansion, with 70 rather than just 50 packs.
I didn't preorder the expansion because I have other things I'd like and need to spend the money on, so I'm almost exclusively f2p, which is fine by me. However, I agree with what others have said that it seems silly to pre-order asap just because 'hype train reasons'. You lose nothing by waiting to pre-order til the entire set is released.
So what. I preorder because the cards will be good. Don't lie to yourself and waste time creating threads that don't interest people in deck creation. You really think Blizzard is going to let this game suck? It's one of the best competitive games on twitch right now outside of Fortnite. Cards are well thought out and play tested. This is Blizzard were talking about. You'll be buying, you can't fool us. Even those who really enjoy playing and pretend to not buy like you will buy next week. Go ahead and pretend you won't.
i feel like the expansion is fairly weak as well, but we are losing core cards for every single deck that exists. and many of those decks will not exist anymore.
don't think in terms of power, think of the deck building, the innovation, the meta being completely flipped on its head and being able to be part of that at the start. that's why we pre-order the packs. and now that we get 70 packs for pre-order instead of 50 which is a very welcome bonus
You see one of these posts (if not many) pop up every reveal season... I'll let history speak for itself :
- Back during Un'goro's reveal, I remember people going nuts over two legendaries : The Voraxx and Spiritsinger Umbra. Many called them broken. There was also a certain hunter quest that made aggro hater QQ for days before it even came out. Those same people spat on "trash legendaries" such as Sunkeeper Tarim (which they called a cheap Eadric knock-off), Lyra the sunshard ("Priests spells suck anyways!") and some epics like Living Mana ("LoL! Mass Dispell GG!!")... oh, also, people prayed the RNG gods they would not end up with the suckiest quest of all, the rogue one...
- During KFT's reveal, I remember how people kept saying "I have the worst luck so of course I'm gonna pull Keleseth from my packs! Man that card sucks, what an impossible condition to meet!". They also said the Druid DK was trash. Yup. But man was the pally DK OP!! Also... Shadowreaper who?
- Then came the Kobolds and Catacombs reveal. "Hunters with no minions? Is that a bad joke?" Or "LOL! Warlocks are getting a 5 mana 2/2 that has NO immediate impact on the board! Fail!". People called Corridor Creeper "horrible". Nobody even seemed to remember Spiteful Summoner was even part of the reveal, and Rin was "Never ever gonna see play with such a slow win condition"...
But yeah, no... 65 cards or so to go and so many cards rotating out, sure, let's call it underwhelming and a waste of money. Until next time. :P

I almost always do my best to remember to take that perspective too, but I think there is a problem in how many mediocre cards are scattered all throughout this expansion so far (though we still need to see the remaining reveals).
It also isn't hard to see that certain class cards (most of the rogue reveals) do not solve problems that certain classes struggle with and have been struggling with for awhile. Wanted and a weak tempo rush minion isn't going to change the fact that rogues still lack taunts, heals, and powerhouse long term control/value cards.
No regrets! 70 for $50 is an amazing deal, and if the expansion is as terrible as everyone thinks, that'll be enough to get every card I need.
This^ seriously, even if every card in the set is trash you will get like 7-10k dust 50 bucks for 70 packs is almost as good value as the $20 for 30 we had a few months ago.
Of course I don’t regret preordering. This expansion will shape the meta one way or another. I laugh at all the BS about waiting to see all cards. Are you gonna predict the meta, then decide you don’t like it and stop playing HS? Lol
No regrets. Especially when you can still get a refund. But also you should quit being so negative. There have been some awesone cards revealed across most classes, admittedly not all.
I think this expansion will be so much fun for the creative deck builder.

Laughs in Warlock.
On topic - did not preorder and not going to. Partly due to the fact that I dropped HS for another CCG, partly due to having enough dust and gold to craft the stuff I want for the casual/meme play.

Every class lacks something, that's how the game is designed:
Priests have no weapons and lack early game
Hunter has no card draw and no real board clear
Rogue has no taunts, no big minions and no real board clear
Mage has no big minions and no minion synergy
Warlock loses life easily
Druid has no agro and no real board clear
Paladin has no big minions and no good board clear
Shaman has no early game and no good board clear
Warrior in current meta seems to have nothing except weapons and a few taunt minions
I just hope I don’t get Duskfallen Aviana as one of my legendaries, especially if it’s on pity timer.

I never pre-order without a release date...
Why do people think one expac is gonna fill 3 xpac worth cards
This thread shows up every expansion...

Worth every penny. I'd buy two preorders if they allowed that.

Nope, I liked the expasion so far.

Please don't tell my girlfriend about my card collection...
First time bought pre-order in my f2play history)
The reasons are simple:
1) now I can afford it )
2) 20 bonus packs
3) Didn't save enough gold for upcoming expansion
