So I was just playing an arena game on my phone. I saw that I only had 17% but I didnt expect my phone to die as quickly as turn 10 but it did! Heres the thing tho, my opponent didnt know that! I had lethal on board and in hand but he took his turn really fast and conceded like 5 seconds into it. My phone literally died in the middle of Nemseys' concede voiceline. Had he roped, or simply did anything more than that my phone would have cut off and i would have lost. You never know guys. Someone could decide to tongue kiss their escape key mid game and lose so stay in there
Well I had similar situation, but on my PC. My opponent conceded and my computer has just turned itself off and on right in the middle of, I believe Tyrande's death sentence.

No, no, no, don't tell even more guys to start roping every time they're losing and hope for the 0.1% chance of the opponent losing their connection :/
I can't tell you how many times I have had players concede when I am playing Exodia mage, that would have won if they hadn't. If I know I am screwed, I will start to play my Apprentices, and in probably at least 25% of the games, my opponent will concede. In even more games, I may get the quest off,, but not have Antonidas, or not have a spell to start the OTK ... but, I appreciate the free wins, no less.

I disagree, please just concede when your opponent has (obvious) lethal on the board. Not gonna waste time for the 1% chance that someone disconnects. I especially despise people who deliberately start roping when the game goes unfavourably for them and lethal is likely on the next turn (which is the kind of behaviour you seemingly try to encourage with this thread).
Even if you dont win you get experience from playing cards, your opponent could miss face somehow, or try to do some stupid bm and lose. I mean its not that serious but id rather take the chance

Not have the spell to activate? Do you know you can save second Molten Reflections for Antonidas turn? Or did you meant double Simulacrum? If so, then sorry

I use Echo of Medivh myself, so having no spells is a very real lose condition for me.

It's rare, but it happens .. usually when I get a bad result from a Tome. The most common one I will get that screws me is getting an Ice Block (when I already have one up), a Dragon's Fury (which would kill my own minions), and a Simulacrum.
Other bad option is when I have to go for the Hail Mary play, and use all my spells to finish the quest, and don't draw anything to play on the free turn. Like I said .. rare occasions, but it happens. And when it comes to bad RNG, if it can happen, it will happen to me :-)

A ‘Well Played’ and the first part of a common combo’s is all it takes sometimes. The amount of times I’ve won with a ‘Well Played’ and no Combo pieces is great. Especially you if you faux BM as well. Gotta love the mind games.
I never concede but I don't rope either. I would guess that eight out of every ten opponents will extend the game by waiting for me to concede when they have lethal rather than just executing their lethal. It's kind of weird, but I'm happy to sit there as long as they want. I typically have the TV on so I'll switch my focus to that while they sit there waiting.

I don't play alot of exodia mage, but I am sad I never thought of this, about to get lethaled...not enough combo pieces.... just start BMing and playing combo pieces and hope they concede. Certainly a few people would rage quit.
I did have someone try to BM me once as a mage he had easy lethal, and one of his random spells went off and hit his own face, I don't know the exact sequence since I was hovering over the concede, button....lol

Well, the sad thing is, it's not because of an update. I dunno why, but since last week it keeps doing that, every day, once a day.
Unless your opponent has a clear on-board lethal, or if your matchup has run its course of viability (I'll explain in a second), conceding is as much a waste of time as waiting for the fraction of a percentage of a chance that your opponent somehow loses power on their device or accidentally shuts down the game/disconnects.
Bad matchups aren't a good reason to quit, though. You might face someone who runs out of control/aggro cards in the midst of them trouncing you. You may topdeck a perfect board swing, or discover an answer through RNG. You could simply face someone who's deck is better than they are, and once you outplay their sheer power, all that's left is their inferior skills/gameplan (or even just their bad draw RNG).
So concede if you are absolutely sure you can't recover through some incredible occurrence or smart gameplay, but don't assume a loss until you're sure. Otherwise, you're throwing away a potential win! Losing a win streak is as much of a waste of time and gaining one back.
Best of luck on ladder!

I concede when I know I have lost, because the extra time to wait for lethal is not worth the very rare occasion when you get a freebie from a DC. However I am also always very careful not to concede to Exodia mage until I have seen all of the combo pieces.
Taking a dirty victory because your opponent afks is just sad, you do it, but then boasting about it and telling other people to play out for that chance of game victories because of extra game reasons, that's just pathetic. HS community just hit a new low congratulations

This so much.
Happened to me yesterday. I was playing with my uh... mid-range (I think?) C'thun Paladin and the opponent Exodia mage. I had him at 1 life, popped both Ice Blocks then he completed the quest. When I saw the Apprentices coming down I emoted "Well Played" and start hovering my mouse to the options menu to concede. But something told me to wait and I also didn't want him to think I had rage quited... so I waited to watch myself get burned with infinite fireballs.
Turns out he didn't manage to copy a fourth Apprentice, and had only one mana left for 1 Fireball. Even at 1 cost 10 Fireballs would kill me, obviously. But he didn't manage to make it happen, only managed to discover a Mirror Image spell to prevent my single creature from attacking so he could win on his next turn.
