So I've been playing Hearthstone for months now and stuck to playing entirely f2p. I have finally amassed just enough to buy my first legendary. I play mainly an Oil Rogue deck and wanted to know what the first Legendary I should blow literally 4 months of work on lol. I was thinking Bloodmage, but for 1600 it doesn't seem like a game winner. My other choice is Sylvanas although I don't see her in many Rogue deck's. Any thoughts?
I also have a Harrison Jones and King Krush that I do absolutely nothing with.. I'm considering selling them off to help build up this deck. Any thoughts on that? Thanks guys!
bloodmage is neccesary for oil rogue. it doesnt seem like a game winner but its like a support and cycle card that aids quite a bit. dont DE harrison, i just crafted one :) its very strong right now in meta but doesnt go in oil rogue
Bloodmage Thalnos is a very good utility legend that can be helpful in Rogue as well as some other decks. It sees play from time to time in Shaman, Druid, Mage, and maybe Warlock (Malygos based). That said, there's a general, abstract hierarchy of legends in the game that goes something like this (Assuming that neutrals are more important than class legendaries):
A list like this should give you some sense of the relative significance of the cards to the game--which ones see play, and how important they are to the decks they appear in. Kel'Thuzad, for example, bounces around in a number of decks, but is sort of a secondary win condition that can be hard to pull off. You would always prioritize Tirion Fording over him in control Paladin, for example. Dr. Boom and Sylvanas Windrunner are the two most universal legendaries in the game at this point. It's rarely wrong to put them in a deck. Ragnaros the Firelord used to have that kind of standing, but it's fallen off a bit over time. This list also ought to include Chillmaw, if the Dragon decks persist. That card should probably be somewhere around 20th. The stock of cards rises and falls over time, but Ysera is a good standby at this point because she's hard to kill, will eventually win you the game, and is a Dragon, and so encourages a lot of Dragon synergy. The Black Knight used to be a very strong legendary, but taunts don't feel so fearsome these days with the meta as fast as it is. He might belong right near the bottom of the list too.
Anyhow, I hope that helps to give you some perspective. Good luck!
Are there seriously people in this thread telling OP to craft Loatheb?
Also, if you play Oil Bloodmage Thalnos is basically mandatory. If you want to play almost any other deck Dr. Boom is actually mandatory. And definitely don't listen to that crafting order that put Ysera and Tirion Fordring way higher than they should be and Bloodmage Thalnos below mediocre legends like Rhonin, Malygos, and Cenarius.
To summarize many of the above good comments: 1) IF you really will NEVER play anything else but oil rogue, then probably Bloodmage Thalnos is your best bet to craft. 2) IF there is a chance you want to branch out and explore other classes/decks in the future, then you are probably better off crafting a very versatile legendary such as Dr. Balanced or Sylvannas.
i would craft dr. boom. in some oil rogue lists he sees play, you can try him out and if you want to play something else then dr. booms slots into it easily.

Haha this was a great summary thank you.
And thank you for all the answers guys. To specify, I currently use Oil Rogue because I've always been a Rogue fan and have yet to find something better. I did play miracle for a while until Auctioneer got nerfed. So essentially I would like to continue using Rogue because I've invested an assload of time into it, but I do also use a half decent, Mage, Paladin and Hunter deck hence my question about Sylvanas.
How people have the luxury of having all these legendaries is beyond me. Any secret to getting them beyond spending a ton of real money?

Play a lot of arena.
In addition to arena, make sure you do all your daily quests - they really add up! And don't forget to earn your free pack each time a new Tavern brawl comes out.

The order was based on general deck utility. Tirion Fording is a huge part of being a Paladin. Some aggro Paladins don't run him, but he is one of the most powerful swing legendaries in the game. Cenarius plays a major role in all taunt and heavy ramp Druids, and I have gotten very good use out of the card in a wide range of hybrid druid decks, including some token decks. It's a really strong, versatile card. Rhonin was perhaps a reach, but it's hard to tell where that legendary should be at this point. Malygos is a staple card and building-block for a number of decks, including some Shaman decks, the powerful Dragon Warlock deck, and a variety of Priest combo decks which are viable right on up through legend. Ysera remains one of the most consistent Dragon endgame cards in the game, in part because she's hard to remove. She has definitely gotten stronger over the past several months. Finally, Bloodmage, while a very good card, has seen less and less play with each new addition. I agree 100 percent that he's necessary in Oil Rogue, and probably the most important legendary in that deck. The only other legendary I would really consider running in Oil most of the time is Ed Van Cleef, but he's not seeing much play any more. But apart from Oil, where do you see Bloodmage right now? It might crop up in some Shaman deck. We don't use him in Druid any more, though we used to. I'm not sure where else you're seeing him. It's a great card, and very flexible, and one can conceive of a lot of potential applications for it, but a necessary legend outside of Oil? Not so much.

Freeze mage.
Yes, you are right. I tend to forget about Freeze... I tried using Freeze as my main deck one season. I was hit with Kezan Mystic 6 times in a row at one point, including by MechMage and FaceHunter. Everyone took my Ice Block. I waved a white flag.

Oil Rogues aren't legendary dependants... You should wait until you find another deck you like.
I wouldn't disenchant Harrison Jones, he is really strong depending on the meta. I disenchanted two Harrisons, and now I regret it.
I agree on Bloodmage Thalnos being very important for oil rogue!

There are NO Ragnaroses up here, GO HOME!
Mogor the Ogre Ogre Ninja Dunemaul Shaman Ogre Brute Work for me at the docks.

And maybe?
24. The Mistcaller

Dr. Boom or Loatheb, I don't think you need Bloodmage Thalnos as much as them. Dr. Boom is good for obvious reasons. And I think Loatheb can often times guarantee you have some minions on the board next turn for an easy Tinker's Sharpsword Oil/Blade Flurry turn or some other game winning combo.
Are there seriously people in this thread telling OP to craft Loatheb?
