It's just easier in priest to do prime shenanigans. Both classes lack decent card draw, but priest atleast has some card generation. Control shaman has felt really bad these last expansions - even with all the new interesting tools they've received. As a win condition, playing the prime alone is only really effective vs more aggresive decks, but even then it takes too long to draw it. + Priest has more buffs and stuff that synergize with the prime.
Having tried this in the last expac, I highly doubt that it will work in this one.

I'm not saying build your deck around it or it's going to pull shaman out of the dumpster, but it's a nice combo thats fairly easy to pull off. I do disagree on one point though, shaman has lots of very good spells to buff the reliquary prime with when they come out.
I'm playing with a Highlander Shaman with The Fist of Ra-den because it's fun and i always summon Reliquary of Souls but games don't last long enough to draw Reliquary Prime in time. It's nice that we can do something like this but the game is just too fast nowadays.

Wandmaker and Cobalt Spellkin are sort of good inclusions anyway, Fist or no, so you might aswell. Cobalt spellkin can also serve as an activator for Lightning Breath so there is that. Could work, but I've yet to see a viable control shaman with priest being so effective. Against priest you would need some bursty win condition - primes won't cut it. And in such a deck, it's more likely that you'd want to focus on drawing a combo for lethal than shuffling minions into your deck.

I think you can look at it 2 ways. Shaman is just totally toothless right now (the latest 'buff' is a joke) unless you maybe want to play the most boring deck in the history of the game in totem shaman; or the game would be in a much better place if all the classes has a similar power level and 'fairness' as shaman. I don't pin my flag to a particular class but I have a soft spot for Shaman has it's probably been my favourite overall since the beginning of HS. It's a shame it's always either in the gutter or OP and getting hit hard with nerfs. They could easily reverse all those galakrond nerfs now though with no problems. Would go a long way...

I have to disagree with shaman either always being op or weak. During both RoS and Uldum, Shaman was not problematic in the least (until they brought back wild cards during uldum). It was one of the only classes that could compete with control warrior, which was extremely oppressive during RoS, but Shaman wasn't really busted vs any class. It saw a decent amount of play on ladder, landing somewhere between 3rd and 4th worst class, which is sort of in the middle I guess. In Uldum, Quest Shaman made the class one of the strongest, but it was by no means overpowered.
I would say that this meta is probably the healthiest meta Hearthstone has seen - atleast in a very long time. It is regretable that Shaman is left behind, but we have to remember that Paladin had a similar situation early last year (altough not as bad, there was Tip the Scales and OTK), and priest to an extent aswell. I'm hoping that they will rework it before the end of this year like they did priest, but for now I'm going to enjoy this diverse meta playing other classes. I do share your softspot however, as I used to main it aswell.
I was playing a lot of highlander control/spell shaman both before the Scholomance expansion and in the previous month. Generally I like to cast 3-mana spells with The Fist of Ra-den as, especially after Scholomance, the pool of 3-cost legendaries has gotten really good on average. But in matchups that you know they will go to fatigue (like vs Priest), casting four 1-cost spells is a must...

Just wondering. The Fist of Ra-den + Wandmaker + Cobalt Spellkin = many Reliquary of Souls
Put it into a control shaman deck and Just managed to get 4 Reliquary Prime into my deck fairly easily.
People tried it before. The so called "Reliquary Shaman" was a thing for some time but people realized it wasn't good and it vanished into obscurity.
sorry chief, gimmicks are only allowed in druid.
I can remember but it was never so easy to get 1 cost spells so easily and consistently.
Mate, chucking in Pen Flinger too with the quest and the 1-costs. Going full gimmick here.

Heres my deck for anyone who's interested or has any ideas for it.

fist is good in big shaman, like in my deck or the deck mentioned above by Saveaj
