This weeks theme comes from aeson88whose "Big Little Tough Guy" won our "Places EveryTwo" competition.
Competition-Specific Restrictions:
The expansion hype keeps on rolling! We've now seen a lot more about the new Elemental tribe and how they're expected to function, including our very own card reveal here on Hearthpwn, Kalimos, Primal Lord. We're looking for you to add to the collection.
Your card must either be an Elemental, produce an Elemental or interact with Elementals in some way. You have the Elemental tribe represented somewhere on your card, you're good.
Preview Phase (Starts Now! Ends 20:00 UTC 23/March/2017) During this Phase, the Discussion Topic is made available, previewing this week's competition theme. Entry and Early Voting Phase (Starts 20:00 UTC 23/March/2017, Ends 19:00 UTC 27/March/2017) During this Phase, the Submission Topic is made available for your submissions. You may also, of course, feel free to give early up-votes to any submissions that you like! Voting Phase (Starts 19:00 UTC 27/March/2017, Ends 19:00 UTC 28/March/2017) During this Phase, the Submission Topic will be locked, so no more entries may be submitted. Instead, use this time to browse the submissions and up-vote your favorites! Final Phase (Starts 20:00 UTC 28/March/2017, Ends 20:00 UTC 29/March/2017) During this Phase, the Discussion Topic will also be locked, and a new Poll Topic will go up. Discussion will be allowed to continue in the Poll Topic, and it will also include all the qualifying finalists and poll to decide the winner of the competition!
Discussion Topic Rules
To make sure that everything runs smoothly, we need to reserve the Submission Topic for submissions only. Everything else goes here. What is everything else, you might ask?
Rules or Process. Do you have a question about the competition's process? Do you need clarification about one of the entry requirements? Are you not sure whether your entry adhered to the rules? Ask here!
Feedback or Ideas. Do you have some ideas you'd like to run by others before settling on one? Do you need help balancing or wording your entry? Do you need help finding art that will fit your card? Or do you just want feedback from the community on your entry? You're in the right place! Remember, although you are allowed to make minor tweaks to your entry after you've submitted it, you're only allowed one submission per week, so make sure that you've settled on your card for sure beforehand.
Discussion! Do you have thoughts on other people's entries? Are there directions you don't like that you're seeing too many people take? Or directions you'd like to see more people take? Would you like to help others and contribute to a greater community understanding of Hearthstone card design and balance? This is where you want to be!
All of that said, please refrain from the following:
Posting TONS of Ideas. Discussion topics become an absolute mess if everybody is posting a dozen different ideas. Please post not more than 3 distinct ideas at a time. Any more than that and we'll have to delete your post.
Advertising Your Entry. Please don't pop in here just to advertise your entry only to never be heard from again. This includes only asking short, generic, or insincere questions like "Thoughts?" or "Do you think this is interesting?". Yes, getting feedback on your entry is one of the purposes of this topic, but we're not just here for other people to help you. We're here for you all to help each other. 12 hours after this competition begins, there should be plenty of other posts here for you to give specific feedback or for you to comment on a trend. If you post your entry for feedback after this time and do not also offer some form of substantial commentary, critique, or praise of others' work, you may find your post deleted.
Plagiarism. Many people post their ideas here before finalizing them in the submission topic. Directly plagiarizing those ideas to post in the submission topic yourself is absolutely not acceptable.
So, without further ado, have fun and get creating!
I miss when the expansion themes happened after we knew what the expansion contains.
Look at it this way - now that we have an idea of what Elementals are going to do in the expansion, you can try and predict a card that will get revealed!
Hmm, I'd made this some time ago. I wonder if I can adjust it to make it better. Different art obviously, and I might just go with "Unstable Elemental" rather than make it a legendary, change it to non-Elementals instead of non-Demons... I think I could have something interesting here, flavor-wise...
Just kidding - however i think it will be pretty interesting to figure out what really MAKES an elemental designwise. Dinosaurs might have been a little easier on that front. :)

Here's a few ideas, I was focusing more on interesting ways to activate your Elementals than just creating minions.
Murlocalypse is supposed to synergise with the new Shaman quest, Unite the Murlocs. The idea is you could use Murlocs for early drops to get the quest rolling and then when you move towards the later half of the game you can start playing your bigger Elementals and have them count towards your quest. You can also use Murlocs as activators or your Elementals. I really don't know if this is way too crazy or just way too slow to be useful!
With Burning Trickster I was thinking of alternate ways to activate your Elemental effects. When this card is on the field, your Elementals are always active, regardless of what turn it was played.
Pilot Light is spell that I thought would fit with Mage fairly well. It's simply designed to give you 3 activators for your Elementals in the form on Tiny Flames... with the flavor of a gas stove =P

Still not sure about the wording for this one? Is it clear what the effect does?
Now Pilot Light gives a you a spell rather than a tiny elemental minion.

Murlocalypse seems too expensive for what it does. It's also not really that great of an effect. Burning Trickster is a lot better. The effect isn't exactly clear. Does it count as having playing an Elemental last turn the turn you played it? Or every turn while it's out? It's kinda confusing because of the transferring a past tense clause to the present case. Pilot Light also isn't that great of a card. 0/1 minions are really bad, so you're just paying 2 mana to advance your Elemental counter by 3, which isn't that great. It's a huge tempo loss.
Also, where did you fight that art for Burning Trickster? That would be the perfect art for my card.
Here we go. I have another version which is a 4-mana 3/5 instead that has the same card text. Helps Rogues to finish their quests if they can trigger it 3 times without any bouncing shenanigans - and the card text fits it being an air elemental :P

HAHAHHA!! YOU DIDN'T SEE TAR COMIN' DID YOU?! :D
I see, however, that you are a masTAR of surprises (sorry - had to be done :D).
Why not make it 'for each elemental your enemy played last turn' and call it 'Who goes Tar?' :D
I know thats kinda memey but it still made me stupidly giggle to myself (yes, i laugh at my own jokes - shut up!).

Good luck guys :)
Right, THIS TIME! I'm going to make this work, final poll time, heard it here first. :D

Hmm, would've hoped for the new theme to be a little more restrictive - especially with the last one being as liberal as it was.
Yet i'm still excited about what we'll see :)

Here's an idea I had:
It's designed to combo with Ozruk, as well as with the discard synergies of Warlock.
Come Play Make the Keyword!!!

Two old ideas.
Custom cards :
CLASSES : Alchemist (CCC#5 | Phase V) | Chef (CCC#4)
EXPANSIONS : Year of the Scorpion (Year Comp)
This is what I came up with in under 5 min. Might change it/add a new card and add some tokens later.

My first idea because I want to use both Shaman legendarys in one deck.
