dunno I don't think this card is viable even the end result of having your whole cards as legendaries is probably undesired for any deck, since random cards aren't that great even when it's a legendary.. and there are so many garbage legendaries.. oh.. like this one XD
Well looks like this will be one of the useless legendaries from the adventure. Too gimmicky and rng-based. It's not even that good afterwards because it removes all of your spells and thus you have no structure or synergy to your deck. Reminds me of the time where they were discussing the original concept for Majordomo Executus which was quite similar to this.
It's a shame, I was hoping to see some better cards.

You pay 5 mana to increase your deck size by 1, have a minion in play that moderately reduces pressure on your face. Think divine favor, coldlight oracle. You eventually get to a point in the game where your weenies no longer challenge the game, or where you will not win by milling the opponent, so you can play this card for a very real chance to stay in the game.
The 2 mana cycle is "fine" since you can often weave it in in those kinds of decks. It's basically a 4 mana chillmaw in those situations, without the aoe.
the 4 mana 6/6 is just good stats. Especially since it has taunt.
It's also interesting to think about its interaction with chromaggus.
Well ben brode did say that he liked making cards awful cards that taught new players card value. So to me this looks like the legendary of Magma Rager.

The actual body is fine for a 4-mana minion, about average. I think it would be better as a blank minion though, because the resulting cards are awful. The first puts a 2-mana spell in your deck that denies you a card draw. And that spell puts a card in your deck that also denies you card draw. Now keeping in mind that you've been denied 2 card draws and have to find 2 random cards in your deck, you're probably at fatigue when the effect occurs. But if you weren't at fatigue, the effect is awful. You replace a synergistic deck with random legendaries, which while cool and powerful, a deck of all legendaries is god awful. If you don't believe me, try it.
This card might be dangerous in secret Pally deck. I believe Secret Pally is the fastest at drawing cards/pulling cards into play with 2 MCs and 2 Divine Shield...so it will not be too hard to get the Golden Monkey.

Do you guys even realie that you dont want a hand with only legendarys??? One of the worst cards in the game
This is the kind of matchup what this card is designed for. My opponent had 2x Shield Block (which he played before he conceded) and probably a second Slam, a second execute, Sylvanas, Brawl and another card in hand he could not use.
If those kind of matches get more frequent, you might consider running this card to win the fatigue race.
This card is really bad. Why would you ever want a deck with only legendaries? The 6/6 taunt is nice though but the effect sucks.
I think, implicitly, the golden monkey is a late game card that essentially turns the entirety of your end game into a blunt force Control Warrior end game. You're not going to draw the legendary, then the spell, and then the monkey in the first five or so turns of the game, so when you get your deck full of legendaries you'll most likely have the mana to play them as you need, too. It's still extremely slow, but maybe there's a draw based deck to take advantage of it. Consider drawing Varian, knowing your deck will have nothing but playable cards from his battlecry... and you can no doubt get multiple Varians in the same deck.
I'm not saying Elise is good, but I don't necessarily think it's instantly sucky either.

how about a druid deck with the "gain 10 cristal card" and then all other cards are draw cards to be able to find the golden monkey fast and spam play legendaries?
Please look at all the Legs which exist in the game and think about how many you want to play and how long you need to get there. BTW you can already play Leg-only decks, why arent you doing it if its worth it? This card is only for people which do not own any leg. You will see it as often as mirimons head
You don't want to start off with only legendaries, but all the tools you need to control the board. Once you get to the very late game and it's just about who'll fatigue first, you might want to convert your dead cards - acolyte, brawl, whirlwind and so on - to actual threats. And that's where this card comes in handy.
I'm well aware that in the current meta the card is too slow, but iff fatigue wars become frequent you might want to have a hand full of random legendaries.
wait before you think its too slow. its a 4 mana 3/5 that already contests early game creatures such as shredder and all of the popular 2 drops. then it gives you a 2 mana cycle which isnt to bad, which then gives you a chance to outright win the game.
not to mention this card HAS to be the best legendary for f2p players. if this legendary is in say the 1st or 2nd wing you could unlock it in your first day, and build a f2p deck around drawing cards to get this combo going. it sounds fun at the very least. but i think this card has a high potential to be very, very overpowered, and i like it.
normally a deck full of legendaries would be bad and to slow but thats what the 4 mana 6/6 taunt is for. im thinking of a midrange ish druid deck that runs this card and a little bit more cycle than usual. you could win with normal druid ramp shenanigans, but also if your against a heavy control deck and your running out of steam, BOOM golden monkey and gg your whole deck is full of insane cards. and imagine getting a varian that brings out 3 more legendaries

Freeze Mage having all his spelled replaced with random legendary minions is not something I would play. Worst card for a Freeze Mage.
If I could play a card that turned the opponents card into random legendary minions I would tech it against Freeze Mage every day of the week.
