I got one, and I don't see myself ever using it, but I could also see it being really strong if BRM adds some crazy Dragon synergies so I haven't DE'd it. Is it likely the BRM adds any sort of card that will make Onyxia playable?

Well, there are a couple of cards that have battlecries that make them stronger when there is a Dragon in hand, but so far there's nothing that boosts or is boosted by having dragons on the table.
Onyxia can be a good card in token decks (while you usually want to win with a token deck before T9, if you do get to that late in the game, you've probably baited out one or two AoE cards already).
I would say lets wait until all dragon cards are revealed. So far we do not know how far the synergies goes. The only thing we know is that the Blackwing Technician benefits of cards in your hand, the same as Rend.
Only if Onyxia poops out 6 WelpBooms then it'll be cool!! On a serious note, Onyxia is "playable" but still not the best card to use on 9 mana. You can build a deck around a single card but that's usually a terrible deck building idea(especially you can only have one legendary).

No ONE CARD can deal with Dr. Boom, except for Rend Blackhand with lucky 1-damage rolls on the Boom Bots.
Likewise, no ONE CARD can deal with Onyxia, except for Twisting Nether which hurts your own board and isn't played.
So yes, she's slow, but she's still quite powerful. Particularly when followed up with Shaman's Bloodlust and Druid's Savage Roar.
Kind of silly I have to do this to make myself understood.
Granted, i did forget about Lightbomb, but the concept of "countering" means spending an equal amount of cards to deal with whatever the problem is. Rend Blackhand, when he counters Dr. Boom, leaves no excess damage.

If something can be completely removed by a common two card combo before it has had any chance to impact the board, and that combo costs less than the original card (meaning your opponent's board can be further grown at the same time), then yes it has been countered.

No one card can 1-for-1 Onyxia without messing up your own board via Lightbomb or Twisting Nether. Let's stop quibbling about terminology and consider the meaning behind my statement. Onyxia has value because of how hard it is to deal with her. Refuting my statement based upon something you misread is incorrect, and so is refuting my statement based upon terminology.

i think onyxia is one of the dragons that is worth it (atleast in druid) .. i think you should keep her
Time is money, friend.
onyxia and ysera are both already playble in druid cause of innervate and ramping. i play ysera instead of cenarius and it won me countless of games
its possible the hold mechanic means these high mana dragons arent as totally useless sitting in your hand when you draw them early
Try this out.
A fight? Count me in!
...onyxia is unplayable.
I would love to see onyx is as a playable card, I bet it will be to very very soon...as the new dragon card type is still fairly new

Ways to deal with Onyxia:
Druid - Swipe + [BGH or 4 damage... typically one already injured card]
Hunter - Unleash the Hounds (complemented by all sorts of other cards depending on the specific deck)
Mage - Mage actually has lots of answers, but they typically require card combos that aren't run together (e.g. Polymorph/Arcane Explosion)
Paladin - Any of the Equality combos (2 cards, but typically less mana) -OR- Consecration + Aldor Peacekeeper
Priest - Lightbomb (1 card, 3 less mana)
Rogue - Execute/Fan of Knives (2 cards, 1 less mana, draws a card)
Shaman - Hex/Lightning Storm (2 cards, 3 less mana)
Warrior - Brawl (1 card, 4 less mana) -OR- Whirlwind/Execute (2 cards, 7 less mana) - OR - Warsong Commander/Grim Patron (2 cards, 1 less mana, results in board full of 3/2s)
And, of course, if Onyxia does get countered you get nothing from the cards (as opposed to ~5 damage from boom bots)
Not sure if it is a joke or not but Execute is NOT a rogue card. I would say Assassinate+Fan of Knives would do the trick. Or BGH with Fan of Knives.

Typo, I meant to put Assassinate / Fan of Knives
Which I hope would have been obvious by the discussion of cost.
