Is there now any really viable Greymane deck out there? Feel like I'm cheated out of 1600 dust.
And yes, not having access to call to arms will kill Even Paladin. It's the main powerplay, indirectly nerfing Tarim as well.
play even shaman in wild - it's fun and even stronger than paladin. currently 64-17 with it, but that's because i won the first 27 games in a row from rank 25 to rank 15
Injured Kvaldir always reminds me of camel hunter - does anyone remember? :) hard to imagine that was back in a time where a lot of decks would run no onedrops at all
That's definitely possible as I haven't played much ladder in a while. HOWEVER. Let me reiterate yet again.
I am not saying that Control Paladin is potentially Tier 1. I am not saying Control Paladin is definitely Tier 1. All I am saying is that with CTA nerfed and 'the best version of Paladin' being something centered around CTA, there are possibly better ways to build Paladin now and one of those ways could/might be a control deck.
Once again, let me post the most relevant part so you don't quote this post and miss it again.
I AM NOT SAYING THAT CONTROL PALADIN IS OR WILL BE TIER 1.

Great...now Odd Pally, a deck I cannot stand, becomes stronger.
Jesus fucking christ, are people really this dumb?
Tell me, would you pay 5 mana to play 3 one drops? I don't think you would.
5 mana to draw 3 cards and play them immediately(all 1 mana cards). Or 2 mana to draw 3 cards, then play them all.
How is that bad value?
it's not bad value, but it's not good enough for a hard-aggro deck like Odd Paladin. Remember you'd also have to run a lot more 1-drops to justify 2x call to arms, which further damages deck quality.
Not really. Right now the most popular Odd Pally deck runs 10 one drop minions
Righteous Protector
Archerus Veteran
Dire More
Argent Squire
Glacial Shard
For comparison, the most popular version of Even Pally runs less 2 drop minions (9 total), and uses 2 CTA's.
Knife Juggler x 2
Loot Hoarder x 2
Dire Wolf Alpha x 2
Amani Beserker x 2
Swamp Ooze x 1
So already Odd Pally uses more 1 drop minions than Even does 2 drop minions, and Even still uses 2 CTA's. Sure, those 2 drops are better obviously but you could now replace Dire Mole with Gravelsnout as one potential change...
I wonder if anyone would consider young priestess.
Just as with cubelock, it is kind of unreal how long this nerf took to take place. In retrospect it kind of suprises me that nobody ever talked about the "draw" mechanic of this card. In essence, this card draws you 3 cards, which meet certain conditions, and puts them on the board. If you consider the effect at least similiar to a draw mechanic, it becomes very obvious how busted this card was.
Three minions immediately placed on the board, even if they're 1-mana minions, is still pretty good value for 5 mana. It's not INSANE value but I think that's the point. I for one will at least try incorporating Call to Arms into an odd pally deck to see how it works.

I haven't played much Odd Paladin so I could be way off here, but just looking at typical (pre nerf) decklists, it seems to me that playing three 1-drops is about the worst thing you can do in Odd Paladin - you probably want to have an established board that you can buff with Fungalmancer/Level Up! or steamroll your board by playing an even better must-be-dealt-with 5-drop, like Scalebane. Three 1-drops seems like a pretty weak turn 5.

This is why this game does not have constant balance changes. This nerf kills Even Paladin, so if you crafted Genn, he becomes worthless to you. Imagine killing decks on a regulard basis, the f2p/casual playerbase would quickly abandon the game.
Genn will be relevant in every Standard expansion until rotated. The mantle of which class can make best use of him will move around though.

Shudderwock means driving a clown car in circles around your opponent while he swings his sword at you. Half the time he chops you and your car to pieces. The other half you park on his legs and 40 clowns come out one by one, trampling him to death.

Even shaman and evenlock to name two. Even paladin should drop from high t1 to high t2. Murloc paladin will be slightly better and the only t1 deck as no other deck is broken post nerf.
Thanks to the addition of Genn Greymane and Baku the Mooneater, changing the cost of a card is more significant than ever. It is disappointing that I cannot use it in Even Paladin anymore, but I didn't feel comfortable playing it anyway with so many people out to counter it.

Greymane's effect is a terrible design anyways. With each turn that gets closer to 10 mana and further from 1 mana cheapens the benefit of the hero power reduction. In the late game the 1 mana HP advantage is pretty worthless. How often do you really find yourself wishing for one more mana each turn in the late game? Probably not that often.
I feel that the even-based decks were doomed from the start if they weren't aggro or midrange decks since 1 mana HPs have no traction in late game play and pale in comparison to upgraded hero powers across the board.
Clearly by the way you talk you don't understand the meta. Control Paladin is so bad right now it's not even Tier 4 according to tempostorm.

Can't combo even pally with knife juggler anymore... thank god. I don't think it's OP, I just don't want your GD apples on my GD head. Ffs

Well, they killed Even Paladin. Guess I'll play Odd Paladin, which has been left completely untouched.
Great job Blizzard. Not.
What about recruiting 3, 1 mana costed 2 mana statted minions? Does it feel op?
Is anyone dusting this card post nerf?
Play Aggro. Stick with Aggro. Go Face. No where else. Win by Turn 5. Control Decks are garbage.
