I opened Sindragosa today, and I have a decent Mage collection, so I thought about crafting a few cards for Big Spell Mage. I don’t have 1x Doomsayer or 2x Gluttonous Oozes or 2x Meteors. The spells are obviously required, and maybe the 2x Doomsayer, but what about the Oozes? I always see them in the decks, but are they critical? Regular oozes are such a cheaper replacement, I could use that dust for something other than expensive tech cards.
I don’t have Dragoncaller Alana but I’ve seen an equal amount of decks run Sindragosa, so are they comparable in terms of power level? If not, which is more powerful and fun?
last option: craft Baron Geddon and use it in a big spell mage deck, odd mage deck, elemental mage deck, and possibly odd warrior deck. This is the more versatile route, but elemental and odd mage are not too good now.
End of the day, I’m more into fun and powerful decks, but fun trumps power for me. Any tips?
Also, I know that the nerfs will affect the meta, but I’m still going to craft these cards prior to “waiting it out till stuff settles”.
Control mage typicallydragosa or dragon caller, sindragosa can either be bad or good depending on the legendary you get and they're easy pings for water elementals, dragon caller just summons a bunch of 5/5, you dont really need to craft her since you already got sindragosa.
Baron Geddon is just used for the huge lifesteal value during the late game, kind of needed in control mage, and it's fun to see your hp go from 4 to 25.
You really only need 1 gluttonous ooze but two is fine if youre rich. You could replace them with the acidic ooze but gluttonous is generally the better version of it. Harrison jones can replace it too.
Doomsayers are always good in control decks, if you like control you should craft both of them
Regular ooze is probably fine, you've got other sources of life gain. In the big spell archetype, having an extra mana to spend might be better anyway since you'll be able to multiple plays in a turn. Alanna is more consistent than Sindragosa but you're probably fine with Sinny. You've probably got enough sweepers that Baron isn't needed, and even aggro decks (as of today before the nerfs) have plenty of ways to buff their minions out of Baron range, Spiteful and Cube decks won't care about it, but the health swing if he's got Lifesteal is real. If you think he'll fit into other decks then go for it.
I have climbed from 15-5 this month using almost exclusively this deck. I only run the one Ooze, but it can be really critical vs Cubelock and the armor can occasionally get you the extra turn you need to Dragon's Fury or Jaina vs aggro. I have thought about dropping Alanna a couple of times, since getting her in your starting hand is basically an insta lose vs ago, but she can also really turn tides late game as a threat that your opponent has to deal with. I only run one Doomsayer, so you should be fine there, but you'll definitely want the two Meteors. They are absolutely crucial vs Warlock and Druid and is also really useful with Arcane Artificer(often clearing the board, requiring your opponent to use resources on a lowly 1-2, or risk insane amounts of armor buildup). Baron Geddon for me is also a must. He is extremely useful vs aggro. One of my favorite plays vs pally is throwing him out on 7(when I have the coin), often clearing the board, into a coin jaina. HUGE stabilization.
Hope all this helps and good luck, Big Spell Mage is REALLY fun and can be quite powerful when piloted well.
Sorry if my deck upload doesn't work, never done it before.

Elemental Mage is okay and got a leg-up from recent expansions, with the introduction of Bonfire Elemental, Arcane Artificer and the Lesser Ruby Spellstones. It's not a meta-stomper but it's certainly not trash either. When it comes to nailing down the archetype, though, there is a bit of gray area there: I play Elemental Control Mage with good ol' Meteor, the Spellstones, Baron Geddon, Frost Lich Jaina and the like, but there's also the minion-heavy variant with Archmage Arugal + Book of Specters. From what I can tell, it's the latter version that seems to be struggling, while the Control version is just fine.
Anyway, as for the cards in question:
If you do not own the Mage's Deathknight, I would not run Sindragosa. You could still ping the Frozen Champions with the normal Hero Power, but it's the combo of the free Legendary and free Water Elemental that really elevates her value to the next level. Although if you don't down Frost Lich Jaina, then that is the Legendary you should really be crafting.
Meteor is an invaluable clearing spell. I broke down and crafted them right after KFT released; if you want to play spell-based Mage decks, they're certainly worth it.
Gluttonous Ooze isn't necessary; it just happens to be the best Ooze. They're not a priority craft if you can't spare the dust, because the Basic 2-mana version can still get the job done.
If you're really set on playing Big Spell Mage, then you would naturally want Dragoncaller Alanna; that's the ultimate payoff, right? Sindragosa can't take her place in such a deck.
If you can only afford one Legendary between Alanna and Baron Geddon, the Baron is the better option. He works great in Elemental decks - especially with the DK - and he can still function outside of the Mage as you alluded to. His value might be on the decline depending on how hard the Paladin is hit by the Call to Arms nerf, but he's still a Classic card that can remain useful throughout the years.
Behold, foolish interlopers! I am commanding this mortal to spread the will of the Scourge throughout the interwebs, encouraging you to seek out me, Archlich Kel'Thuzad! Now coming to you as the tenth class of Hearthstone!
I am a finalist in this Class Creation Competition, so if you could give it a look I would be greatly appreciative <3

elemental decks are too slow in this meta but still good, odd mage well youre getting rid of two core mage cards, frost bolt and fireball, im bias towards control mage cause its just more fun imo
It's not the greatest thing ever, but it serves me well and it's fairly cheap. There's also a little mini-guide explaining my thought-process and general play.

I have the DK.
Miya tough because I have enough to craft 3 epics and a legendary. I’m able to craft 3 epics and a legendary.
Im leaning toward 1 Doomsayer, 2 meteors, and Baron. I could make a big spell, elemental, and odd mage from these cards. I’d need a second arcane tyrant to make the list complete, but other than that it be a good set of decks. I love mage but I’m against aggro mage since it’s not fun to play

I'm with ya there. That seems like a fine combination, given what dust you have available.

I think you can get away with just one Meteor. Do you happen to have a Voodoo Doll or two? I think that's a suitable replacement, plus it gives you a way to deal with Tyrantus. Whatever the case, I think the second Doomsayer is more critical.
Baron Geddon is pretty important, too. I wouldn't worry about Dragoncaller Alanna; it's a pretty niche card that's generally going to be "win more".

Any odd mage deck suggestions would be cool too
