OP cards are really fun to play and losing to them doesn't feel as bad as loosing a close game . (At least you know you never stood a chance and don't need to question whether you misplayed ) .
Imo OP cards should be countered with other OP cards . Playing a balanced game it's not fun . It feels like grind .
Anyway I learned enough to know that whiners ALWAYS get their way in this game so my 3 normal and 1 golden copy of UI are ready to give me dust .
The problem is not Jade Idol, or Ultimate Infestation, not even Gadgetzan Auctioneer. The only problem is the Jade Druid archetype. So don't attack good cards that could allow other archetypes (Quest Druid, Medivh Druid) to be somewhat viable because the Meta Deck runs it. Jade Druid was already a good deck in Un'Goro meta, and even back in MSoG meta.
Instead of asking for a nerf like babies always do, better ask for better cards for the other classes. And some of them really do need good new cards.
One of the better posts I read on this forum for sure .
Think about it guys: if UI wold be nerfed would that make your (insert low power class here ) better ? No because you still have bad cards in it . The better solution would be for all classes to get something similar to ultimate .

That's a dangerous precedent to set. If they gave all classes an Ultimate Infestation card, you'd see even less diversity on ladder, and every single expansion would be progressively more disappointing as you realise they'd need to keep on power creeping in order for you to stop playing old decks and use the new batch of cards. It's clearly enormous value even at 10 mana, and Druid did not need help with card draw. Was anyone complaining about Druid's lack of card draw? A problem that didn't need fixing.
An added problem is that with so much card draw druids have now, tech cards become frightfully effective. Basically they will have them in hand during a match. Same goes for the other cards... I'm ok with playing around swipe, playing around double swipe + wrath is ridiculous, but it's so common to see that you have to.
And the resilience of druid is now borderline insane. I've dropped 30+ stats and cleared board 3 turns in a row and not even been close to posing a threat. The only combo decks that matter are the ones with endless damage and aggro better not be minion based.
And to boot the top druid decks are very easy to play, very forgiving and so broken that even with horrible misplays they're still stronger than any other deck against the field.
The meta is simple... it's druid and an odd assortment of counters.
Nerf this card and I will quit this game. It costs 10 mana for a reason. 10 mana cards are supposed to be powerful. You guys are just not used to Blizzard printing properly powerful high-cost cards.
If you survive until turn 10 you are suppose to cast stuff like this. Game needs more of it.
but it's rly rare to see it on turn 10 its usually around 6
bullshit, that is a dream scenario. Druids also can't draw normally. They dont have magic drawing power
At one point Lay on Hands had a possibility of being played in some paladin control decks. It looks ridiculously overmatched by ultimate. I think it would be interesting to hear blizzard do a discussion of card comparison.
I feel like Im on crazy pills, its not innervate moron. Its a combination of op cards and mechanics. the Jade Mechanic which can suffocate other control. That paired with infestation which allows super ramp from mire keeper, wild growth and Jade blossom. Then you just fill your hand and go.
There is a reason that people were not calling for innervate to go away before KFT. But now druid is op with the new cards and people blame innervate. While its really all the ramp + infestation + aggro killer spreading plague.
I honestly do think the card is a little silly, but it doesn't need a huge change.
They should just take the armor off. If they remove the armor aspect of the card, it will do very little to actually protect your face and it takes up the entire turn. This way, burn and agressive strategies will be a little more consistent, as it forces the druid to be less far behind to effectively utilize the cards it draws them.
Another option would be taking off the damage, but druid has almost no removal, so it would be a pretty dramatic and crippling change.
A final idea is to make the 5/5 into 5 1/1s instead. It's hard to say how much worse this would actually make the card, but it seems more thematic and would encourage token synergy rather than just jamming it in almost every druid build. Its also harder to have 5 free spaces on board and any aoe would handle it easily, so I think it would make it less oppressive in most situations.

If those 5 1/1's go unanswered in a token Druid list, it's GG.
The two changes to the card should come to the draw and to the body.
Most people think it should draw 3. No. That's a buff (maybe not to the first but definitely to the oft-unplayable second). Instead, draw should be increased to 7 or 8. This will almost always force a self-mill and all but guarantees the second will never be played.
The other change is that there should be no body, because it almost always forces a positive tempo swing. If the body is answered, the opponent has one less answer or just sacrificed 5 damage from somewhere. To a Jade Druid, that's one more Jade Golem the opponent potentially won't answer. In token/aggro/plague Druid, that's one more body ready for the buffing (which you know they have after drawing 5 cards).
UI's body forces the opponent to answer it, and it puts the opponent in a lose-lose situation almost every time.
Nerfing this won't solve much, says they change it to a 4/4/4/4 card, or even 3/3/3/3...well it's still going to be run in every jade drud deck. Know how you make a top tier jade druid deck? Go to your collection, type 'jade' into the search and include two of everything. Yes, a 1 mana 1/1 seems bad, and it can be tough to use all your mana every turn, but once you have this down you too can be a hearthstone master.
Laziest, noobfriendly horror mechanic, ever. That blizzard never completely went back to the drawing board with jades is just so stupid, it's beyond stupid stupid.
I think the card is fine as is. The issue is that Druid had ultra-refined lists from the previous expansions that didn't see much change, while most other classes got cards that require deck building to be a bit more refined. It'll take a bit more time for people to figure out how to refine the decklists from other classes and compete with Druid.
That being said, if it does end up being changed, I'd like to see it done creatively, like this:
"Draw 5 cards and Gain 5 Armor, then Choose One - Deal 5 damage, or summon a 5/5 Ghoul."
As we've seen with Firelands Portal, bundling direct damage with a good-ish minion is powerful because it serves as a massive tempo swing. Separating those two (except when Fandral is on the field) wouldn't affect the main draw (heh) of playing the card, while encouraging critical thinking on whether the 5 damage should be fast or slow, depending on the situation.
As long I teched Skulking Geist into the deck, I'm feeling pretty good with my highlander priest against this card.
Highlander priest is the ONLY non-fatique deck where Geist can find a spot, and only cuz highlander decks have plenty of room for techs. The card is way too horrible to find a place in any other control deck, not to mention that Jade wins most games w/o even needing infinite idol value.

This card is a way of blizzard repaying for the most disgusting nerf of all times commited against the following cards:
Ancient of Lore and Keeper of the Grove
Its justice imo
if I could downvote you I would, this is now how balance or game design works
Has anyone tried using Nerubian Unraveler against it? Yes, I know it can be countered, but it's something.
I really don't get why people hate OP cards .

I think I got this Idea for a reasonable UI nerf...
8 Mana > Choose one - Deal 5 damage and summon 5/5 Ghoul OR Gain 5 Armor and Draw 5 Cards.
You have to choose whether you're going aggresive or defensive and still can gain the old UI with Fandral Staghelm.
This way it will become a more stable Fireland Portal with 1 mana more, or a much better Shield Block.
ancient of lore was gutted cause it drew 2 cards for the same body but this card is ok for 3 more mana + 5 armor + 3 cards + 5 damage?
srsly blizzard, unnerf AOL and nerf this card this is a really stupid card.

It's quite reasonable for a 10-mana card
Also why is this thread sticky? Did a moderator just lose to Jade Druid? :P
Fuck cubelock
