DAMN, that effect is huge. So assuming you are playing at least 5 different secrets (probably in duplicates for consistency), than you could draw and play up to 15 mana of secrets for 8 mana. That's pretty good value, but do you really want to play that many secrets? Keep in mind you are going to naturally draw some of your secrets before turn 8, so you would have to run a lot to make this consistently pull 4 or 5 secrets.
Maybe you could run it in a Freeze Mage-like deck that aims to stall the board with secrets and then burn your opponent out. Once you thin 5 cards out of your deck with Glacial Mysteries you would be a lot closer to drawing the Archmage Antonidas, Alexstraza or Pyroblast that you need to finish the game.
This hypothetical deck could probably run Ice Block and Ice Barrier (already staples in Freeze Mage), along with the other more defensive secrets Vaporize, Counterspell and Spellbenders (maybe as one-ofs). I don't think you would ever put two Glacial Mysteries in your deck though, diminishing returns, right?
Mysterious Challenger was OP at 6 mana with the same effect with a 6/6 body. However, this is an 8 mana spell. That said, mage secrets are way more impactful than paladin secrets, and thinning your deck is (I would argue) even BETTER in mage than it is in pally because it after two of these it literally makes you 10 turns more likely to draw one of your combo pieces such as Alextrasa or Pyroblast or Fireball. I think this card is good. I'll stand by that.
Paladin secrets cost 1 mana, mage secrets cost 3 and if you get this from primordial glyph it becomes a 6 mana card. I think people are really going to get sick of this card. Plus not every game in constructed is against aggro, against control this card could end up being a nightmare.
Hilariously, the guy who revealed it in the reveal video thought this was the case. I think by the time you're able to play this, you'll already have drawn/played a couple of Secrets, so Kabal Crystal Runner will still be pretty cheap or at zero by the time you play this card anyway.
Seems kinda... meh? Mysterious Challenger was not only cheaper by (2) but also came with a body. And one of the biggest drawbacks of Secret Paladin was that sometimes you just drew all the Secrets before you got to play Challenger. At least Paladin Secrets are cheap so you could abuse them with Secretkeeper and not instantly lose when this happened.
But this? I mean, if we take Challenger into consideration, you need to be running ~6 Secrets to keep the effect consistently powerful. Not sure if a deck playing this can survive a bad draw of three or more 3 cost cards in their opening hand.
Furthermore, another big part of what made Secret Paladin good was the inherent synergy the Secrets created once in play. Is there any comparable synergy with Mage Secrets? The only things that comes to mind are Counterspell + Spellbender sometimes forcing your opponents to waste two spells and Mirror Entity + Potion of Polymorph copying and removing an enemy minion as it comes into play, but now we open a whole other can of worms regarding order of play when Secrets get pulled by this card (since order of play very much matters for that interaction).
Blizzard is really punishing mage for be the tier 1 deck from un'goro. Another crap card. How many secrets will be on your deck by turn 8? One? Maybe two?
8 secrets, default amount of burn spells with pyro (7 cards) and wyrm/aprentice/valet/tarcreeper (8 cards). Glyphs, intellects, Medivh, maybe Alextraza. and 1x Glacial Mysteries 30 cards done :)
But I voted dust lol) This card will be playable in fun decks only, this is dead card in hand for half game and later not the fact you will draw it. And yes, running it as 2x is almost no sense...
Unless some game breaking secrets get released for mage for 8 mana I don't see this being played in ranked. For 5 mana maybe playable but 8 forget it. You need 3 difference secrets to make it worth it. Still with secrets being 3 mana each not worth it. Yes, it thinks your deck but by that late in the game most of your secrets will be played.
i don't even care if it's bad I just want to play this in some jank Secret deck in Wild.

I'm done. Uninstalled
fuck this card
A worse Mysterious Challenger. Although it could end up being a pretty big power play if you're going to Alex next turn.

won't see play... MC is good because of the hard to kill minion that is drop in turn 1 to 5....
couple with the 6/6 body drawing the Noble Sacrifice + Avenge + Repemption trio .... its just insanely powerful...
This will find a spot in Reno Mage deck
