I was hoping for a demon with a non-draw back non-battlecry effect so that it'd work with Voidcaller. At first, even though it requires discard synergies which I'm not a fan of, I was quite happy. Then I noticed it has no demon tag :ᗡ
We'll put some good new cards for warlocks they said... We do not want the discard archetype to be the only warlock archetype they said... Anyway, now that my shock and disgust is slowly wearing off...
No this card just doesn't work. I just don't see it. There's just no way to take advantage of it having Lifesteal. No demon synergy, no taunt, no charge. Basically it will be removed the turn it is played and you get nothing.
I was mocking around. But Bolvar has one more health and its condition is more reliable and doable.
As many have said, Bolvar had to be in your hand to trigger. This one does not. That makes it a lot more doable. Not saying this card is good, but it is way better than Bolvar.
Why are developers so stupid? What will it take them to understand that discard and control don't go along each other? Why the f they keep printing this stupid mechanic cards? Just another dead legendary for warlock, thank you blizz, idiots.
You probably need to be playing something that discards this and uses Cruel Dinomancer to put it on the board. Multiple times. Random discards, random summons, for a body that needs you to discard half your deck and not be hard-removed to gain any real benefit. They've got some work to do to make this playable. Disappointing they couldn't go in another direction, especially since there still hasn't been a playable Warlock legendary since Mal'Ganis.
Wait, Holy..ehr Unholy shhizzles!! it's not a battlecry.... it means it's like a Mini C'thun, it grows (wherever it is) as long as you keep discarding cards...so it can get a rela amount of value
I don't know what more cards they will show to support Discardlock, so, i could change my opnion, but by looking what we have right now, this looks like a Blubber Baron that is fueled with discard mechanism instead, and so, it's way too slow. but at least, has lifesteal to help a bit.
and if you try to get more discard value while she is in your hand, you could end up discarding her. so, if we do not see a new card that helps to choose which card to discard, Discolock might still be a unstable meme deck to use.
i do know that this card can get buff outside of your hand, which is an advantage. But we have way less Discard mechanism cards right now. i think some people know how slow it is to complete a quest like Lakkari Sacrifice, that's because we need better discard cards. While blubber baron needs battlecry cards, which we have plenty of them. Because the discard thing still not got support enought, that's why i said this warlock legendary will be slow anyway, if they don't show other cards to help the archtype, even tho she gets buff even outside of your hand.
Well first of all we need to know how much support discard is getting. Then I would like to know what would the interaction with Shadowflame (which is a 9 mana combo, but assuming discard can be viable it could be a good lategame life refuel). However, to make discard viable some card generation has to be included in the game, in particular cards that generate more than one card, such as Igneous Elemental or Cabalist's Tome, or that generate very low impact cards that you can afford to throw away (like Dark Peddler used to do in Standard).
However, evaluating on the basis of the current card pool I have to say this card seems really bad. Considering they are pushing for a more control-oriented Warlock, since Zoo's main problem isn't healing, and thus making cards like Silverware Golem really bad (don't think many people wanna run 3/3s that do nothing in control), the only card that wants to be discarded in Control Warlock right now is Clutchmother Zavas, whose presence can be justified in the list considering that it can be discarded an infinite number of time and serve as a late game closer later on (and lets not forget Shadowflame).
I will be very annoyed at Blizzard if they don't push some reasonable cards for Control Discard Warlock, because to give the currently worst class such a bad card is not cool. It would also be cool if the Discard mechanic was reworked a bit. E.g. change it so that the lowest cost card in your hand is discarded or make cards that specifically mention in their text what you will discard (e.g. Discard a spell, Discard the lowest/highest cost minion etc.).

Well let's hope that they will release some good cards from now on because this expansion really looks trash
Cruel Dinomancer buff?

Gorge you hatred, embrace your rage.
another garbage class card for warlock. what a surprise.
Is it me, or Mistress of Pain is already better?
Little better than last warlock legendary but still bad.
they just need to add a card that does(discover a card that u discarded and add it to your hand)
It reminds me Bolvar Fordragon
I Don't see this working unless warlock gets more consistent discard cards
