So guys: what kind of single player content we should expect for TBP? I reckon we will get something different from the previous expansion: no more "build your deck along the run" stuff but something more like KFT, with some new twist...
Ok, i heard your points and you all are right: blood sacrifice even as discard-oriented card is very poor.
Following, there is another version of it. The point i considered in creating this card:
- it doesn't have to be OP, just fair. - It must somehow make sense with name/art (blood sacrifice=take a little damage to get something good off) - It must fit in a discolock, better if an Odd one (because quest) - best if it's situational, and better if the sinegy is strong
These are the card I created to help sustain a discolock archetype, and made it at least viable. Let me know if you like it, and feel free to suggest any changes you feel.
Yesterday I played with combos and possible effect, regarding this card, and I came out with a rather satisfying solution about. Here the main topic i worked on:
- I changed the mana cost down to 5, to fit the DK in a Odd warlock. That's quite ok with other discard cards, and kinda left some space for this archetype. And also, i got the flexibility to play this Dk earlier.
- The AOE effect is now much less reliable and OP, but consistant with the discard mechanic. It's a big downside, but you can still find fun way to make it work smoothly.
- There is an ongoing-through-game effect, witch i think is good enough to provide a fun impact.
This way i feel this is a card you can work around, not too op, that consider strategic thinking and careful discard consideration.
I did actually considered your suggestion, and later try to chisel a little the card, just to make it viable. I like a lot LanLokan idea to make AoE damage referring to the number of discarded card, will try something alike for sure. Regarding GrillaGaming YT:
This DK hero would be very good in Discard Lock and should be in the game without a shadow of a doubt. Yes I would change the damage to 3 but other than that, this card seems promising. Have you attempted to make other Discard Lock cards, OP?
I did, but after I put them down on paper, they immediately felt unbalanced, or worst -unfunny to play with.
I will try to think some more interaction, and suggest some card for discolock though. It is a great mechanic, and I felt so bad Blizz never give it a proper way to shine in competitive decks (without lose too much value).
Honestly, my idea wasto get this not so OP, but plausible.
I think HP and Battlecry would sinergize well with the discard mechanic for a Quest-discolock, but I understand 4 damage is a HUGE swing, even if the "discard your hand" toll is something, and the damage is also for your hero (so you have just 1 armor from this DK actually)
What do you think about Lifesteal. Battlecry: deal 3 damage to all other character. Discard your hand and replace it with random demons.
Hey guys, don't know if anyone noticed. Blizzard actually compensated the late-start mess from march 26th celebration (in CEST time started from 01.00 and not 00.00 as stated before).
If you lost the free pack from the completed quest, you will find a K&C pack in the gift section of the client.

Played in big recruit warrior, actually crafted for it.
It's a good combination of rng and strategical planning, so it's not an OP card and it's fun to play with.
I'm satisfied!

Ooooh I did miss that! Thanks mate!

I was wondering: will Whizbang the Wonderful changes during time? Or we just get the recipes from TBP out of it?
Has anyone info about it from official sources?

Too weak? Can you be more specific in what you would change to balance it into a not-op alternative?

Hi everyone! I finally found some time to create a few viable discolock oriented cards (previous thread: https://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-general/fan-creations/218597-first-try-let-me-know )
These are the card I created to help sustain a discolock archetype, and made it at least viable.

Hey guys!
I've tried some new card since the Witchwood release, and today I've come up with this deck.

What do you think?

Soooooo...would Shudderwock be nerfed? Worth crafting it right now?
