This change only makes me sad because of the lore impact Ragnaros the Firelord has had on the game, inspiring both Ragnaros, Lightlord and Majordomo Executus. I hope they keep playing with the concept of the card in future expansions. That being said, from a gameplay standpoint I don't mind this rotation at all since it should open up deckbuilding choices for alternative late-game cards.
I'm okay with this ONLY IF they make good 8 drops in all future expansions and at least some adventures. Good CLASS 8 drops please.
But thats the thing. If they bothered making good eight drops then they wouldn't need to ship Rag to wild in the first place. I don't understand their insistence in making super overpowered 1 and 2 drops while making no great high end cards. The fact that they felt the need to send Ragnaros to wild does not make me very optimistic for the 8 drops coming out this year.
Last year everyone was complaining about power creep, so they created standard rotation. Now that Rag is rotating, the complaint is "Don't rotate Rag, just power creep the 8 slot" ??
Ah... Blizzard, porque você fez isso com a gente? Ele era o símbolo do poder no Hearthstone, a carta imutável, poderosa e com RNG, agora tudo foi por água abaixo...

How is simply making playable cards in the 8 slot power creep? People get power creep mixed up with power different. A 7 mana ragnaros or a ragnaros that shot a 9 damage blast would be power creep, decent 8 drops would not be. Look at whats in the 8 slot, most of it is garbage.
So we're down to maybe 5 playable big drops in the game now? Granted, Rag wasn't great because of the abundance of shamans around, but pretty much only allows jade decks to get stronger and punish every other control player.
I play a lot of wild cause standard is pretty garbage right now, but this is still dumb as fuck..
I have always hated Ragnaros, not because of it's power or design, but mostly because of the asymmetry. Both players playing the same card should not yield very different outcomes in a match, but Ragnaros, next to Yogg Saron was the epitomy of such cases. The fact that it was undoubtedly the best 8 mana neutral drop for a while now and as such a must include in certain decks, will make it's rotation at the very least result in a lot less bitterness for some players.
As a card I don't really have a problem with him though, love it, hate it... for this one I don't particulary care actually.
Rag was definitely too powerful if the RNG went your way. Compared to other 8 drops it basically had charge (better than charge, it didn't take damage while being able to attack).
Since you get the full dust cost refunded with the upcoming rotation, is it a good idea to craft a golden Ragnaros on top of the regular one I already own to get some free dust? Also will I be able to disenchant the golden Ragnaros for the 1600 dust on top of that? Giving myself a total of 4800 dust from both the full refund and the disenchant refund itself?
This timw team 5 made a lot of good choices. the cards that move to wild only are all way to problematic. However for the class cards i would have liked a replacement. Now valera and Jaina have a smaler card pool for standard and i realy dont like that.
A while ago, I looked up some older hearthstone highlights videos. I was surprised at just how many times the old druid combo showed up.
To this day, I'm still seeing "sick Rag hits", "sick Sylvanas steals", and "sick Rag hits into Sylvanas steals/sick Sylvanas hits into Rag steals" in these videos.
Not to mention, everyone in the legendaries thread who says "I have no legendaries, where should I start?" gets mostly the same answer, "Sylvanas or Ragnaros".
They've had their fun for quite a while now, but a breath of fresh air sounds nice to me.
I can see Blizzard's point. Remove the best 8 drop from standard to make other sub par legendaries more playable, I get it. But really... cmon... it's Ragnaros the Firelord... There better be some bomb 7-8 drops coming up.
We already saw one 7 mana bomb drop...

All cards are balanced, but some cards are more balanced than others.
Im ok with it, as long as it introduces Variety and deck-building, a part of the game that is extremely under utilized and explored because of so many net deckers. Along with the new Rank changes and Cancer deck nerfs, Ladder should be much more interesting than, buccaneer, pathes, fiery war axe/jade claws/rogue hero power ect.

Why am I sticky?
My Golden Deathwing's dust returns to me!
BTW I will complete the Jade set when it comes to me.

I rly want to quit this game so bad!
Why ban Rag? RLY? WHY? Most of the top tier decks don't even use it anymore.
They should rotate cancer cards like Leeroy Jenkins (even) or others...

I'll be sad to see Raggy move out of standard but I can agree that he's way to powerful for 8 mana, I mean we all remember Doctor 7

So I am going to get dust just because I own the card. Is that correct? Can someone help me with this? Or do I have to DE to get dust?
