I honestly thought I'd see Fool's Bane more across the board and I thought Control Warrior would be back in Tier 1. I was wrong. Warrior fell by the wayside, but I think the only reason is that they didn't get a lot of fun cards/new themes that integrated into their existing decks. Fool's Bane really requires Violet Illusionist in order to be viable thus making it a 2 card combo.
I also thought Medivh, the Guardian would be in literally every deck that wasn't a weapon user already. I was wrong, he's just too slow and you need mid-range spells to get the most value out of his staff.
Lastly I thought Arcane Anomaly would be in a ton of decks including priest. Again, was wrong there.
Warrior fell away? im pretty sure Warrior is the 2nd/3rd more popular Class on ladder right now.
It's currently third, but its play-rate has nearly dropped by half, post-Karazhan. Today's VS report listed it at less than 15% - prior to Kara, it was well over 25%.
FWIW - Karazhan was my best result, as far as predictions go. I though Menagerie Warden would be a less consistent Faceless Summoner - it seems safe to say I was right. I thought Barnes would do better in Standard - I mostly play Wild, and the card shines with all the powerful deathrattles in the format. It seems to whiff a lot in Standard - a 3/4 that consistently summons a 1/1 probably isn't good enough to see much play.
Yogg-Saron, Hope's End - I never expected this card to be competitive. Turns out it's preeeetty good. Sometimes.
Eternal Sentinel, Master of Evolution, and Evolve - Thought these cards would see play in almost every Shaman deck. Turn out Shaman's other cards are too busted to even run these really good cards.
Ironforge Portal - Thought it'd be useless, but it is actually played in a lot of standard control warriors.
Dart Trap I thought it would find a place in face hunter, but it turns out it's way too easy to play around once you figure it out.
Dreadscaleand Princess Huhuran - I thought both of these would be included in most hunter lists. Turns out Dreadscale isn't that great and princess is a bit situational.
Rhonin and N'Zoth, the Corruptor - I didn't think that Rhonin was that great when he first came out, but once N'Zoth was announced I was sure that N'Zoth Mage would become a thing. Have 6 Arcane Missiles all discounted by Thaurissan and then blast away with Archmage. Never took off. Sounded awesome though :(
Thunder Bluff Valiant - Thought it would be too slow and situational to ever see play.
I thought Pit Snake would be a much better tempo tool for Rogue than it was (I thought it would be okay, turns out it was total garbage). Stupid stats being in the wrong order.
As a dedicated Shaman player I thought that Spirit Claws was going to suck. Paladin already had a 1/4 weapon that nobody runs, and the spell damage condition was too unreliable. Now i can't imagine a deck without 2 copies. Turns out a 1/3 weapon in Shaman is good enough and a 3/3 for 1 is bonkers.
I also thought that primal infusion and evolve would be nerf worthy broken. Turns out they force you to over extend into board clears so you win or run out of cards. Powerful, but too risky for competitive play. They make a few lists, but certainly not OP.
from GvG i was wrong about which would be the best mech deck i thought rogue was better... as for what i was right- darkbomb and implosion being very good cards. every "pro" streamer called them bad....
BrM thought dragons will dominate and patron as a trash card
TGT i thought varian will be the new dr boom he even has the same stance.....
about old gods i was right about many cards and very wrong about others. first of all i know they introduced standard but i didnt expect that many cards to be playable
druid- i thought fandral is trash
hunter- i thought deathrattle hunter with huhuran will be tier 1
mage- nothing here i knew cabalist tome would be one of the strongest mage cards ever
paladin- i knew steward is trash tier when everyone was hyping i thought selfless hero would be way better than it proved..... i thought forbidden healing is broken as fuck and i still believe it
priest- nothing here
rogue- nothing here
shaman- i overestimated lots of cards here.....but most of them all eternal sentinel....i thought it was a lava shock with a body and a 3/2 body for two..... guess shaman is so broken right now that he doesnt even need to remove the overload.
warlock- i thought villager and councilman are garbage
warrior- nothing here
neutral- nothing really i knew that all 3 old gods were pretty powerful except ysaarj even though many were saying yogg will pyroblast my face 10 times and bullshit like that i knew he would be the boss card of spell decks. you can find my post on yoggs thread. i was expecting to be honest nzoth to be the strongest i knew many deathrattles left the game but his effect seemed just too strong for me.

I returned to this game much like how a recovering alcoholic can relapse.
Steward of Darkshire, Rallying Blade, Selfless Hero - Thought these cards would be super busted and spawn many good aggro paladins. Hasn't really done that so far.
Anyfin Can Happen - Thought it would be useless.
Holy Champion - Thought she would be Priest's version of Frothing Berserker.
Ironforge Portal - Thought it'd be useless, but it is actually played in a lot of standard control warriors.
Dart Trap I thought it would find a place in face hunter, but it turns out it's way too easy to play around once you figure it out.

I've mostly been wrong about Karazhan cards (only experienced Karazhan and WoG spoilers)
- Maelstrom Portal Didn't think it would see any play
-Barnes Thought he would see a lot more play
- Babbling Books Didn't think it was good. And didn't see it fitting into Tempo Mage
- Cabalist's Tome Thought it had potential in slower decks but didn't think that Tempo Mage would ever touch this card
I thought Pit Snake would be a much better tempo tool for Rogue than it was (I thought it would be okay, turns out it was total garbage). Stupid stats being in the wrong order.
I thought Dr.Boom was good... it turns out that he was OP and included in every deck.
I thought that Barnes was so bad... it turns out that Barnes is actually good. I underestimated him.
I hated Yogg when I first saw it aha said I would never craft it and well I did.... It does win me a lot of games now.
