Honestly I think Warlock is close to having the tools it needs for a discard deck. We just need a card (maybe one of the 5 rumored portals) that shuffles all discarded cards back into your deck.
I mean, under the right conditions you get Malchezaar's Imp, Succubus, and Silverware Golem and a card draw before your opponent plays turn 2. That's just crazy. Not that this is the only way a discard deck might be viable, but if you start that way, your opponent is in a pretty ridiculous hole.
Otherwise, Succubus and Doomguard usually get held til your hand is empty anyway. Now you can whittle it down to this blue little gem and play those one turn earlier with a bonus. Pretty sweet if you ask me.
The only way I could POSSIBLY see discard synergy working is through the following:
1. (the obvious one) Better discard synergy, and I mean a TON better. There's only 30 cards to a Hearthstone deck and every viable deck has been refined down to a science, so discarding cards typically means you risking discarding a win condition (I can't be the only one who loses a game by randomly discarding Reno, right?) or a card to help your survivability.
2. Creating cards that allowed you to CHOOSE the card you discard, rather than randomly discarding cards...
Well, discard warlock don't work before because don't have enough tools, with new cards maybe.
It will be very strong summon a 5/7 charge minion for 5 manas, deal 4 damage and summon a 3/3, the tempo gain don't have nothing in actual meta to compare.
And you're good to go I think. I would add Prince Malchezaar just in case I draw cards in the wrong order and have to discard half my deck to stay alive. And if I draw one of the 5 random legs instead of my actual cards this is free fuel to discard. And I like flavor and Malchezaar fits perfectly in this deck.
Tiny knight of evil is just a terrible card even if the discard archetype actually works.
I played discard a lot in the past and life tap + discard brings you to fatigue way faster than you would imagine.
Also add Deathwing for pure fun, 10 mana, 12/12 minion, summon two 3/3 minions and deal 4 damage to a random character twice. This is Dr boom on steroids :D
Fist of jaraxxus is too RNG for my likings, defender of argus is really good in zoo specially since the deck lacks taunts..
malchazar makes this deck way worse.. this deck is aggro not control or midrange..
Discard warlock if it's a thing it's an aggro deck.. that's how you deal with fatigue.. deathwing screws with your discards and doesn't help you with anything since you want to finish games fast with this type of deck.
I call it now: There will be a card in the upcoming expansion / maybe even Karazhan which revives all of your discarded minions.
If this happens, Discolock will be Tier 1.
Not sure if the released cards are enough to push this archetype to a good level though.
All Warlock cards have been revealed with this. And Warlock is only class with discard mechanic. Why would they release a neutral with such effekt? Doesnt make sense imo.
thought people would use common sense. that specific card would be a warlock spell of course.
I would not sleep on this archetype. There are some conceivable openings that are absolutely ridiculous with the couple of additions from Kara. It feels like a hyper-aggressive face discard deck built around a zoo shell could really overwhelm other decks if it hits correctly. Obviously, a future card that lets you choose which one to discard would guarantee that this works. Even a card that lets you shuffle a one or more cards back into your deck to draw new ones might work. Just need some mechanism to make sure you're not holding 2x doomguard / 2x PO or something awful like that.
If only they had worded it, 'if you would discard a card and this is in your hand, put this into play instead'.
Let see...
You want a 3/3 and 4 damage for 1 mana? Really?
If the card text was this all matches will be warlock vs warlock.
It's not that much better than a 3/2 for 1 mana. Better, but, also requires 2 cards and synergy. But, yeah, maybe make it a 2/2 instead so it's not so oppressive. The main idea is not the power but having your discard not be random.

Does anybody know if discarded deathrattle cards come back with N'Zoth?
discard warlock= casino, discard key card=gg .

If we get more cards like this discard warlock may be actually good.
RIP yogg-saron good things don't last forever :(
Discard Lock will feel so unfair when it works. And so impotent when it doesn't.
I think on average it'll be less good than zoo. So, I guess we get an inferior new archetype. Maybe good in wild someday if they keep supporting it.

dark bargain + 2 of these in hand is pretty gross, 6 mana 6/6 worth of stats split over 2 bodies and destroy 2 random minions.
I think it might be enough. As others said, discardlock is tricky because of RNG. We'll see though.
Meh
Just fill your deck with one drops, that is creative deck design, right?

You laugh now, but in 27 years discard warlock will have so much support it will be the most OP thing on the planet.
I returned to this game much like how a recovering alcoholic can relapse.
