The comments I'm seeing are ridiculous. Did all of you start playing after open beta? Do none of you remember Sylvanas?
This card is a mistake.
To judge a card before it's played is nothing more than Theorycrafting. We have no idea how this will work in practice. Sylvanas made summoning minions risky and forced you to have a 5 damage spell/charge out. This just stops spells for a turn.

While Blizzard is trying to mediate one end of the problems with the meta, you are sitting here being bitter about things that they know they still need to work on. Just let them do their balancing and stop sulking.
- The new leaked Maexxna card will destroy every big taunt that control decks put to defend themselves (not comfirmed officially)
- Nerubian Egg buffed does damage to another creature and summons a 4/4
- Loatheb prevents the opponent from using AoE
- Dancing Swords is an evident aggro minion
I'm hoping that the remaining cards are anti-aggro... If not, well, goodbye awesome long played Control matches and welcome brainless-trade-matches-I-can-play-watching-the-tv-or-reading
I feel like if Loatheb had a smaller body, like 5/4 or 4/4, the outrage/euphoria - depending on your stance on things like Freeze Mage/Miracle Rogue/the works - would have been smaller and the card itself would still be reasonable why bringing a powerful effect.
If it becomes popular however I expect to see Brewmasters everywhere because the bouncing potential is insane. That can be anywhere from one to even five turns of complete spell shutdown. Loatheb himself is unstoppable, like a Charge minion: once he's out the damage is done... and then you can return him back for more pain. Hell, it might even make Kidnapper see marginally more play!(though that's probably doubtful)
All in all, oh boy, that's one strong card.
to be honest, the main problem people have with the new card is the fact that this 5 mana card has a good effect on top of its on-curve body. IMO it should just be standardized with the likes of harrison where the body reflects an attempt to balance our the goodness and drawback. aka 5/4 body or even a 4/5 body would suffice.

Also Loatheb is 1 out of 30 cards: when you don't draw it, you have a problem. Loatheb is strong in aggro-decks, but if in the round before the board was cleared, you only get a stranglethorn tiger out of him.

It's not that easy. It demands a lot of reasoning. Try watching Trump videos playing Otter Pops and you'll see. Also it's the opposite of boring, because you are always at risky low health and also you must use mind games sometimes for surviving even another turn. It really pumps adrenaline, I can guarantee.
This card isn't player card, it's boss card. It's overpowered because AI is bad. Loatheb is Naxxramas boss from WoW, try to google next time.
No, you are misunderstanding. That card has the typical symbol of expert cards, accessible from players who unlock it. It doesn't have sense that they announce a card used by a boss in the adventure before launching the adventure, spoilering part of the difficulties of the gameplay.
Stop whining. Of course we will see this card played a lot in different of kinds of decks - mostly in aggro probably. IF Curse of Naxxramas won't bring more these "awesome" cards (which I doubt) meta will change to more aggro based. What happens after meta has changed? Because Loatheb doesn't counter zoo (and zoo will rise if we count on these cards which have been showed) it won't be anymore so strong card and won't be played anymore so much which gives a new possibility for control decks. This will probably lead to a circle where meta changes pretty fast.[...]
so first its retards vs loatheb zoo until the last retard plays loatheb zoo then the first players start to meta their loatheb zoo against loatheb zoo until the last tard does this then some start to play decks, that crush loatheb-less anti-loatheb zoo, but they are bad against loatheb zoo so people will start to bring it again. that sounds like the definition of a degenerate meta

There are 15 other cards one the way. There could easily be (I would say there probably is) a similar mechanic to counter zoo coming in that set.
Time for more board presence.

i'm guessing this card can not be crafted only earned by completing naxx quests,am i right?
