I hope this expansion has more original cards than 'corrupted cards'. I think this card may be good (in Taunt Warrior?) but I don't like the idea of reused card ideas.
I don't get people complaining about the cards being "rehashed" when the mana cost, stat line and effect are all completely different. It just so happens that the name has partially the same words and the artwork resembles the old card. If this card had been a 7 mana 6/6 called "Old God's Servant" that summoned a 2/2 "Follower" with taunt when damaged, nobody would be complaining about a "lack of originality". Come on guys, stop focusing on the name and the artwork - the two least important aspects of a card.
It's actually a very decent card. Some classes generate more value from him than others (primarily priest, maybe warrior), but overall it's not bad. Certainly no auto-include, but we don't want that again, do we?
Not sure if it's good enough without playtesting, but in most circumstances he will generate at least 2 Gnolls or draw a hard removal. The good thing about him is, even if you your opponent has 2 minions on the board with 3+ Attack he can't kill him, since the first will make a Gnoll spawn, and thus he has to get through that first.
Love it. Can't think of a deck right now I would play it with and it's kind of a weaker Trogg which was also a cool card. But it's going to get easier to have some minions spawn through this I assume.
What are you waiting about of this expansion? A 7/7 7mana with 2 minions with exploud ability to cause 1-4 random damage? The expansion among with the new format its a way to balance de game... Its good to not see overpowered card yet.
I am enjoying how people are calling this garbage yet we play Imp Gang Boss in every warlock match. Test it out before we call it complete trash. Hogger sucked because he died to AoE as a 4/4; his body sucked.
Also think about how strong this is in arena!
Wait, you're comparing a 3 mana minion that works wonders against aggro decks in the early game against a 7 (!!!!!!!) mana minion with a similar effect?
This card might be very good, yes, but seriously - don't draw such conclusions by comparing an effect that's great in early game to this one that's only relevant in late game. This card can be good for entirely different reasons.
Well that's funny, Piloted Sky Golem would have been eveywhere imo if it didn't die to Piloted Shredder, and sneeds well it dies to Dr boom and boombots can handle the deathrattle. I remember in the early days of GvG people made threads about how good Golem is and how surprinsigly disappointing Shredder is.
I would rather compare a card with a similar effect before I call a card straight trash. We don't know how cards will effect the meta just by face value. And my argument is not that this card will be great; I am on the same stance that we shouldn't jump to conclusions. Most people thought cards like Ethereal Conjurer and were going to suck yet some people have added it into tempo mage and it dominates arena. We also have Deathlord who everyone thought was going to be OP and then he was an instant disappointment until just recently with stall decks. Just don't instantly cut the card as trash before trying it, maybe it will surprise us, or maybe there are new cards in the expansion that will work with this is some way.
It terms of the average value you are likely to generate with this card, I'd compare it to a 7 mana Savannah Highmane. Powerful, but the extra mana cost is probably going to deter people from including it in a deck except for the most late game oriented ones.
If this were a 6 mana card, it could be arguably better than Savannah Highmane. Even one 2/2 with taunt could be more impactful than two 2/2. And a lot of the time you'll get 2/2 taunts as it's not always easy to kill a 6 health minion with one card. And both are equally susceptible to silence.
But since it is 7 mana, just seems like a weaker SH, but a weaker version of an insane card merits some attention.
The card is being a little undervalued I think. Unlike trogzor, you dont need the board to make this card work. If hogger isnt 1 shot, then you get amazing value, if it is one shot, you essentially have a death rattle that summons a frostwolf grunt. I actually really like this card.
The problem with this card, and the Giant Sandworm is they have no immediate impact on the game. There are very few 7+ drops that are regularly played: Boom, Geddon, Antonidas, Ancient of War/Lore, Tirion, Rag, Grom, Ysera, Malygos, Mal'ganis, Jaraxxus, Alex, and Deathwing. All of those have major impacts on the game or can be used in combos right away except Ysera which has been dropped from many decks because it's too slow. Yes, BGH is part of the reason others aren't seen much, but that shouldn't effect cards like Troggzor from seeing play. Agro and combo decks will wreck you if they have a board and you just drop this on turn 7 with nothing else.
The only reason I can see people running this in Standard is because of a lack of a better legendary, and it sucks that we'd have to play an evidently weak card because we just have no other alternatives.
That's exactly the point of standard. The overall power level of cards will be lower going forward compared to Naxx and GvG.
THIS! READ AND ACCEPT THIS GUYS!!! STOP WISHING FOR MORE POWER CREEP. JESUS CHRIST
Mmmh, good cards or sucky cards? What a terrible choice huh.

When you dump something down the toilet it disappears while still existing in the sewers. Welcome to Wild mode, "it's not like they took our cards away".
For the people who keep saying that this isn't original or that they are just taking something that they've done already and tweaked it must have missed the announcement.
These cards are supposed to be like that. They are meant to be "corrupted" versions of their previous cards. Like if their bizzaro and mirror universe doppelgangers had a baby. This is in keeping with the theme of the expansion, so expect more of this.

We have like 127 more cards to go and people are going crazy. Same thing happened with the TGT lol
But TGT sucked. If anything it validates the impression.

Problem with you guys who don't like any of your new cards (so far) is that you will not be satisfied ever. You have complained for nerfs and OP cards for some time and now when they have done something about it, when they have nullified the power level, you are not satisfied still.
I like the idea of the card, if I get him from packs I will use him for sure, or at least die trying.
The good thing about this card is that unless you remove it using spells, you'll have to hit him with a 6/6 or you'll have to deal with a 2/2 taunt; and even though you cast spells on it, if it's a fireball or something like that you'll still have a 2/2 on board.
Conclusion:
Played on a turn 7 you'll force you opponent to cast a spell to remove it, so he'd play smaller minions on his 7th/8th turn, which will be great if you currently control the board. Otherwise it's the perfect card for trading 1/x or 2/x minions. It's not that horrible, it will be amazing specially in arena.

This is actually really good i'm not sure why people are complaining.

I really like this. It's extremely difficult to clear for lots of small minions and just downright annoying against big ones.

new mediocre, attempt of grim patron warrior?
This expansion looking to be like TGT levels of power.

i love how people say no more this or no more that like it's not even going to exist anymore. is nobody going to play wild? smh
