I am sure about one thing ,this is not the worst meta .About the rng make this meta beeing most balanced and tier 1 is around 50% winrate which is good.I play most time gala. secret rogue and i reach legend otherwise is bad to reach legend to fast and easy.
There are few things to note here :-there are more decks in any class like hunter face or highlander etc ,so you dont know exactly what is your opponent deck,Remember witchwood where only odd and even decks was in meta.
-you face almost any class in game
-always who had better draw and oppening hand no matter what expension was,he had higher chance to win
It's probably one of the best TBH. You can viably play ALMOST any class (sorry Shaman) ... and there are meme-y alternatives that you can still get plenty of wins with. And nothing feels unbeatable.
The replies seem to be from people that don't play competitively this game.
This meta is one of the worst (and I play since the Open Beta) because all the top-tier decks are not consistent, but, they are very strong if well-drawn.
Spell druid needs the ramp
Rogue needs to put up a big Edwin/Questing
DH needs to start very fast AND to draw skull when out of resources
Highlander Hunter, as an highlander, has to draw very in curve
Quest lock has to draw the plot twist
Mage can't beat aggro without the perfect start
Warrior can steal many matches with inner rage + rampage on an early minion.
This meta, played at high levels, is probably the worst ever.
Metas with jades, undertaker, what you want had a great deck that was consistent. This meta is based on coinflips and highrolls.
Period.
Well, I take a coinflip and highroll meta instead a meta where one class consistent being Tier 0 and become 80% of the ladder any day, like druid in KFT release or midrange shaman...
This is a bad time though to be fair. The expansion following the sets switching to wild is the period where the least amount of cards are available and it's getting right to the end of this expansion period, so it's going to feel a bit of a drag at this stage, for some people.
Saying that, there are viable decks for almost every class, with some having more than one. It does need an injection of new cards to freshen things up and fortunately we're not far from that.
One of the best metas. Demon hunters are surpassing but other than there are good fun decks in almost every class. Also worst metas were gadgetzan and kobold for me.

Shaman is also viable. Galakrond Shaman right now increases in win rate everyday and Control Shaman has an alright win rate, too.
I still remember Pirate warrior and the midrange shaman days. I get ptsd when thinking about it. This meta is incredibly balanced compared to those.
This. When I think of the worst metas, these are the two that immediately come to mind. These were the days when control was not really an option unless you got an insane draw. (I was always irked by the Shaman deck being referred to as "midrange when it was so hyper aggressive)
I think there have been worse metas, but a combination of a mediocre meta with a game which feels old and creeky and maybe dull isn't really helping. I feel like previous bad metas were still more interesting, because the game wasn't quite as stale.
Like, on a really hot day, even bad soda and bad beer is really good, if it's cold enough.
We've had hotter days, and worse beverages, but they aren't even cold right now, so it *feels* pretty bad.
Yes, this meta is one of the worst in the 5 years I have played this game. Reached legend once and always reached rank 2-5 and now D3- D5 every season. stopped playing this month... waiting for the new expansion..

This is exactly it. It's not that the meta is stale (it is), it's that the game itself is stale. I personally don't think they're quite trying hard enough to keep the game up to date with the community. There are so many bugs that haven't been fixed yet, even though they said they would. The thing is, some of these bugs have been around for a long long time. And constantly stating that they'll be fixed "in the next major patch" isn't good enough. Certain bugs need to be acted upon immediately. These problems in conjunction with the meta being stale right now... mmm... the game isn't in a good place right now. *Personal opinion*
I didn't even bother making it out of Silver this month just because I had a bad stretch of RNG losses which made me disinterested. Free time is finite and with games like TLOU2 out I'd rather not play a game I'm not having fun with just so I can get an extra card pack to disenchant for 40 dust. I've also just grown tired of anything involving Galakrond which (right now) seems to be limited to Priest and Rogue.
I'll get my card fix from a Griftlands or Slay the Spire run.
In Arena, it's up there with some of the bad ones. In constructed, it's actually a pretty good meta. I don't like that Mage is so RNG driven and Druid is so dependent on good draws, but otherwise it's okay. Especially near the end of an expansion, people always think the meta is the worst ever, regardless. They have very short memories.

LOL absolutely balanced meta RN.
After patron warrior was nerfed you would literally only play against CW and they had 0 counters, that was the trashies meta of all time, fuck CW.
Kharazan gave us midrange shaman that again had 0 counters, but at least the matches weren't 86 years long.
The 1st step towards a better game is firing Mike Donais! We had enough of his "skillful" balances!
#FireMikeDonais

Every Meta is the worst Meta i‘ve ever seen since 2013.
But tbh, every meta without Priest having a Tier1 Deck is a good meta.
its RNG meta because of spell mage and gala priest, they can either get everything, or get nothing.
other than that.. its not the worst meta.
Shaman is also viable. Galakrond Shaman right now increases in win rate everyday and Control Shaman has an alright win rate, too.

Play Wild, less frustrating, more fun but a bit harder. (and less Demon Hunters)

Same thoughts. Especially when u just got rid of those bs year of raven expacs, this is the best meta ever
Almost as bad as Mean Streets of Gadgetzan.
Extremely polarized meta.
Hyper aggro DH
Hyper control Reno decks running rampant again.

Is this the worse meta you’ve seen? Yes.
