I've been playing Hearthstone since before MSG came out, and I remember playing versus a ton of Pirate Warriors, but I also remember everyone else playing control or midrange style decks to counter pirate warrior.
But in the Witchwood meta, all I ever see on ladder is some variation on an aggro deck, with Paladin being the top cancer class of the expansion... not to mention all these unfair Spiteful decks!
If you were to change anything, what would you change to maybe change this cancerous meta we have right now!
Class use has never been as balanced. Decks have never been quite as interesting. This meta is extremely fun! What would I change? Shudderwock's animation, that's it.

This is true then, true now, and I guess true in all of HS history.
But I remember Pirate Warrior killing me as early as T4 and often casually at T5, which today no deck seems to do. And I see much stronger midrange/control decks holding their own now quite well.
Ok, clearly I missjudged the reaction my friendly rant thread would have gotten, I was just trying to talk about the fact that I used to have a ton of fun with Hearthstone, building decks and playing with new cards, but now it's all the same decks, always going face, and I have no fun whatsover. All I've played the past week since expansion launch is Aggro Paladin, Aggro Mage, Spiteful Priest and Cubelock, and they all have the same deck, with little to no variation. Class popularity to me means nothing, because in my eyes, all I ever see is Paladins, and to me that ruins the meta.
Also, I shouldn't have titled it "Since Launch" considering I haven't played since launch, so sorry if I insulted any of you.
I play mage tho it's far from best class and far from having the best deck. Specially now since I am trying to get things to work, so your point is?
Oh wait wait, yeah I got it, meta is fine, game is absolutely fine. Hope they print cards that win you at turn 3 next XPAC, that would be also dandy fine.
Lets ignore that the state of the game is just cancer for any new players, and that one class has the top WR%, thats always fine.
What I hate more than unjustified whiners are people who probably play top tier decks and just act mighty and dissing everyone off as hands down stupid imbeciles
Meta is still a bit too fresh. Like not even a month of new set and rotation. But is diverse, at seems that there are also a lot of things to explore. Great time to play some hs!

I agree, I was incredibly excited to try out the new decktypes we could have gotten from this expansion, especially Thief Rogue, but the current meta, even after standard rotation, has decks that just run the exact same cards from last year with 1 or 2 new additions, and to me that's really infuriating for someone that wants to try new deck ideas.
Control decks are dead. Out of 50 matches i faced over 30 aggro decks. Most of them were paladin. The rest have been combo/midrange decks Very diverse...
People literally say this every expansion. Also I don't know what diversity you remember but MSoG literally boiled down to reno lock and pirate warrior. Pirate warrior beat everything except warlocks that had reno on turn 6 if they could even make it to turn 6. Current paladin is no where near as bad as pirate warrior was in it's prime. Also don't forget about the joy that was pirate aggro shaman, arguably the most broken deck to ever grace hearthstone. You know a meta is busted when you have to nerf pirates because shaman is beating everyone with them.
Yea, this is bad. But it's not as bad as the pre-nerf rogue quest in Un'Goro. Or as bad as Raza priest back in KFT. or even Patron warrior before the Warsong commander nerf (Warsong commander used to say "Whenever you summon a minion with 3 or less attack, give it charge" Maybe they should do that with rush instead of charge?). But I would change a few things. Clockwork Automaton should only apply to basic hero powers. Maybe it should be "Battlecry: double the damage and healing of your basic hero power"

I'm Nate and I enjoy writing. I got kicked off of my school newspaper so I figured I'd bring my passion to my favorite game.
Just turned this on I think yesterday, or today, can't remember, and so far with my Tempo Rogue (forced to have to play a "meta" deck to get any sort of wins) these are the stats. Even if I have 61% winrate, it still feels so soul-crushing to lose to Paladin that I feel like my winrate is 1%...
1) Aggro meta does not equal bad meta. Aggro is counterable. The worst thing for a meta is mid-range stagnation. See the mid shaman era where Shaman had almost no bad matchups.
2) The game is in pretty solid balance right now. Paladin is the only real exception based on stats, but this will likely change when people start properly preparing for paladin decks.
3) This game has seen a renaisance in the most recent year, so this average meta feels like a bad one in comparison, but it is just par for the course. The undertaker meta had games decided by who got the first undertaker down, the secret pally meta stagnated the game around a single archetype, the mid shaman era was dominated by the tech cards you put in your own shaman deck, etc.

P.S.: Yes, I am extremely salty!
I have no time for games!
No
I think the meta is quite fun at the moment!
Just standard meta is a bit boring after a while but still okay,
We've had much worse metas... Shamanstone, Druidstone, Piratestone?
Y'all asked for a rock-paper-scissors meta. Here you go. Eat what you ordered.

So, dunno, pocket meta maybe? (either me or you)

I want a new title, but Flux won't let me have one,

Leave my Rogue deck (using Prince Keleseth) alone! :) You can do whatever you want to Spiteful Summoner, so long as you leave the Prince out of it ;)

Hey it could be mysterious challenger/Deathrattle hunter era......
Do or do not. There is no try.
