Aside from the obvious fact that a lot of the core hearthstone developers have left Team 5 over the last year and a half, what is wrong with the rest of them? Are they really just that amateur? It's really sad that you have the largest player base of any interactive card game and 1) almost every single one of them will exploit the mistakes of the developers until put in check and 2) the developers are too stupid to know how to fix those same mistakes. Their inability to spot problem cards before they're released just shows how inexperienced the whole team is. I'll at least give Team 5 credit for giving us players more content, nerfs, buffs, and other special events than ever before but my god does all of that seem irrelevant when they don't have the balls to change something that's clearly broken. Another sad fact is that each time before they make a change they have to contact the most popular players to see if the changes are okay. It's like the scene from step brothers when they ask if they can change their beds into bunk beds with the answer being you're adults you don't need to ask permission. I do think it's a good idea to vet new cards and changes through players who could easily be on the development team like Kibler, Regis, or Kripp but most of them just want to make money streaming and continue being a player. I think this also shows that once Ben Brode left Team 5 lost one of the great minds in game development and design and now were stuck with developers who are hoping we're too blind to notice all their mistakes.
Anyways. I get what you're saying, but as HS is an online game, updates must be approved (for mobile especially) before the new download will become available. Not sure how much of the delay was because of this required approval from both Android and Apple providers, but the devs also have to more or less remake the cards to change them.
You have to understand they have access to stats and data that we don’t have access to. On top of that it’s pretty hard to predict meta shifts after expansions. They can never play test as much as millions of players so they will miss some things. Beyond that this forum is incredibly whiny so you can’t take its opinion with much more than a grain of salt for the most part.
as for the nerfs, they’re decent. I’m surprised the dragons pack card escaped nerfs but with elementalist being pushed to 6 mana it’s gonna be harder for them to play it on curve. Mogu going to 9 could be a buff depending on the meta but I think the logic is if you ease up the early game then aggro can get a foothold. With aggro decks on the ladder then control has some good matchups. We’ll see how they go.
its easy to be a Monday morning quarterback but you have no clue how tiny changes can mix this game up.

While it is true that they have access to data that we do not, I hate hearing that as the cop out answer of people defending Blizzard.
The interaction that Shudderwok and Galakrond have is not something that needed to be play tested much. It is not something that "needed to see how the meta developed." It was 100% obvious that it would be broken. There was no question about it, and it is not opinion based whatsoever. Shudderwok not only spawned two more 8/8 rushes with its own 6/6 body, but also re-equipped a 10 damage dealing weapon.
It doesn't matter if the millions of us play tested it, or the team they utilize. It is a very rare case that it was 100% predictable to be overpowered even just on paper.

Just because an interaction is broken doesn’t mean it will be good or viable. In all of the shaman matches I’ve had I have yet to see one pull off shudder after Galakrond. I’m sure it happens to some decks. I’m running highlander dragon mage so maybe I just pressure them too much. There’s plenty of broken interactions that never see the light of day simply because of consistency or meta issues.
I honestly have no idea how Galakrond shaman was released as it is. It has simultaneously the best invoke effect, the best standalone invoke cards, the best pay off in dragon's pack, and arguably the best Galakrond battlecry, plus it's the most consistent because it's the only one that can invoke twice, plus shaman was already arguably the best class after the wild cards rotated. It's a level of oversight that's tough to understand.
But, these things happen in card games. Magic had a similar experience where they just gave Green all of the best cards for any given situation. So much so that they had to outright ban 3 of them at once. I'm not gonna pretend to understand what happens at either company. Maybe everyone was busy play-testing battlegrounds.

You are 100% either lying or play very, very little hearthstone. And what version of highlander mage are you running that is applying more pressure than a slew of 2/1 rushers, 5/6 taunts, and Galak nonsense? Sorry, don't believe you in the slightest as playing Shudderwok after Galakrond isn't hard to pull off whatsoever with all that card draw. And to claim that "you have yet to see" means that in all the time the expansion has been out, you have not in a single game dealt with Shudderwok post galakrond? C'mon man if you're gonna lie at least make it believable.

You're also 100% lying or don't play much hearthstone, as the deck had already dropped to 60% winrate before the nerf was announced and was continuing on a downward trajectory, so obviously there are decks that apply more pressure
Also, you're wondering how a MAGE deck, which is SPELL based, deals with RUSH minions? Come on dude, Rush doesn't do shit if you don't have minions on board

Seriously this comes off as a little immature.
First of all how many "core" developers have actually left? The team is more than just the marketable faces like Ben Brode, and they are all studied professionals.
Second, you bring up the fact that Hearthstone is the most played card game but seem to be oblivious to the fact that in YGO or Magic, broken shit gets released as well and those games are running for decades.
Third, you think of other people as stupid, even though you can't do better yourself. That's really immature and spoiled.
C'mon they are fixing problems asap right now. What more can you ask for? Just a few years ago it was the norm to wait a month for a patch in any game! And before that regular patching was more than uncommon!

Seriously not lying dude, don’t know what to tell you. Guess they aren’t getting good turns. It’s kind of annoying for me because I plan for it but it doesn’t happen. Control versions of highlander mage do pretty well against Galakrond shaman.

If you think balancing a game like this is easy, you really should give it a go sometime. You’ll be surprised how difficult it is.
I also find it funny how the new team is bad when the only thing they really do differently is nerf cards sooner. Before we had to wait for months for adjustments to broken cards.
Every online game with various characters, cards etc. recieves balance changes. Overwatch, League of Legends, HoTS, Dota etc. because sometimes things gets out of balance. Why not give them credit for actually reacting to it quickly?
Sure they make mistakes but hell we are all human. Also, they can do all the playtesting but they can't predict everything and things happen when you release content to a million people.
I tend to agree they have not learnt from past mistakes.
Take leper gnome and sludge slurper nerfs same issue repeated.
Saronite chain gang and sudderwock and now we have faceless corruptor same effect that was deemed broken by team 5.
Here is the wording used by team 5 for the change to saronite
Shudderwock Shaman is a deck that uses Battlecry effects of other cards to plan for a turn that can kill an opponent instantly. This combo revolved around Saronite Chain Gang and its Battlecry, which summons a copy of a minion. The Battlecry is now more restrictive. It specifically only summons another Saronite Chain Gang. This means you can’t play a Shudderwock and have it create more Shudderwocks anymore.

It's a simple equation.
Broken cards = better sales.

Yes, according to your post history which is basically just salt thread, I'm sure you would lol
Ben brode never wanted Shudderwock to be released. I think that says it all
Because your dead after they play Galakrond. no need to shudderwock a dead guy. that would just be rude.
