Recently started playing a lot of warlock, and decided to try climb with it before the reset.
So what should I choose to better fit the meta at around ranks 5-10: standard demon handlock or 1-of renolock? Don't want to play zoo, since I don't think it's that strong enough right now, and 'm really sick from all the zoo-ish Paladin shenanigans that have been happening lately.

Well why do you need to have duplicate cards to make a fun deck?
Is Demonwrath that much worse than a Hellfire if you can have full hp restored + get a much better body than antique? And you don't even need to replace a whole lot of cards to make it a 1-of deck.

how bout you try making a homebrew concept instead of netdecking other people's ideas.
Sorry but by climbing I meant to go towards rank 1 and not actually increasing my rank number.

I didn't play renolock, but imo this kind of deck does not have a fun concept. Its concept is play minions you have in hand and then play reno, almost absolutely no synergies between cards, nothing. Its like playing face hunter, drop a minion, attack face, or like playing arena, it lacks fun concept and synnergies. IDK each his own I guess.

I feel like you really have not played a highlander deck or something. My mage deck alone has a lot of synergy and fun concepts \/, and there are many more. Although, the main concept is abuse reno and his medically advanced antics.
I really do not agree, I find it fun to use different cards with the same purpose behind them, love the variety. As said above, hellfire vs demonwrath vs shadow flame. Use an actual four drop that isn't piloted shredder. Play a shit ton of legendaries cause why not? They are one of anyway. But I guess I'm just another infinite arena fan anyway. Not cool enough at the constructed table.
Reno hands down. More fun than zoo and handlock. When you've got a huge deck of cards there isn't a reliable strategy to follow so each game is different.
Switched to Reno from demon zoo at rank 6-7 after getting loads of face hunters and secret paladins. Wrecks both.
OP have you even *tried* running ZooLock with Dark Peddler?
I hit Rank 5 pretty easily with the standard Demon Zoo w/ 2 Peddlers, and with Patron gone this deck has gotten stronger against Control Warrior and Druid and IMO fairs better against most matchups vs. any version of HandLock.

This couldn't be further then the truth as far as I'm concerned. A Reno deck is like a toolbox. And you play a control style game using each of your individual tools to navigate to the win. There can be 2 cards combos in decks like this but you can't rely on them too much,.

How about you (and the hundreds of others who have nothing better to do than spew this commment) go back to casual mode.
Naming an archetype doesn't mean you are incapable of changing it. Individuals are very rarely going to do better than multi-million collective at a strategy game however, if you don't look and employ accepted strategy you're never going to reach a competitive level.
The best players are does who both study existing strategy, employ it and have the ability to adjust it when needed. Innovation exists, but given that this is a game with a 30-million+ userbase, actual competitive innovation is not going to be possible, most of the time someone will have thought of what you thought of.

Well I don't really understand how it can be fun to play a deck that has only 1 of each card.

renolock is so aweshum depending on the cards you decide to run. i run Wilfred, Ysera and Nexus Saraad in mine for shits and giggles.
Just an ordinary guy trying to live an extraordinary life. Oh and make decks along the way for funsies.....^_^

Reno is a million times more fun than straight up demonlock. Every single game plays out differently.
