The only good card shaman loses in gvg and naxx i can think of is Crackle and maybe Whirling Zap-o-Matic( I may be wrong) so shaman wont be hurt badly. And with midrange and secret paladin getting worse, is it the time to shine for midrange shaman maybe?
Haunted Creeper and some have Sludge Belcher. Midrange Shaman was a very powerful deck before new cards since overload value was a lot stronger and less sticky minions that screwed over our removal. Also it was a lot less tempo dependant too. EDIT ; I say 7/10 considering how GvG murdered Shaman in the meta.
My reno shaman only loses crackle, and token paladin loses all of the things I hated playing against. So totem will probably rise again, dragon has a chance, and reno won't get worse. We don't know what else will come up, though.
Impossible to say right now, because the Classic cards will see some rebalancing. But at least for this year, Aggro Shaman will only lose 1-2 cards, so it will probably be the deck I start playing with on the first day of the Year of the Kraken.

Which reno shaman deck are you using right now? Does it work well on the ladder?
OTK Shaman loses the most valuable card of all - Ancestor's Call. So chapped that my favourite deck is going to get gutted and become useless in Standard.

At least there will be the Wild mode...sigh I don't like these changes already
He will keep best 2 drop - Scarab. And no Muster and minibot means less pallys - his weakest matchup. No more annoying deathrattles means Ligh. Storm is as good as it was preNax. So midrange Shammy may be back.

Wild mode will fall out of balance too quickly. It will probably be ruled by broken secret paladins after pallies get buffed with the next expansion (since losing Naxx and GvG is a huge hit to them). I'm so sad about all of this.
As a control shaman player, when TGT is gone I will be sad. Shaman is one of the 4 original healing classes that has no classic version of a healing spell meaning healing wave will remain atm when heal bot (and to a lesser extent vitality totem) rotates out, but a healing card needs to be printed for shaman every expansion or else the healing format for shaman will likely decay away. The same can be said for the loss of Elemental destruction as lightning storm is a poor card and only used because it's the only AoE shaman has. Maybe with a slower game it might be enough.
At least when TGT rotates out we wouldn't feel so bad about justicar being a card not for shaman. Maybe one day they'll reduce the RNG in the hero power.

More or less, it's the strongest control deck that I've landed on since TGT. The only problem is a weakness to control warriors and druids. It's still a decent deck against priest and it has game against aggro. Secret pally gives it a hard time, but that always happens.
EDIT: I guess crackle was all i cared about, there is Boom and Healbot in there, too.
Shaman loses nothing?? Neptulon, Loatheb, Belcher, Creeper, Egg and Crackle to an extent, Chows, Antiques / Vitality Totems, Shredders? Control shaman loses alot of stuff, granted some of it is something everyone loses but shaman needed those cards to combat aggro even a little.
Shredder was a major component of midrange decks, but it's a thing all decks are losing. Same with creeper and egg. Vitality totem was rarely used and even antique healbot is meh. We have healing wave now for that and yes it is better for control decks than the bot. Totem shaman remains and loses some of the harder things it had to deal with (pally tools). Losing neptulon at the same time as boom is sad because in a boomless world neptulon can really shine, but there are other late game tools we can use. We can also work around losing ZChow and belcher (i haven't used belcher in forever anyways)
Face overload shaman will remain totem midrange will remain dragon shaman will remain reno shaman will remain
the first 2 really feel shredder and crackle loss.
Malygos shaman dies sadly, but maybe crusher can come back. The basic/classic shaman cards were always considered pretty strong, as well, so retaining those in standard while losing the sets that hurt us most (in what they gave to others) means overall the power goes back up a bit. Again this is all with only the current card pool in mind. I also think TGT was a good set for shaman, it just lived in a world where shaman had too difficult a time.

Thanks for the deck list! Looks good and I'll give it a try this weekend :)
Thought about going back to Totem Shaman if we can fix the consistency woes, but still, there were so many tough matchups for Shaman back in Vanilla, for example Face Hunter still only loses Glaivezooka, and we lose our best defensive card (Healbot)...
Mech Shaman as a deck archetype, while never top-tier, is an impossibility now for Standard format. There just aren't enough mechs side of GvG to make it work. It's a shame, because Mech Shaman was one of the more enjoyable decks to play with Shaman. I guess there's no option now for Shaman players other than to get off chemo and embrace the cancer.

Focusing just on this season, or at least as the format is first released.
Personally I think it is a good thing, but I am still a little hazy on some of the details, so I could be missing a lot here...

Aggro shaman loses NOTHING. The meta full of Facehunters and Aggro Shaman will kill Hearthstone.
