Reckless Experimenter, as most people have realized, is pretty good with cube, voodoo doll, devilsaur egg, and even cards like silver vanguard and coffin crasher. I can see it as a tempo deck, not unlike egg hunter, that removes and places threats slowly until they reach explosive turns of giant minions, duplicating minions, and more. I have tried making a version with the dragon package for tempo. I will update this list as more reveals come along. What do you guys think of the list and idea?
Prince Keleseth may not be worth cutting out some other two drops. If I cut out keleseth, I can try adding more removal spells and shadow visions, or just Shadow Ascendant as a tempo card.
Coffin Crasher. It can pull out cubes and vodoo doll, but it being able to pull out obsidian statue for cheap can be HUGE against aggro. If I get rid of Coffin Crasher, I would probably also get rid of Obsidian Statue.
Silver Vanguard. It only has two drakes and a lich king to pull. However, being reduced to 4 cost by Reckless Experimenter creates a 9 mana play where you get to put down a large taunt and a 4/6 body that threats more deathrattle combos. I think that this card may be better off as a one-of.
There's not a lot of removal in this deck because Duskbreaker functions as an aoe, and Voodoo Doll is a free assasinate when played with Reckless Experimenter. However, outside that combo, it's difficult to activate it yourself, so I'm not quite sure whether I should remove it or add a Holy Smite.
Zerek's Cloning Gallery is for the memes. Getting statues and eggs and coffin crashers is good, but probably not consistent or good enough. Will probably remove.
I would also love to add some ore proactive three dops since now it's just egg. Not sure what to put in and what to replace though.
I like the idea. I would cut 2 Silver Vanguards and 2 Unidentified Elixirs. The Vanguards are just not that good by themselves, they really need some combo to have great value. The elixirs are OK, but there are more synergistic cards IMO.
Speaking of more synergy I would add 2 Tortollan Shellraisers (it fits the mana curve, and its pretty good with eggs and the experimenter) and 2 Bone Drakes (dragon + deathrattle synergy).
I would also add the quest as a tech card against aggro decks. What I would cut for it? Maybe the Lich king, since he is less valuable without the Vanguards and your curve is already high enough.
My issue with Tortollan Shellraisers and Bone Drakes is that they are more useful for the stats than for the deathrattle, but I guess not every deathrattle minion has to be valuable for the Reckless Experimenter. Also, those cards, plus the quest, are slower and go against the tempo concept, but more towards value. You're right, the deck has a relatively high curve, especially for a tempo deck, but ideally Reckless Experimenter would allow those cards to be used for tempo, the same way cube is high tempo when killed with pact or play dead.
I think I would cut out one Silver Vanguard for sure. As a tech against aggro, maybe an Omega Medic or two would work as a on curve three drop or a late game heal for 10.
Are you aware that the discounted deathrattle minions die at the end of your turn? So you don't end up with a 3 mana 6/5, you end up with a 3 mana put a random dragon in your hand.
Why Zerek? I feel that it's a really bad card that gives away a whole turn. think of it like Temporus. You get great use when your turn starts but if you don't really do anything at turn 9, then you're dead meat. That's basically what you also do when you get a few 1/1 minions for 9 mana.
Yeah it's in there as a experiment, it's probably not good enough. But the hope is at least one obsidian statue is summoned, which is a taunt and kills one their minions when killed. Cobalt scalebane, if summoned, makes at least one other minion a 4-1. Lich king and drakes are also small taunts. So there's a small amount of stall, especially from obsidian, and potential for cracking eggs and coffin crashers the following turn.
Ooooh, didn't consider Twilight's Call! It doesn't exactly support my tempo vision of this deck, and too many deathrattles are useless to summon with it, but it could work in a tweaked list. Also, the quest would be put in a long term value deck, and my goal here was to push for tempo with Reckless Experimenter and end the game through swing turns (not unlike egg hunter), so I wouldn't add the quest, but I definitely see quest priests also running this card!
Here's my take on Reckless Experimenter Priest. I decided to go for less deathrattles and more consistency, but a tempo approach seems like a fine option as well. We'll have to see what works out best once the expansion launches.

The reason for the elixirs: Good with the eggs, and generally a decent card for a more proactive gameplan.
Swing turns in mind:
Reckless Experimenter into Devilsaur Egg for a zero mana 5/5, Voodoo Doll for a zero mana assasinate, Silver Vanguard for a 4 mana The Lich King or Primordial Drake, and Coffin Crasher for a 3 mana pull out a Obsidian Statue (hopefully). If you have a minion out, Carnivorous Cube for a 2 mana duplicate a minion. If you don't have a minion out, it can still be comboed with any minion that cost 3 or less (e.g. egg, and I'm considering adding Cairne Bloodhoof as a cube target).
The things I'm not sure about:

Not sure why you wouldn't just play the quest when running that many rattles(?) Can't hurt.

On the third day before Witchwood, Blizzard gave to me,
three Handlock decks,
two Molten Giants
and a winstreak to Legend Rank #3
