Doesn't need AOE if you can manage the dream opener of Whelp, Netherpite, anything and Guardian. Comeback mechanics come in turn 5 or 6 and Chillmaw or pulls from Museum Curator or Shifting Shade can count as AOE.
It looks too greedy for the meta but I am also trying to go with a dragon - n'zoth deck, similar to the one that was up on tempostorm a few months ago.
You need board clears. Deathwing is a bit greedy, but I can see why he fits into the DragoN'Zoth plan. -2 Northshire Cleric -1 Deathwing Dragonlord +1 Shifting Shade +2 Holy Nova
I'm inclined to make space for Entomb and Excavated Evil. How's Book Wyrm working out for you? Here's my Wild Version. I could make a few cuts and it'll be standard compliant.
You won't survive long enough to play your heavy dragons half the time and I think the aggressive dragon warrior and the more late game version just do dragons better than priest.
Let me explain my card swap recommendations. What museum Curator and Netherspite Historian allow you to do is replace card draw and cut late-game threats from your deck. Trust me, you can safely cut Northshire Cleric and Deathwing Dragonlord without losing too much late game power and replace them with something else the deck needs: board clears. If you are facing down an opposing board full of Flame Imps and dire wolves, your Blackwing Corrupter will just pick off 1 minion and get traded into. You need something to finish off the minions that got softened up by your Historians and Curators.
Also I would run Shadow Word Pain or Cabal Shadow Priest over Book Wyrm. You want to kill your opponent's Juggler on Turn 2, not Turn 6. I get that Book Wyrm is a dragon, but I don't like how conditional it is. Imagine you are topdecking, no cards in hand and need an answer to your opponent's Bloodhoof Brave. Would your rather draw SWP, CSP or Book Wyrm?
I don't run Brann and instead run Thaurissan to try and bring those high-cost cards down a little. This slot remains fluid, as I've run a extra 1 or 2 drop (Faerie Dragon, Museum Curator, Cleric, etc.), an extra copy of Holy Nova or Entomb, Cairne, another big Dragon, etc. I may switch back to another low drop to help the early curve. Ysera can probably be dropped for lower curve cards, but I've kept her in for now.
I took out the Museum Curators because I felt I had enough high impact Deathrattle cards and they don't challenge the board much. I also run only one Historian for much the same reason.
It's a constant work in progress, but I like how it runs thus far. Got to hit those early drops though. If you have no minions to play the first three turns, you are in bad shape.
You really need board clears! "If you get perfect curve I don´t need them." is not a good argument since that won´t happen too often. In my dragon Priest I run 4 AoE effects (2x Holy Nova, 1x Shadow Word: Horror because I wanted to try that card and 1x Corrupted Seer since I also have The Curator), and I still sometimes don´t get them when I need them.
Corrupted Seer...I like the thinking outside the box, especially combined with Curator. Nice! How has SW:H worked out for you? I've been considering running one copy as well. It seems like a good card in theory but I wonder how often it really shines.
I've posted a few different lists. Your deck is way too slow, the 'dream opener' isn't hard to achieve but not with 7-8-9 drops stuck in your hand. Even Brann is too slow for dragon priest in my opinion (the cards accomplish enough on their own).
Most streamers I've seen don't run any of the high end, I suggest one maybe two cards costing 8 and above.
Cut Nzoth, you don't need any of the deathrattle cards. The decks bare bones are enough to end the game provided you win board early. That is the entire focus of the deck, it does that by consistently using high value mechanics. If you're spreading yourself thin the deck will be unreliable which will lose you the game.
I only count 10 dragons, I usually run about 14. And Deathwing Dragonlord is bad bad bad why would you ever run a 10 mana card that does nothing
Excavated Evil is not what this deck wants but Holy Nova is excellent. You need AOE to answer aggro decks or you'll get stomped. It's all about turns 1-5.
You certainly need AoE removal. Pre-standard, Dragon Priest offered strong tempo in its opening 3 turns. However, without Dark Cultist and, more importantly, Velen's Chosen, the deck no longer uses bullying tempo as its modus operandi.
Since that change, I'd define Dragon Priest as Mid-Range and bordering upon a Control deck and, as such, it should be using the best AoE available to it. Similarly, Entomb is necessary now that Dragon Priest is looking more at value than tempo.
N'Zoth package requires 6 other card slots to be optimal. That's not too much to invest for a powerful finisher that lets you outvalue other midrange and control decks. Now the question is, what decks are you queueing up against? If you are seeing a lot of aggro, go ahead and cut the N'Zoth package for more mass removal and dragon activators. If you are seeing a lot of midrange and control, N'Zoth is the way to go.

This needs Excavated Evil badly.

This is the version I run, with some explanation below:

And no Entombs?? For shame
I am in agreement with most people here.

I don't feel a need for a N'Zoth, the Corruptor package. Perhaps, if you ran Museum Curator and Shifting Shade along with Chillmaw and Deathwing, Dragonlord but that is a significant number of cards to shoehorn in to a deck which already relies on a different core synergy (Dragons!).
N'Zoth package requires 6 other card slots to be optimal. That's not too much to invest for a powerful finisher that lets you outvalue other midrange and control decks.
